This video just popped up on my phone so I will comment. I was born and raised in the state of Maine USA. In a small town where you knew your neighbors. My husband's father was from the Ukraine. He went to NYC as a young man. He lived there and raised a family. When he was older he moved to Maine and married my mother in law and they had my husband. My husband and I moved to Massachusetts. I have never felt so out of place in my life. So it's not just you who is mystified by everything going on around you. You must still be yourself in a world that is always trying to change you. Enjoy what you enjoy regardless of what everyone else is doing. And I think that is the key to life. You are who you are and you are here to be who you are. You can still be lonely in a room full of people. Because in the end everyone is on their own in their journey through life. But with luck you will find good people to help you.
I never was in USA, but somehow I don't have the eager to do it. Yes, I want to visit some unic places, natural ones, but the life there..is not for me. Thanks for your insights.
I watched this video twice now and think I should watch it every month or so to remind me of how good I have it. Also, as a lifelong New Yorker I can agree with your assessment of living here. I’m sure you felt more like being part of a community when you were on the Camino than living in NY. 🙂
I had a similar experience when i moved to london and lived there for 3years. I am Malaysian. I realised I could dress how I wanted, be whoever I wanted to be and nobody cared but it was great! We malaysians are also a collective culture like yours. It's nice but you have to fit in and lose some of you individuality for the collective needs. I love to watch your videos. Keep them coming.
@@dianawanderlust back in Malaysia. Going on my first Camino in 2 weeks time. I was looking at Camino videos when I first saw your channel. Glad I did.
You look great. Your dogs are wonderful. I'd prefer to do needlework over a party too. I've never been to New York and I've lived in the USA my whole life. So it's interesting getting your perspective. But one thing I've learned in living is that big cities tend to be lonely places. No one does care about you. That's why family is so important. And of course dogs!
I get where you're coming from. I've been there on a couple of occasions... I get why people love it but for me it's overrated. Like you said in the video... everyone is different and the last I heard... liking different things (and places) is still allowed. Cheers!
I could relate to so much you said! I was in New York for 2.5 weeks and felt that loneliness, especiallyyyy when you're surrounded by SO. MANY. PEOPLE. but as you said "no one gives a fuck" I love how reflective your videos are, keep sharing your thoughts, and let's travel together one day:)

Well said well explained. The freedom, individuality makes you isolated and very lonely and depressing cause nobody cares. You are right this is NorthAmerican culture --- the culture that minds there own business sometimes is tough. I think in life there should be balance and need to find group friends and community to make life bearable in big city like NYC.
Hey, thanks for watching first of all! It really depends, I know this is not what you want to hear but it's true. Depends if you want to live in Manhattan and pay $2000 rent for a tiny apartment or want to stay in Queens or Brooklyn. Depending on what your interests are, I personally like to walk, that's my absolute favorite thing to do and luckily it's free, but going out for drinks can be $50-100 a night. So I really can't tell... You can DMme on Instagram and I can chat a bit more if you wanna.
I wanna work in dining restaurant in NY. Seems like I can make way more money from tips than doing company job here in korea. I mean I wasted 25 yrs studying for 10 dollars for an hour here haha. Depressing.
