    I bought the FW190 4 months ago when HH had for $150 off and I'm so glad I did. This thing is tame when compared to it's brother, the 1.5 Mustang. I've only been flying for 2 years. but I'm able to look good in the sky with this warbird.

    If you break the tabs off the battery tray the fix I’ve used is to drill straight down through the rails at the back of the tray when fully inserted. Then insert a toothpick in the holes you drilled, cut to the height of the canopy so they won’t fall out during inverted flight. Works great on the Pitts 1400 as well to keep the battery from sliding back or you can use the bumper attached to the bottom of the canopy method that keeps the tray from sliding back. Either work fine but the bumper limits you to one battery size. Great videos guys, excellent flying!

      I’ve got a question for you since you guys modify airplanes more so than I do. I’ve got a motor out of another plane which is exact same dimensions but it’s 550Kv. The FW is 460Kv factory, do you think the extra 90Kv would make much difference in speed or power with the stock propeller? I didn’t want to modify the looks but get some more performance. Also my opinion but the three point landing doesn’t make the geometry of the landing gear work and I believe causes more damage than putting down on the mains then setting the tail down. I’m landing on dirt which is is a bit risky for landing on the mains, sometimes wheels will dig into a soft spot.

      It's the same as it has been for years with new Smart electronics. Really nothing new. Horizon Hobby didn't really push the envelope with this one. Just an update to an existing plane.

    As with most Eflite airplanes, the hard tires and battery straps are near useless, although the battery straps on this model are quite sufficient. I usually replace the wheels and tires with some equivalent and suitable DuBro low bounce variants, which help significantly with ground handling and landings, but their drawbacks are increased weight and non-scale looks.

    Can you find and review a plane called the rainbow. You can fly it light or you can fly it heavy, it’ll do what ever you want it to. I have 1 that I when I go to the farm and do bush flying take all but bare avionics out but when I’m at the feild I fly her heavy

  • @air-headedaviator1805
    @air-headedaviator1805 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Say! Since you’re a learned aviation person in industry and hobby, would you know what correlation having heavier wing loadings due to flight performance? Like is there anything high wing loading allows a plane to do vs a low wing loading, or if able would you always want as low a wing loading as possible? I’m someone who fiddles with designing RC planes and would appreciate the insight!

    • @MChronicleSword
      @MChronicleSword 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      High wing loading gives more stability in windy conditions and high speeds

    • @TailHeavyProductions
      @TailHeavyProductions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here’s a basic rundown for ya! Mel got it, too.
      Low wing loading = floaty, great for STOL, 3D, etc. Bad for turbulence/wind.
      High wing loading = better able to handle higher winds and turbulence without getting totally annihilated but requires more attention of the pilot at lower air speeds and high angles of attack. This is because you’re operating closer to the critical AOA during takeoff and landing.

    I have troubles with it pulling left on takeoff even when I ease on the throttle any suggestions on takeoff?

    • @TailHeavyProductions
      @TailHeavyProductions  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Be ready on the right rudder! 👍 It’ll still be required regardless of the throttle input rate.

  • @trainsplanesandautomobiles2547
    @trainsplanesandautomobiles2547 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you do a slow roll do you include rudder when your sideways. Because I can do fast roles and somewhat stay at the same altitude but when I do a slow role I loose a lot of altitude when the plane is sideways

    • @TailHeavyProductions
      @TailHeavyProductions  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, slow rolls incorporate every flight control at some point throughout the maneuver. The way I learned them was by making sure my inverted flying and knife edges were down first, then practicing slow 4 point rolls, and then blending them all together and trying out slow rolls. It’s definitely a more streamlined process if you learn it building block style. 👍 -Zach
