- A recovery on Moab Rim led us to find out the welder on Trailmater was having issues. So after a quick welding job we headed back to the shop to fix it. Then we had some other maintenance things going on. Then a quick winch job out at Elephant Hill. Some new seats on Ol Blue, and a new transmission coming soon. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

PSA for Trail Mater customers:
If you get out there to have a good time, there is no shame in getting stuck or breaking your rig - you doin' more than most of us watching it on youtube! And the Trail Mater boys aren't making fun of you either. 👍
Well, they have made fun of Subaru drivers lol
and overlanders cant forget them
It's rough in the comments I wish ever window watcher thought that way 😂
Rory and crew thanks a million for all of the smiles you bring to our faces with each episode!!!!! Some folks are in real serious need of those smiles!!!!!
Ya mean, some folks watch for another reason than the chuckles?!? For Shame! They're missing the whole therapeutic advantages of these 4 Musketeers, friends & follies... Thanx !
Back-up rig, back-up bros, back-up welder, gloves with back-up for the back-ups. Redundancy upon redundancy with more redundancy. Professional level redundancy. Winning and more winning brining even more winning. Cool, way cool.
Rory likes to back up the chute too 😎
Dooms day redundancy.
Get the job done no matter what.
I can only imagine your interactions with customers. Recoveries like you do are not cheap. The wear and tear on equipment and your knowledge of the terrine come with a price.
Some people only learn their limitations by how much they have to pay for their poor choices.
Rory and crew, giving life lessons one bill at a time.
If I call for a recovery, I don't care if I get recorded because I have no shame in my game. Just come save me, LOL!!
He told his wife he was at his mothers house 😎
@@squiggyg.8415 Now that I would believe !
I've heard that recoveries in Moab, from anyone, is not cheap. And Moab Motorsports isn't trying be to the cheapest. So any discount is welcome.
@k53847 No off-road recovery is cheap. I always tell people if you ever get into offloading you wheel with your bank account. If you can't afford the repairs and the recovery bill, stay on the pavement.
If they wanted me to admit on camera that "Toyotas suck & are less reliable than Jeeps" after they got me unstuck I would be 1000% ok with it - wouldn't even need a discount! I do not think anyone who has watched even just a couple of Rory's videos would think the purpose was to shame them or even that the comment section would shame them.
No shame in breaking down, getting stuck, or admitting you are beyond your comfort level. We have ALL been there, and probably will be there again!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Sometimes I wait for Rory to jump out of the truck wearing a superhero cape lol
Yep, some folks are shy. Says the old guy wearing his favorite tank top which states; "Bad Decisions Make Good Stories." Not every line is a good one for sure!
Some Good story's aren't good tell thay age a while
Not gonna lie I feel totally comfortable risking a break in Moab knowing Rory is around. Video or not no shame here. Rigs break, knowing there is a reliable person there to help if something happens helps a ton!
Dude I just love the way ya'll work together. A little work, a little shit talking, a little ball busting, and a whole lotta good times ( surrounded by amaaaaazing scenery ). Proud of you guys!!!
Working with people who's company you enjoy makes life so much better and you can tell the comradery and friendship is genuine here
Some years ago, I was with a friend who broke on Hell's Revenge. Rory came out and did a trail repair. He trusted us to come into the shop and pay later. We were surprised at how little the entire bill was!
We apreciate you being so humble Rory 😂😂😂 but you sir is the definition of what a RECOVERY PROFESSIONAL " IS.
How could so much fun, and happy times be free? Somebody has to pay for my entertainment, cause this is merica, ain't nothin free. Thank you for sharing. Be well.
Love this channel, great blend of skill, fun, and scenery.and comradarie. Always interesting
Did you know the auto-generated captions say [music] when the only thing you hear is Trail Maters engine? 1:53 It's nice to see speech to text get something right for a change.
"Let it sing."
Just like a family working together awesome video today Rory Shawn and Mike
Shawn looked so serious hammering that pin back in . 😅😅😅😅
Their buddies will recognize that rig!
I don’t like my picture took either but , I ain’t stuck up in MOAB though, if I ever was, and I called you guys, PFT!! Yeah l’ll help your channel grow with my extremely extremely handsome face, no prob.
GREAT VIDEO!!
it must be Really Cold, if Rory has to put the doors on Trail Mater. He's the one who never seems to be cold in most of the videos.
Moab Rim jobs are always fun. Especially for us viewers. 😏
😂😂😂😂
Was that "moab rim" job, or Moab "rim job" ?
