We flash a few weeks back to when Adam was wrapping up the build of his sci-fi blaster storage trunk, to catch Adam as he's about begin the interior weathering process. Follow along to see how Adam gives this display a bit of fictional history, with a storied background told through painted grime and discoloration.

But it does hurt my little mind a little when I'm watching both videos back to back late at night...but that's on me

Watching Adam's videos on Saturday morning is like watching bugs bunny cartoons when I was a kid! I just love it.

For sure, there is always the scene where the protagonist is presented with a store of weapons. In my dream, Adam wheels out this steam trunk.

That trunk looks like it's from the 1920's - cracking job on the weathering, can't wait to see how you do the outside, + you look like you are having so much fun in your cave- Unfortunately, Timber has become so damned expensive now in the UK, that even and 8'x4' sheet of the cheapest 1/4 inch (6mm) plywood is like £35.00 or $47 usd ! it is terrible as when you're on a basic pension, one cannot afford materials to pursue ones hobby, and now prices look to skyrocket since the war in Ukraine will force up the price of everything. At least I can watch you do stuff. Thanks Adam for uploading your happy videos .
I grab whatever i can from the roadside and dumpsters and recycle it back into basics.
Back of cabinets are cheap but big pieces of ply wood, the newer ones fiberboard, you get an decent ammount of screws and hardware out of furniture too, couches and so on often have plywood construction under the padding too.
What a beautiful piece! That makes me want to replace my dresser with such an old Louis Vuitton style case. Very neat!
May the blasters get no further harm within.

Adam I really hope you see this by some chance. You REALLY need to do the
AGL arms 45. Long Colt from Trigun if you like big bad hand cannons.
Love those pump spray bottles. I’ve used them to apply stain to polished concrete floors. Also really handy if you ever get a wasp/hornet nest growing somewhere you don’t want. Put a little warm water and dawn in one (apply dawn after water to avoid bubbles and slowly swirl). Then spray nest from a few feet away. Dispatches the wasps almost instantly and isn’t poisonous.
Are we going to see the trunk being built or did I miss an episode somewhere? Or is it going to be like what we saw with the showing of the guns in a reverse fashion?
Yeah, ever since I spied the trunk in the background of some other videos I've been hoping for a full build video. 🤞
I feel almost like if this beautiful piece of art were to have any artificial weathering added in place of just letting time take its course....it should have some blaster burns as if the owner had taken fire while going for their guns at one or more points.
Knowing when to stop weathering is an art in and of itself.
13:30 time stamp is a little weird. This video in parts comes across like some found footage. I like it. It's mad crazy yet exciting and fantastic.

Lighting is so important! What is your process? What are those lights in the back? I've used the LED strip lights in display cases and they seem to lack drama. I'm joining the channel right now just so you'll tell me. Also, your excitement is so contagious I find it difficult to make it through a whole build video in one session without running to my shop to tinker like crazy.
I haven't thought about the 'In the Line of Fire' gun since I saw it the first weekend it hit HBO. Thanks for all you do and for today's 'blast' from the past!
Spending a few months exploring Adams cave just sounds like monumental fun.
Surprised he didn't weather the outside with scratches and dings then plaster some luggage stamps/labels on it.
A tear has fallen for the ZF-1. Hopefully, it gets the glory it deserves, by being set apart and placed on the mantle it is so worthy of.

Some vintage looking worn, torn and scuffed travel stickers/ labels would work nicely on the exterior. It would give it a well travelled look . Great piece Adam
They need to be labels specific to the franchises represented, too: Altair IV for the Forbidden Planet blaster,
May I ask why you glued the linen in vertically? I would think laying it down on it’s side would be easier to avoid wrinkles, and you wouldn’t be fighting against gravity.
"Gun case"? Meh.
"Blaster vault"? YES PLEASE
For the outside you need to add some vintage looking travel stickers for places like Tatooine and Alderaan :-).
... and even a few from the Star Trek Franchise. Sadly Dr. Who was anti-gun (for the right reasons). So you can't add any locations from that universe.
I heard that diluted coffee is good for weathering light colored cloth too. Also, Richard Scarry books are awesome. Go Lowly Worm!

