Some really great patterns thanks Sam ! Would love to see the zero waste cardigan sewn up and also the tianas closet v neck top - that kinda reminds me of the tablecloth top they made on sewing bee!
I'd love to see how the zero waste Cardo goes together. And that last Mood vest is interesting. Thanks for the research. Now, to download some new patterns.
Ooo really like the Valerie vest and Penelope pants. Look very elegant but simple. I’m also intrigued by the zero waste patterns but have yet to brave any of them. Thanks for the suggestions Sam. 👍
Thanks! I’ve been quilting for a few years, and am thinking of trying garment sewing, which I haven’t done since childhood with help from mom. I think I’m brave enough to attempt the Tiana v-neck top. I appreciate the free patterns!
I love the Connie top, which would also make a great dress and the Riley shirt is fabulous! Thanks for sharing your finds with us also it was great advice to download the patterns NOW!
Many possibilities I was thinking about a dress as well now you have inspired me to do so. I made one for my sister with the middle portions being a nice fall print woven fabric and used a solid linen for the sleeves the cuffs used same body print.
Thanks so much. You must have been devastated to have deleted your first video. I always enjoy your videos even though we're in opposite seasons here in Australia.
Me too. Loved that Valerie Vest. The first thing that hit me was how high the waist is. That is what I miss about what we all called a House Coat in the 1950 to 1979. They were a looser fit of a waist coat. The overlap at the front was just right. Partial elastic sinching at the back. They were so comfortable. Now all we see are bath robes that look terrible unless you are tiny. So unflattering. A toga would be more sexy.
@@VickiCameron-tv3vfWe don't normally add a sleeve to a vest, but why not! There are lots of lessons for drafting a sleeve on youtube. Measure the armistice (arm hole) and give it a try. .
I really like these pattern suggestions. I've already done the PomPom for Frugal challenge and was wondering what the Anlukaa Blouse might look like with that vest.
Hi, I think it’s doable, you might need to redraft the armsyce though, as it’s more of a teardrop shape rather than circular & I think that would look a bit odd when a sleeve is added. Also, the bodice is lined , so you might want to consider lining the sleeve too ,
It's great to see you Sam 😊 Brill vlog with a lovely selection of free patterns, I just wondered if I could pick your brain 🧠 and ask you can you think of any free patterns which are like the hinterland dress please 😀 thank you
You're welcome, glad that you enjoyed it - closest I could think of was the Orla dress by French Navy Patterns - it doesn't have the button placket to the front & I'm not sure how size inclusive it is www.frenchnavypatterns.com/product-page/the-orla-dress-free-pdf-sewing-pattern
Just discovered you! Thankyou for the heads up. After 40 years I am back sewing and discovering pdf patterns!

I love that Valerie vest! I would wear it over a Freya top.
👍
I'd love to see the Mood Penelope Pants, particularly if you can hack some pockets (not patch!) into the front.
I'll take a look, it will depend on how snug fitting they are aspockets may create too much bulk but otherwise doable I should think 👍
Some really great patterns thanks Sam ! Would love to see the zero waste cardigan sewn up and also the tianas closet v neck top - that kinda reminds me of the tablecloth top they made on sewing bee!
Yes it's quite similar to the one on the Bee isn't it 👍

I’m just finishing the Valerie Vest but I think I need to put a simple sleeve to the elbow. Just not sure how to draft it.

Glad that you like them, I think it would depend what fabric it was made from
I want to see the Riley shirt and zero waste cardigan.
I would like to add a simple sleeve to the Valerie Vest. Would this be difficult?

@@Frugalisama thank you Sam I will give that one a try, I can always just cut the front and add seams and button placket to modify it 😀