Your giving Mike more T-shirt ideas 😂😂😂😂
@@Tom-bo2wj 😂😂😂, id buy one!
Rock Peckers and Moab Rim Jobs!!
Sounds like an illustration contest.
First pickup looked like it had several fancy parts. Sure looks good.
When I see those trails along the side of cliffs I often think of the Molly Hatchet song "Flirtin' with Disaster".
Best off road recovery crew in Moab.
HEY! Hello Rory , Mike and Shawn!
Definitely my favorite channel. Thanks for all the fun and entertainment!
Another amazing Trail Mater video with everything, recovery's, trail repairs, shop repairs, and as always beautiful scenery in their work office. Love this Trail Mater channel!
I didn't know carrying a spare applied to the welder too but it got the job done😁
The second welder was on the buggy.
@@robertheinkel6225 did you really assume i was that stupid?
Morning Rory and Crew!!!
Safe travels, friends ❤❤
Stay FROSTY...
Keep your powder dry and your head on a swivel...

Some days you play. Some days you work. Most days it's hard to tell the difference 'cuz you always seem to have a good time. Thanks for sharing all the fun.
Hello Rory, Mike and Shawn, the scenery is beautiful.
I about panicked when my Premier failed on the trail.
Then I realized I hadn't checked the circuit breakers on the front. Reset and BINGO back to work.
Always love your videos.
Pretty new truck to crunch
You guys can record my old Jeep anytime I call for a recovery, lol. Love watching Trail mater...
Tadaaa
I've been watching your show for about 3 years now and it just keeps getting better and better !! Love the humor and the work you guys do . My wife and I live in Oklahoma and plan to come to visit you guys this summer who knows maybe you all may have to pull us out !!
Trailmater has no equal! Greetings from Australia.👍
In my opinion you guys are the best at what you do and if I was in the area you would be my first call
Transfer case ASMR with Shawn. Thanks Shawn,I’m no longer stressed.
What a day at the office for you guys!
I figured the battery holder upgrade would have been changing from a yellow bungee to a green bungee.
Been to that car wash a few times. Especially after doing Onion Creek. It's fun to splash thru the water 26 times. And, for those who want a scenic drive instead of difficult rock crawling, it's a nice diversion. You have to take Utah Scenic Highway 128 to get there, and that in itself is a beautiful drive along the Colorado River.
2:48 Great shot! Rory welding with the Arch perfectly framed in the backdrop. ❤️
2:05 I’ve had that feeling to many times.
Thanks for sharing! Yay a new episode of TrailMater adventures.
Fun watching Shawn experience the highs and lows of working on a transfer case.
Yes I heard it, even at 64 years of age. Guess I don't need next month's annual hearing test. You are awesome.
It is somehow extra funny when you and Shawn make fun of Mike.
Shawn over there doing ninjutsu, sure!
Thumbs up, always enjoy trail mater videos, I would watch even if he just made the rounds of a few of the trailhead parking lots, great video
You guys had quite the busy day. Love it!! And. Thank you three for doing all of this 😊😊😊.
No surprise another great video.
My K20 is supposed to be in the next few months in theory but I sure wish you guys were building it instead. Lol
I would sure love for Shawn to do a complete video on how to build the Doubler transfer case. God Bless you all.
"Not experts" I think we all can appreciate the humbleness but seriously you guys have all of the experience and the seat time to claim it if you want.
by far one of the best recovery guys&TrailMater is still my Fav! fer Many Years now!
❤😊❤. Miss Lilly. Hope all is well. Keep up the great videos.🎉
9:54 100% agree and well said Rory
the sigh at 2:04 is something we have all felt on a trail repair. Keep up the great work.
Tankyou 4 working ... and videoing .. if possible..
Mike's holding down the fort
If this channel would be half as good as it is, I’d still watch it with awe and fascination (would also apply if only a tenth as good, come to think of it)
P.S. if only a tenth as good, it’ll be still the best recovery channel out there
(Attention! These are my opinions, so no need to debate them, they are inalterable 😊)
I have a funny seat story. When I worked on forklifts at the sawmill I had a job one night to install the new seat in planer forklift. The night guy came up and I set it all up to fit him. The next day I got chewed out for the seat install that didn't fit the dayshift operator. So I then adjusted it to him. I . Then my boss told the day operator to use a different forklift and we weren't moving the seat every day for him.
2 guys on the same machine doesn't work when one guy is a short legged 5'6" tall and the other guy was long legged 6'4'' tall...
