    just remember octopusses can squeeze through a spot as small as their beak. the thing needs to an air/water tight. I know people that have had them and it is a constant battle with the little escape wizards.

    This has been incredible to watch. We've all seen octopus on documentaries and such but seeing this footage over home video is incredible. I can't imagine watching them in person.

    Hey Joey! As has been mentioned in a few other comments, if you do not already know, the octopus is 100% capable of opening closed containers, whether those be pop-offs or screw-ons. There's tons of videos out there on TH-cam of them doing it. Since they're so incredibly intelligent, they seem to love challenges and puzzles like that. You probably already are aware of this, but I just wanted to caution you on keeping those little dudes in the same tank with your octopus, even if it is so small! They've got a surprising amount of strength, and I wouldn't want you to lose another clutch of eggs. Not a professional opinion or anything of the sort, I just have watched a lot of octopus documentaries/etc. haha. Not sure if your octopus would even be interested in eating them, but just something to keep in mind! Wishing you much success with these projects!

      I don't think they are strong enough yet, otherwise they would've gotten out of their own containers.

      @@samsunggalaxytaba3858 because you can grip the lid better from the outside. its the way they were made to be opened. whats easier pushing a pull door open or pulling it open

    Just seeing the colour transfer from the quarantine tub to the tank from the first octopus shows how intelligent and character of this animal.. as a viewer please Keep them both.. as an avid viewer watching theses octopi grow and your tanks grow as a channel would be a pleasure to watch 🙌

    I'm so excited for you! Please know how smart these ladies really are. They are remarkable problem solvers and will 100 percent know their owner and will enjoy interacting with you. It's almost like a dog. Please enjoy. They love different obstacles too.

    i’m having a really hard time with the place i’m living. i’ve felt so so anxious. this was such a nice little slice of peace and it made me so happy. i adore octopus

    As a person who has had an octupus on very short stay ..they are masters of escape they can lift extremely heavy glassl lids too...lol

    Have you got any idea how long it’ll be before the sharks are born? My daughter has asked me every day since she saw them in the eggs 😂

      Pretty sure the last shark took around a month. It will depend on how far along they are in the egg.

      @@craige9113 He did say in the video they are farther along than he expected. I'm NO shark expert, but I'm going to guess they'll be ready to hatch in well into 2-3 weeks.

      I remember reading that only a small few of any clutch of eggs will survive until adulthood. If collected with care, shouldn't the ones collected for the pet trade really have no impact on wild populations? Please correct me if I'm wrong! I'm curious.

    I have such many goose bumps not because i see how NATURE shows itself trough those octopuss and how they explore their space and home, to see where is their territory.     I saw a zoo once that fed thier octopus in a very interesting way. They put the food in an old picklejar with the lock screwed on so the octopus acually had to screw the jar open to get to the food! I think that would make a really cool feeding video! 😁😁

    Octopi can become genuine pets with full self awareness and recognition. I once kept one as a pet. Unfortunately they are not long lived but man are they smart. Put a crab in a jar and let the games begin.

    having an octopus has worked its way up my list of non standard pets I want to have in my life (bunny, lizard, turtle) but god I know I need some hard core training before I can keep one. Already saw your update for these guys, but good luck

    You might want to give them some things to play around with, octopus are very intelligent and it would probably be good for them if you added things like small rocks and debris into the tanks for them to mess around with

    Just make sure you give them some kind of enrichment Joey. Otherwise, they’ll focus on trying to escape, one way or the other.
