I got a good laugh out of the Oscars and arowana sitting under the lid waiting for food.
I think assassin snails would be a perfect fit for this tank. They hide in the substrate, they eat other snails and they are carnivorous, which could help with small pieces of uneaten food.

@@liamwenning7157 I would be concerned about their whiskers getting nipped. Although if he gets like 6 of them they may be fine. Depends on if he gets the foot long picture catfish or the 5" one.
I'm so glad you did a piranha tank so that many people will see just how beautiful these fish are! It's going to be really nice to see when you add the other piranhas to this tank, by far the best piranha tank setup on TH-cam!
Awesome video. Someone else mentioned about pudding kulie loaches in with the piranha stir up the substrate and look pretty cool. I kept the red belly piranhas 40 plus years ago.

I used to stick my hand in my piranha tank to remove the uneaten food also. Then one day I was elbow deep in the top of the tank, one of the planted bulbs apparently came loose from the gravel, when it floated up and hit my elbow, it scared me so bad I almost broke my tank and arm trying to get it out, lol. Ever since them I taped a gravel sticker to a stick to remove the debis
It can be a bit creepy!! This tank is also so deep and wide that I can’t put my hand in and look in through the front. I have to look in from the top which is basically the worst angle lol

That is a very nice tank!!
I would love to see some ancistrus and/or hypancistrus in there. I think they would do well in a tank like that. plenty of places to hide, not flashy and shouldn't attract the piranha. Plus, they can help with some uneaten food and algae.
You should add some neon tetras and maybe some sort of bottom feeder in there it would look sick

Fantastic looking tank. Love the piranhas. I seen my coworker years ago when I worked at a fish store get a defensive bite from a piranha. I warned him and he said they are chicken poops and will never bite. He went to grab the plastic plant and the piranha was behind it. Felt trapped I am guessing and bit his hand. Was a trail of blood from the tank to the sink lol 😂 🙈. Keep up the awesome content.

I still think that the Archerfish would have been better. And you may be the first person to breed them in captivity. But it looks great.

Joey just a suggestion but wouldn't rummy nose tetra do well in the tank too? They are quite small so the piranha would prolly won't try to hunt them plus they school very tightly compared to almost any other Tetra and would bring a lot of colours in the tank especially given how big it is and presence of a predator they'll school very amazing in this tank

I love rasbora fish for this. I do keep some tetra an keep head tail tetra and I keep golden x-ray tetra. They do a wonderful job at keeping the peace.
I am surprised to see the red Arawana in with the sting ray’s it was normally in an aquarium above or is that big one another one?

i crunch the snails at the top of the glass in my shrimp tank too, as a nice little meal for the shrimp. they love it.

Hi Joey, great content I have 6 redbellys in a 135 gallon tank, however they don't school, the find there own place in the tank and just stay put. I guess my question is this normal behavior?

I just love the tank. I really to have that big. Just want to share my insight, i think it would be better if you put colombian tetra than red eye tetra because colombian is like a some small piranha as well.

Love the videos! I got myself 12 baby red belly’s about a month ago, have them in a 65 gallon currently and setting up a 110 as a second grow out before going into a larger tank. I lost two to my filter so sponge filter it is. I got 16 baby tiger barbs I’m going to introduce once the piranhas get alittle bigger
Ps I’ve wanted them before you got them and watching them grow on your channel made me pull the trigger since I have an open tank and have bigger tanks now to be able to house them. I’ve got 10 different tanks running 😅

Joey that fritz product is just another nitrifying bacteria supplement like Tetra safe start, Seachem stability, or DrTims all in one. It even says on their Amazon page that its just bacteria in a bottle. How if a tank is already completely established and the bio media is already home to all the bacteria it can afford, can it host more bacteria to be able to make this product effective in a non cycling/aging tank?

Feed your unwanted snails to Tyrese! My Fangs puffer helps keep my snail population under control and has a little snail snack.

we had piranha at the store i worked. i cleaned the glass with my hand in there. they didn't do anything. they are quite easy and friendly and understand what food is and what your hand is.
Piranha are FAST growers if you have your temps correct.
I kinda want to keep piranha now lol. Too bad I've only just set up a tanganyikan cichlid tank.
Would tetras not feel stressed all the time? Whenever a pirana comes near them?

Should try feeding a half chicken, or legs to have them feed as a group like they do in the wild
I'm becoming a fan of this tank, but I think you seem really behind schedule on upgrading the filter. I am sure you parameters are fine enough. But the water looks really hazy. If you build a big high quality filter (as we all know you can) they will look much better in crystal clear water, and probably increase their growth rate, too.

any reason you couldn't feed the excess snails to kevin? seems like cheap food source or treat for your crustacean eaters to chew on. what are some solid tank mates that could fill that role?
Too tiny for them to eat. Plus I be a nightmare trying to get the snails out in numbers enough to control population