Lol I like how not long ago you had a rattle can shaker that broke and you fixed it but still prefer the old shake method

I love those builds... maybe he'll build a bigger armory case someday when this one is too small for his collection
I love those builds too. Surely he'll still want good ways to transport individual pieces, right?
He certainly will. This case is just for the pieces he's most proud of that he repeatedly shows people, and those smaller boxes are still useful for traveling with one or two of the guns.
@@MrTheMighty I can't imagine him getting rid of the case he made for the Samaritan. It's too beautiful not to keep.

I would have waited to age it because over time I notice it ages on it's own.
If I leave it out side depending on how long the weather work's well with the aged look.
We saw the show and tell of the guns a few days ago, yesterday you talked about organizing the screws and lugs that fell, and in this video you include bits from both of those videos. I'd like to see a "One Day in Adam's Cave" kind of video, taking all the footage (with time lapse and cutting out some uninteresting parts, of course, to make it a manageable video length) from a single day that would go into multiple videos and showing a slice of your daily life.
It's always been a dream to visit this cave! Literally I've dreamt about meeting Adam like 5 times.
I bet if Adam came to my home he would be amazed of all the stuff me and my brother collected over the year's. Stuff made and found antiques

Pulse rifle looks fantastic but your mount worries me. My pulse rifle weighs about 21 pounds but it's a live gun. What I'm getting to is that all the weight of the prop is sitting on the spas pump slide and it might snap off. The only thing holding it on if it is just like the movie prop is the 2 extetion screws going to the 870 and the spas 12 side channels. Those are really weak and id hate for you to open the box and find the spas 12 slide snapped off and damaged, those parts are hard to find sadly. Anyway Love your work keep up the good work!

I have been struggling with how to help my son store his extensive dart blaster collection. This gives me a lot of ideas. :)
I firmly believe that Adam's 2nd greatest skill is weathering (and that is saying something because he has SO many great skills). His greatest skill is communication OF COURSE!

OMG. Richard Scarry!! I read them to my kids all the time. The one where the fire fighers put out the bug family's barbecue was my middle son's favourite!!
I just don't like that you removed the FMOM from it's case. Having them in their cases is the thing! They are part of Gregg Broadmore's art, plus maximal protection for these crazy expensive thingies. You left the Mongoose in it's case. But more annoying, you didn't give it shelf edges to prevent it from falling off and crushing the Boson below. None of the pieces are really socketed in when the case is closed to prevent falling when the trunk is moved about by the ignorant. Yeah twenty points for coolness but minus three for just not quite getting right.
That is amazing and looks great. But I would've styled it after the trunks from Joe vs the Volcano. Still great work as always Adam.

Dumping fasteners. Every makers worst nightmare. Had it happen to me and I just had to leave my shop for a bit. I wasn't mentally ready to deal with that. "Nope. Not right now."
You know what would be an extra awesome feature to add to your smaller guns...? Spring loaded rails. So whenever you push a button on the front of the shelf, that gun's rail will pop out and "present" that gun to you. A fair amount of work to add all those rails, and a decent amount of weight, but it would add an extra layer of awesome to the case. The part that would suck the worst IMO is having to make a proper holder for each of the guns so they don't fall when the rail pops out.
I like to imagine the Pulse Rifle's not in the shot so we can see it. Rather, it's offering moral support to Adam, whispering "It's gonna be so cool..."
Somday I would love to build a Ghostbusters proton pack with this man ever since I watch all the episodes of mythbusters I've always wanted to build a replica with Adam love seeing ur videos and ur one day builds hope to see more in the future

I am not a maker, the closest I get is building Gunpla, however I find this so soothing to watch. I wish he’s make his space open to the public one time for one day so I could walk through and be enamored but it in person.

I don't care about geekdom and I can't build/have almost no interest in it, but Adam's one day builds are some of my absolute favorite things on youtube.
So, the question I have is why not make and cover panels outside the box, and then insert them in a way that they can be removed without too much difficulty, should they get damaged?
I'd have been tempted to scuff up the linen with sandpaper or something, give it some textural age to go with the colour. Is that something that can work?

It looks to me like one of of his prized prop blasters is sitting on top of the trunk while he is moving it around and working on it most of the video. Why not not put it elsewhere while you work? Am I seeing this wrong?

Whereas my view is that this work is so beautiful that it doesn't need weathering. It's perfect without that step.

You could use an old typewriter to type up labels on yellowed index card stock.