Love the Shawn mechanics hammer with built in pry claw
2:43 Way back when I was a kid like 100 years ago my pops made on the spot repairs with the batteries from the tractors, arc welding rods and ground cable held together with old ars clamps, need a heavier weld with a thicker rod add a battery, lol.
Shawns knowledge is underestimated big time. Great video guys.
Rory doesn't hang with knuckleheads, I totally get it.
Great video, thank you for sharing it with us. Best recovery team ever!
Love this channel. Great content and good ole guys with great attitudes and fun humor 😎🤘🏼☀️☀️
Thank you. Very good fix on your welder. Unbelievable countryside view. Keep on being great you bunch .Keep on making great entertainment and video's they are great
Learning as we go is the way true “experts “ do things. Take your experience and adapt and overcome with expertise.
Part of the rock behind Rory between 9 and 10 minutes looks like a big duck head. Thanks guys!
I have been in some very interesting places with vehicles that had absolutely no business being there in the first place and i will absolutely own my bad decisions if i ever need to call you you better believe that it's going to be an epic video and you can film everything you want to
The best guys on TH-cam in Utah recovery Mr. Rory is the man pretty soon your sweet little girl’s gonna be out there with her rig in a few years she got the best teacher in the world
Best crew most knowledgeable they were shy at first like anybody else would be but they’re coming around remember carry a roll of duct tape for those people that run there yap against ya 😂
If they’re mean charge them double
It’s called hazardous duty pay
😝😝😝😝😝✊🇺🇸🍺
Thank you Rory and crew for the adventure and seeing some amazing scenery ! If I was to be out there in your area and got stuck ! I would call you to come get me out and you can record me even if I don't like my picture to be taken ! When I get home I can watch my recovery anytime and think of the fun I had there !
Like that Rory, "go get stuck and find out" LOL
At 9:09, check out the petrified Diamond-Billed Rock Pecker just to the left of Rory's head! Like a rocky pelican facing right!
Got to love a job where the scenery is so awesome!!
I like how the interior roof of Blue is stickered. It's entertaining for the TH-camrs. Matt has rusty stupid holes in his. You are winning!
It's not a competition. Mater is pretty crusty too and Matt is still in Beta testing the Big wrecker. They finally welded the holes a while ago. Never ending work on these rigs.
Looks like a beautiful day! Hope you’re successful for the entire day!
Hadn't seen the half doors on trail mater in a while.
Mike was pointing to, not just the Voltage Regulator, but its Heat Sink. Just like the Radiator, the Heat Sink allows the air around it to keep the electrical parts from overheating.
Being on the floor allows the heat to rise, but being near the Exhaust Manifold on the floor means the air is hotter than it could be. The old heat sink fins were clogged with mud which keeps them from working efficiently. It might behoove them to put the box higher and add a fan.
Or not.
Y’all are expertly winging
Love Mike's seat design on the fly method. Who needs any stinking plan.😊
Great ep guys, thanks!
Keep up the great work. Love watching all you do and you blunt honesty.
I love these workshop maintenance videos ❤
me too!
I like seeing all the issues that independent front suspension has even wen they are built “bomb proof” they still give up the ghost more often then the tried and true solid front axle
Great video guys!! Love watching you do all the different things you do! Always a good time with the "Trail Mater" crew!!!
A bit of love and practical improvement for the trucks. Heck guys, they might get even more reliable.
Far as I am concerned, you guys are the experts. All the other guys (channels) mention you at one time or another. They talk about your special rope, your welder, Train Mater and your team. Seriously.
You, recovery guys, got it covered no mater what it is covered with!!!! I like.
C'mon you guys are THE EXPERTS in Moab!!! I wouldn't call anybody else if I couldn't get out with ny friends.
Best job in the world!
"What my rate is? Go get stuck and find out!" 😂😂😂
Awesome upgrades
45 years ago we mounted the sliders on 2x4's and then bolted those pieces of wood to the floor
It’s great seeing how the vehicles evolve over time plus i love how this team is like a family you can see how well they have gelled over time and Justin is a great addition after see the completion between justin and hunter from fab rats and i thought it would be great if you guys got Justin’s rig in and built it to be a more capable rig so he can go on rock crawling trails with you in his own rig.
Funny about people who don't want to be on TH-cam. I have toyed about ways I could get stuck just for a fun video for you and so I could meet you.
Love this crew and how everyone interacts and jokes around!!
I've said it before, but I like the new spool gun.
you guys are great wingers! you said it.
Y'all make me laugh so much everytime. Thank you.
