I agree, RIP Hobbico. I took a 10 year hiatus from the hobby, only to return and find they had gone bankrupt. Tower hobby was my go to site. The variety of planes was unparalleled. Some of the brands such as PA & SIG are still around, but you gotta search them out. Hobbico seemed more interested in the hobby. Horizon seems more interested in selling high priced high wing foamies, and maximizing profits with high dollar planes and radios.
Great plane. My dad flew P-51s. We got his flight records a few years ago. We found out he had time in P-40s, P 47s and a B-29. I think P-47s are the second coolest war bird. Yours is absolutely beautiful.
That's a lot of planes for one guy to fly. Most pilots fly one, maybe upgrade once, and this guy not only got 3 fighters, but even found himself in the new strategic bomber? That's a heck of a career
Really excellent build sir! Love the well done electric conversation. You are really lucky to have such a nice flying field near by also. Official AMA clubs are getting scarce.
Vinny does amazing work! We definitely don't take the fields for granted. AMA fields are indeed getting scarcer, but it's important that those that have access to one do what they can to keep the hobby and these amazing flying sites alive. Volunteer, promote, educate, and above all: be friendly and welcoming. -Zach
I have the Blackhorse P-47 which I absolutely love. Very similar setup to yours only I'm using a Biela 4 blade prop. Looks and soynds amazing. Glad to see that beautiful Topflight bird flying!
Amazing stall characteristics on the P-47! Also cool to find the guns make music like the famous banshee scream of Mustangs. Hey if you need equipment to fly head-tracking FPV from the cockpit, look me up. It would be cool to do it from the Jug.
She's a keeper for sure! Thanks on the FPV idea! You've got great content. Unfortunately since this bird is discontinued and the canopy is permanently glued/screwed on, there won't be the option to make it removable and know we could get another canopy as a backup. We definitely would be interested for future builds! 😁 -Zach
I mean he already is a real career pilot and can fly a bush plane like no other, but now he definitely is the business with how low he flew that slow roll 💦
I think wooden two-bladed props are illegal on a P-47, beautiful T-bolt though. Don't know why they discontinue models like this. People seem to love building and flying them.
Horizon ditching the entire top flite and great planes lines is a huge pity. Very disappointed with how they have run things. They have focused almost entirely on disposable electrics.
For me, the enjoyment with RC flying *is* the flying, so I let the building go to someone else who enjoys that side of the hobby - without regret. Some folks like building, some folks like flying, some like both. 🙂 -Zach
@@TailHeavyProductions the guy who built it did call it a kit once. But I feel its both a arf and a kit at the same time. What else would you call something that is unassembled and needs extra parts to make work then a kit?
@@TailHeavyProductions easy, if you guys had our prices and taxes we have in Sweden you would pay for shipping xD It's like, if a plane cost 1000usd it's 1500 here and then 25% taxes on it, and if I buy it from US/Canada it's customs fees on top. That 1000 usd plane is now 2000 USD 😄
@@TailHeavyProductions this plane I built new last late summer i re used my servos from my Extreme Flight Extra, and the price was cheap cuz I bought the plane in Netherlands and avoided the custom's thanks to European Union. Beautiful warbird. Less problems with electro setup but im still a gas boy. A 5 cylinder moki in that one would really be something for your ears. As allways great video. Ps can you contact me by mail i really wanna invite you to a live stream via skype or facetime. Bengt

Wooooow…. Well God Bless your great Uncle and the rest of those boys lucky enough to fly it and fight it. What a great tribute.

@@TailHeavyProductions similarly here in Australia mate.
Gorgeous build!!!
WOW! What are the odds of finding that plane New In The Box? And not be outragously expensive! Great find for sure.
WoW.. This video fueled my love for this hobby tenfold!! Thank You so much for sharing this!! Vinnie ROCKS.. what a build..
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! 💙

Love listening to and see the work of true passionate like Vinny.
Crazy neat setup, beautiful.
We're lucky to have people like Vinny in our hobby! 💙
What a monster, beautiful

Man that’s a awesome bird. P47d is my favorite attack ww2 bird
I spit my coffee out when the wind instruments took over hahaha
🤣
I was so scared the prop was gonna break at the end of the video cause it nosed in. glad it did not
Not sure where you saw a nose-in - it's got quite a bit more prop clearance than you'd think, too. -Zach
"fleeewww!" I love the gun flutes
Such a beautiful build
Got to love Vinnie! Nice aircraft and flying.
Great warbird. I've always like the P-47D. Vinnie's skills are outstanding as usual.
Nice build of a stunning warbird 👍
Real men fly Tail Draggers!
Great video, looks like a fun plane 👍
Beautiful plane! Thanks for the video!
Boy that's a sweet jug. 👍😎✌️
That is an absolute beauty!
Gee that is beautiful.
Its very cool, but to my taste, the bubble canapy P47's i like them more (:
Beautiful P-47! I see why you missed it and got another one.
Thanks! Stay tuned for another video flying it again here in the next month or so.
some people must be picky but I think your phone camera works just fine
OMGOODNESS ❤️

Totally amazeballs
Wow now thats a MF Plane!!

LOVE IT!❤
You forgot to say bounce one on for us

We definitely miss the Top Flite line up!
You didn’t build it yourself????? Such a cute puppy.
Nice work. It's funny people spend a ton of money on nice models and cheap out on the servos Glad you didn't
Is it like GI Joe size?
I have a bubble top I need to finish some decade..
Get on it. I would love to see that. 👍😎✌️
very very nice
Thanks vinny! Solid build.
This is awesome. Where is this great location you are flying at?
Concord Skyhawks, AMA #150 👍
I still don't get the "that's not scale" crowd. If that's not what someone is going for then it doesn't matter 🤷♀️🤷♀️
Exactly. Do what makes you tick. There is not one “right” flying style. 👍 -Zach
The thought of not assembling my own plane is weird as hell.
I would be proud of owning this plane. Is it for sale.😂
The only thing that would lead me to getting rid of it is a fatal crash. I like her too much. 😬
Too bad there was not a 4 bladed prop available for these kits. the wood prop just looks strange on this bird.
Stay tuned…it’s in the works 👀 -Zach
You can see it looking strange while the engines running?
@@MPRasta104 yes. Yes I can. The sound and appearance is different between a speed and power prop.
Ok...
Your eyes overcome laws of physics to point out something that really doesn't matter. Good for you.
The only thing that's missing is the sound of a gasser engine. Oh well, maybe you'll put the gasser on you next build.
For me a lot of the enjoyment with RC flying is the building but you let that go to someone else and now it’s like flying somebody else’s plane

Beautiful plane, but its not a kit, its an ARF.
We never once mentioned that it was a kit.

i would never sell a plane that had a meaning to me like that you had just because of a move
You’re welcome to foot the bill to box the plane and for the cubic footage required in the truck next time for the 3000 mile move 😜

Scale means not electric but then again combustion engines are for the pros.
