Brilliant tip for putting the bottom of the tape measure at the floor! I was struggling with measuring my skirt length just last evening! You have so many great tips and ideas throughout your videos. Thanks so much for the time and effort you invest in teaching your sewing methods. Great sew along!
Hi glad you enjoyed it, I would only put a keyhole in a back neckline if the back wasn't vut on the fold & I couldn't put the top or dress over my head without a fastening. Because this has a V neck it isn't needed but I will bear it in mind next time I make something like that I put something together for you 🤗
Thank you again Sam for this video. Your a natural at explaining things in a simple but accurate way. Your dress in fab I think I have the same material 😘🤔 I have downloaded the top but this is a lovely dress xx
Hi Sam, I did it!!!!! I actually managed to make a tiered dress from the pattern as your video shows. It took me ages as I was really not sure it would actually suit me by the time I'd finished. Had to do a full bust adjustment on the top (thank you Stitch Sisters!) and my tiers were considerably wider than yours as I suspect my hips are considerably wider than yours! but I am so pleased with it and am about to swish off to lunch in it, having finished the hem 15 minutes ago. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos, you are an inspiration.
Hi Diane, hope that you enjoy the videos & thanks so much for watching. I'm afraid I nabbed the last 3 metres of this fabric from the shop that I work in, although I'm sure it will be available elsewhere. 🤗
Hi Sam, I have downloaded the badianne Top ( sweetheart Style neckline). As its a French pattern I wondered about sizing . Is it the same as UK sizes /
Great vlog as always Sam thank you. I don’t have a printer but have already the Megan Nielsen Dove blouse which I think looks very similar to the free peppermint top - have you made that one and agree that would work for this hack?! Thanks 🙏 ps I think I have that same fabric 👍🏻
Hi Paula, no I haven't made the MN Dove top but I can't see why it wouldn't work. As it has a curved hem just remove any length from the bottom rather than reducing it at the lengthen/shorten line. I would still make it as a top 1st the to check fit & whether you want to bring it in at the sides or not. I nabbed the last 3 metres of the viscose at work as someone had ordered 7 metres of it & loved the colour 💙
Hi Sam, thanks for this, just wondered, is there any reason for having to sew outside of the elastic and removing it or would it be ok to just sew through it and leave it in place?
Hi Katie, I've always removed the elastic for 2 reasons, 1. it will add bulk to the seam & 2. I like to re-use the elastic. Depending on the weight of your elastic, I guess it would be ok to leave in. Maybe try it & see 🤔
@@Ajcg28123 Hi Anne, I've already got a couple of tutorials for V necks on wovens, this is the bias bound one: th-cam.com/video/-H4tFUcTB9s/w-d-xo.html & this one is using a placket: th-cam.com/video/L4Eyd_jSlH8/w-d-xo.html & this is for knits: th-cam.com/video/8xxL2B532ZA/w-d-xo.html. Next time I sew something with a V neck I'll put something together for you but I don't have any immediate plans for a V neck top/dress, so it may be a while before I film anything 🤗

Great video. Only found you recently, so need to go back and watch more. Love the blue fabric, is it still available?

Hi Sam, I have downloaded the badianne Top ( sweetheart Style neckline). As its a French pattern I wondered about sizing . Is it the same as UK sizes /
Hi Aine, the sizing is European sizing - so sizes 32 to 52. The size chart is on page 3 & is in centimetres 🤗

Hi would you do a video on different v necks so I can find one that I find easiest for me. Thanks
Hi Anne, I'm not sure what you mean, do you mean different depths of V neck or different finishes, such as bias bound v faced?
Different finishes please, I can’t seem to get them to look nice
@@Frugalisama hi different finishes please, mine don’t seem to be very good V
