This is what a leader should do, Im very impressed with how you dealt with this pastor Terry. I wish I could be in your church because this message showed how much you love the church and your people in it. Thanks for taking responsibility.

Thank you, Pastor Terry. We do not attend your church nor live in AZ, but we are so impressed from afar. It is refreshing to hear you, an obvious mighty man of God, stand up for what is right and against what the Bible clearly states is not. We pray God’s blessings on you, your family, and your church - hang on as the Holy Spirit flows in your services as you’ve never seen before. You will be blessed for your upright stance and unwavering convictions as you carry out God’s mandate on your life.

I left hillsong a few years ago now. And this is the realest most touching message I’ve heard. To condemn the downfalls of the corporate leadership that has plagued HS for many years is a strong and courageous move. I pray your room of the church of God grows in his image and not of theirs

Amazing. So on point, exactly my current experience and dilusion with the 'church' at the moment. As a long backslider I've recently returned to find the church just as sick as I was. Accountability, openess and humility are so important and currently missing from many 'companies' that wear Jesus as a brand with an idol not a pastor leading the sheep. Bless you Pastor Terry and your congregation.

I left hillsong and the evangelical world years ago and found myself in a tiny anglican church. No bells and whistles, just a handful of people figuring out their faith and how to serve the marginalized. This message is powerful and gives me hope for this church. God have mercy. Christ have mercy.

If Terry sees this or if someone in leadership sees this, Please keep us online folks apprised of where to tune in online. I live 3 1/2 hours from Mesa and so I am only able to attend online at this point. I love Hillsong also but ultimately we follow Jesus and not a brand or any other name. I feel like I am supposed to keep attending the church that Terry is leading in Phoenix. Hoping to move there someday and attend in person. I pray for all of the worship leaders. You guys have become a part of me also. I hope someday to meet you face to face.

Thank you, Pastor Terry. We know you love the Church and love God. The situation with Hillsong has gone south and to continually keep protecting a brand that is not even willing to govern properly is ludicrous. Hence, we stand by your decision and thankful for your love for the church and move in a different direction. We are going to come out to church this Sunday after a long hiatus.

This was a beautiful sermon, and done with genuine concern for God and church. We left Hillsong because of what was happening, but Love Pastor Terry and his commitment to God! As tears poured down i felt as if the evil that was trying to take hold slip away….light was shed….God’s light and healing powers! We are told to humble ourselves, and i felt it…I love that he wanted blame on himself not the church…I am praying for bigger and better things that will happen.

I also want to say that what Crist did by saying no to not signing an NDA and being transparent and sharing with us about that is very powerful. He’s the only one so far that I have seen be so transparent about that and for him to call for an investigation on Hillsong’s Global leadership wow👏🏾👏🏾I appreciate that.Although,I don’t agree with some of the things he said him doing what he did is powerful.

As a member of Hillsong Church I do agree an internal investigation on the global board and dismiss the bad actors in there and return the elders. There are too many bad actors to protect the brand and not the people as I agree what Pastor Terry said. I do agree that all Hillsong churches around the global should have stronger governance and accountability on all the books. Each church should have their internal directors looking into the church and account for all the financial givings from the members and be transparent on all the funds spent. These funds are for God to use and not for spending on lavish hotels, expensive clothes and what not I see many devils inside the corporate church environment. I experienced first hand before I attended Hillsong church at my old local church that two internal pastors, the Senior and Associate pastor had an disagreement and one shocking Sunday out of no where before resigned the church. It was a young fast growing church turned to ruins the next weeks and the following weeks, months and years. The real truth on what happened never were transparent. There was rumors of this and that. But never we ever heard the truth. There was one argument from the members on why the church is employing someone at church for X amount of money sitting at the church office doing nothing etc. All of this had a bad mark on the church. I totally agree what Pastor Terry said that if the global senior pastor is gone what is the plan. The global board will change everything and if you don't consume to their rules they will take you out of that position like a corporate world. This church is run just like that. I am outside looking in and I have 0% knowledge of what is going on at Hillsong church. I had stopped tithing to this church for a while. I might decide to start tithing to this church once it separates from Hillsong church. I love what Pastor Terry's honesty and transparency. I wished I can attend Phoenix live but I don't there. I lost trust on that my hard earned money is not given to the ministry but to the pockets of these people using it to rub against us. This is unacceptable to me. I love Carl Lentz for the past 8 years. I had given a lot of my time and equity to this church. On my nightmares i had seen this happening. I had seen the fame going over his head and that dreaded day happened. I am not shocked that it happened I am shocked that it could happen. I listened to his interview and his heart said he is doing this because he has the love of people. It is not about the celebrity, it is not about if you are poor or not. He embrace them all. He preached that he invited a homeless man to church, he was drunk and smelly, and he was collecting cans and invited him to church. I don't know if this is a true story or made up only God knows.

