My issue is not that I disliked the video but that my heart was broken for the other children in the class. How many of those kids were just as deserving and overlooked? How many children came from broken homes and were neglected without the opportunity to show their true potential but were completely overlooked and disregarded? Those same teenagers then had to endure watching another student receive a full scholarship. I'm not playing favorites and I'm sure that young man deserved what he got but it still bothers me that other students had to watch while life changing opportunities were not offered to them and the universe seemed to have overlooked their needs yet again.
That was definitely awesome! Loved, loved, loved when he said “Make your name mean something!”. That is so profound and meaningful. When all is said and done, and the dust settles, your name is all that matters...and what you have done for others.

I'm from Cleveland and had a terrible life growing up. I got out through the military and not am working to make the best life for my kids that I can. I understand the tears that Gary has. When you can do for someone in those situations it's what you wish you would have had. It's what needs to be done. Gary keep doing these things. God loves us all and rewards those who follow him and lead good lives. And this act was as good as it gets.