The issue is less the person who’s been married for 45 years has a couple of slipups in terms of sending a text message or entering someone’s room (although I’m not married so I wouldn’t know… ).
The issue is far far broader than that, how Hillsong responds to criticism, how they harass and harrang college students for tiny past indiscretions, how they block delete and sanction anyone who questions any of the theology, block delete and sanction anyone who questions a poor experience they’ve had, how they cover up literal rape and sexual assault & minimise it, treating victims like threats ... whilst pretending to be extremely trauma informed and loving and caring and this is right at the very top, Brian and Bobby, Brooke Ligertwood (yep she’s a quick fire blocker of anyone carefully challenging church culture whilst telling people that cynicism towards human leaders will rob you) and Christine Caine - A very gifted speaker who’s got unfortunately the wrong and, ultimately, discouraging theology and not consistent integrity (plagiarism).

Non compete clause??? How is that Christian?
    Philippians 1:15-18
15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16 The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. 18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice...

As someone who attended Hillsong Phoenix and has had a conversation with Crist about things I noticed there.
The Hillsong/non Hillsong church theology is harmful,,exploitive ,abusive, sexist and racist.
Being mad at the church is ok and should be validated.
I don’t like how he said “not to be mad at the church” that’s dismissive of what so many people are feeling. It’s ok to be mad at God and the church about an institution that spiritually, sexually, emotionally, financially abused ppl.
It’s okay to leave a church that’s toxic and has a harmful environment.I left the church 4 years ago and I have learned more about emotional intelligence, thinking for myself ,what it means to actively call out racism ,speak truth to power ,what it means to question everything and true genuine love that’s not based on manipulation and control.
I hope anyone reading this feels seen to be mad at God and the church because they failed you.Your emotions and feelings are valid.
All your feelings towards this situation are valid and the Jesus I know (who by the way got mad at the church when he flipped tables )would want you to allow your true feelings to show.
I am mad at the church and so disappointed and hurt by the harm caused not just in Hillsong but literally the whole of Christianity and the spiritual, sexual abuse ,financial abuse that has taken place in Hillsong really sadness me and it’s sad that so many ppl have to live with harm.
You have the right to be mad at God ,the church and the pastors/anyone who didn’t honor the place that was supposed to be safe.
To anyone who has been affected by church hurt and trauma and you have left /are thinking about leaving ,it’s okay to leave and it doesn’t make you less “Christian “unloveable by God for leaving.Jesus would want you to take care of yourself mentally, spiritually, physically and emotionally.
Please take your time to yourself and to heal from the spiritual trauma and harm caused on you and if you have been sexually assaulted and made to feel like it was your fault or you didn’t feel supported and protected I want to say I see you and I validate you and your pain and trauma.
Also,if you have the means /resources to seek therapy please do it and it doesn’t have to be with a Christian therapist.

I cannot blame any congregation but the devil surely uses our sensate inter-relations to destroy Jesus' mission to the world. Some take this as an opportunity to criticize Hillsongish music but if the theology is right, bless it. Holy Spirit moves and we respond whether "Holy, Holy, Holy" once brought forth the heart, mind and will. How much of that was time and context? God is about grace in Jesus. There is not a minister or priest in the world who is not guilty, but if there is error or a suspension of position but not a casting out into the outer darkness. Repentance needs to be accompanied with restoration or the Church is not Christian, only "religious". We live here more out of our lack than of what we have. The flesh is flesh. Why does that destroy people and the Spirit does not redeem people. If that is the case, the faith of Jesus is a lie. Confess, repent, do penance and restore. That is the gospel. Life from our perspective is Lent. From God's perspective it is Easter Resurrection. If confession, repentance and restoration is not the way of the Church then our beliefs are a lie. Like a bumper sticker I saw: " not perfect but forgiven". What God knows about us both before and after we came to the new birth, why in the world would he bother with us? I would suggest that some Church discipline is more of the world and not of the Spirit. As you read your Bible revelation, don't you agree? The world waits in demonic joy to defame the Lord Jesus because they still think that God's standard is perfection and is immovable. That is not the gospel. That is puritanism and judgmentalism. Why elevate sinners to begin with? It is a false gospel. Control is the devil's venue, not the liberty wherewith Jesus has made us free. Scripture tells us "love covers" . This is not following the Scriptural model. It is following the world's way of dealing with things. Truly humbly Biblically leadership grieves at their own weakness that proves humility, grieves weakness, and a vile somewhat created environment that points always with Satanic glee on the weak moments of others so that Sadduceeic pride may triumph which is not sanctity but the gateway to hell. Didn't anyone get the memo that we are sinners all and everyone saved by grace??? This solution is amazingly gracious. This pastor is to be prayerfully supported. The world has been out to destroy Hillsong. Not perfect but forgiven. Time to restructure and seek the Spirit's guidance for the future. I can hear the cries of the demonic: "see those people aren't so different" from what? God used this pastor to found "Hillsong" . Scripture says: "He who began a good work in you will complete it in the day of Jesus Messiah". This isn't pastor Brian's word that is GOD. Don't you know that many, many of the saints were still great sinners AFTER they were born again. So have YOU! God will bring his final purposes about. God bless you and Holy Spirit fall upon you in sanctifying grace and power. May Jesus Christ be praised!
