Knowing the books, I think the end of book 5 would have made for a more adequate cliffhangers. Like, right now, that's a weird way to end a season, but the way the 5th book ends, it would have made for a great cliffhanger without being a weird way to end a season...
I wish they didnt end the anime here but if you read the manga you will understand why. Next season is about to turn up a whole bunch of notches, its gonna be a wild ride!!
Anime only here. I kinda thought that, but still it's a no. I'd rather they ended the season with last episode. Okarun's realization is a good enough ending imo. Or if they want a round number, episode 10. Jiji was introduced, that's a classic season ender. Both are more reasonable season cut off. But this??? This is not it. What a cruel cliffhanger! Lol
@@casualpotato44 yeah most manga readers also agree it's evil as hell cliffhanger lol. If I was anime only this cliffhanger really would've been my invitation to jump to manga
For reference, the scene where they're preparing the dining table, Okarun was singing the1st ending theme of the anime SLAMDUNK, while Jiji sang the 1st opening theme.
When I heard them I had to check the LATAM version, but sadly they left in the Japanese voice instead of having the actors sing the translated songs, which are iconic.
Immediately started reading the manga after that cliffhanger and I just gotta say, I understand why they did it. This next part alone is going to take multiple episodes to cover and they gotta finish the show by end of year to be award eligible. Sucks but I get it. I’m hooked, everyone read this manga it’s so fun
same, as someone who started reading right after the 3rd ep, the Curse House Arc has so much going on, breaking the wall is when shit starts hitting the fan and keeps escalating from there so this was honestly probably the best point they could cut it. Going any further likely would have messed up the flow and not hit as hard as a finale (and there's one moment that I think'll work real well for the end of s2e1). It's a massive tease for anime-only's, but I think it'll be worth it with how well they've adapted the pacing so far.
The reason Jiji was getting his ass beat on by Turbo Granny is he was trying to treat her like a cat. You could see him trying to tease her with a cat toy before she beat on his ass.
5:07 Okarun and Jiji were singing the theme songs from Slamdunk. Ending and opening songs respectively. A GOATed and iconic basketball anime from the 90s. The pose they're doing is like guarding someone in basketball lol. Slamdunk is basically the father of Haikyuu. Hinata and Kagayema are undeniably modeled after Slamdunk's protags. One of them is an unruly red headed noob to the sport who's crazy talented and has untapped potential. While the other is a black haired too cool for school undeniably superior player with attitude.
Ya know, this is the most realistic scene all anime fans should like. Talking in English and Singing your favorite anime songs in Japanese (Where my karaoke buddies at)
I guess Slam Dunk wasn't big on the States, but I wish the LATAM dub had actually dubbed them singing the Spanish version of the songs. They are iconic.
Creamy Mami is an old magical girl anime with an infamous episode. In the episode the magical girl Mami died. The episode aired twice on tv. And both times there was an earthquake. It is said that the earthquake was crying because of Mami’s death.
As a manga reader when I saw the preview for this episode in episode 11 I was shocked they were ending it right at the trigger point of the arc! Season two is going to be hype!
In my opinion, i think they should've ended the season on the shot where we see Jiji's demented face when he says he can't sleep because of the monster (after the Taro and Hana reunion)
The folks who story-boarded this season really just said, "Well, it'll be popular in Japan. Screw everybody else!" The stuff going on with Momo gets resolved so fast in the manga that it doesn't actually make sense to leave it here unless you're deliberately catering to creepy 13 year old boys. People will tell you it's to boost manga sales but there's a scene coming up that would have taken them all of three more minutes of screen time to hit that would have been nearly as strong to leave off on without leaving a terrible taste in everybody's mouth. For what it's worth, I think this is the end of the author using SA as a hook to get teens to read.
The gray cat is more of a semi-solo Sidequest (omake) for Turbo Granny. We probably wouldn’t have gotten it at all in the main show (as it happens over time, “offscreen”) so having it be the ED was about what we were ever going to see of it (unless they ‘need’ filler at any point, which, I mean, it’s already part of the source material, so it would be a slam dunk). Also, they might have been curious of the extra space ‘at first,’ but just never got around to seeking a way into it.
This arc 💯 and in I was thinking how they are going to end season with starting this arc . But they did and I'm surprised. I realize that they played very well
I dont get the issue for this season finale. Just wait for season 2. Its as simple as that. This is told as a single continuous story and the pacing has been amazing, so for me continuing the story in a single line seems perfect.
So this is a good time as any, recently some animes are been created as one big 24 season however then they are divided in 2 season just to space out the release animes like the last season of re zero, Komi san or Bokuyaba are examples of this. That's why they end abruptly, I don't care if this means more time for the animators to finish the show but it's also kind of annoying.
@@Colp2ok cool, cuz as a manga reader this is such a weird spot to leave it. It doesn’t really feel like a “season finale”. But at least there will be a “season one: part 2” in less than a year
I understand from the manga why this ended where it did, but yeah I’d say this was the weakest of the season and it’s shame we have to wait for “season 2” (it’s really a second cour but whatever). At least it’s only half a year!

This probably the worst episode. At least hint at the coming creatures/villains for a proper cliffhanger…. (Glad I have the manga.)

This is the result they want. They want people to read yknow! I guess it worked

This arc is when Dandadan meets "The Conjuring", "Annabelle" and bit of "Dune".
meets “Godzilla” meets “Mobile Suit Gundam” meets “Alien vs Predator”
@@ezmokonnen That’s yet a later arc still, so not just yet
in my head, this arc was alot shorter but im just remembering the final battle after the main one

Okarun and JiJi singing the "Slamdunk" ost was hilarious!!😂😂
The slam dunk opening and ending surprised me, i sang along right away, who else was the same?😂
For those interested to continue this with the manga, you can start at Chapter 34 but part of that chapter is included in this episode.
Thank you!
thank you !
props to the dub for keeping Okarun and Jiji singing in Japanese
yuh thats the opening and outro song of SLAMDUNK

In Japan in the late 1980s, an enka singer named ''Danda-dan'' often appeared on television.
He was active for about three years and then retired.
If i were okarun id understand if momo went to jiji and back off. He’s such a funny, friendly and positive guy 😊
S2 of an anime that releases within a year of the S1 finale. what world is this. are the animators alive.
July 2025 premiere.
Considering they finished part 1 in summer this year, they’ve probably been working on part 2 since.
People not knowing that hand mask thing, is how I know they didn't watch Wizards of Waverly Place 😂
5:27 dub does that a lot where they speak Japanese lines
The cliffhanger was made in advance because they haven't made anymore episodes and they are building up the arc of jiji and his past

Exact same thing happened in Attack on Titan season 4, dumb ass episode leading directly into another season.

It was always confirmed 24 eps. They just split it into 2 cours for some reason
Where is Rana 🤔🤨
According to the uncut:
When asked why she wouldn’t be watching dandadan anymore she said: “🖕🏽” so y’know
@graystark240 what does that mean
Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel is a magical girl show from the 80's.
Not sure if anyone knows this but the Japanese songs that both Jiji and Okarun are singing are actually the OP and ED of Slam Dunk 😂 😂 😂
"That other voice actor" ain't no way. Put some respect on Aleks Le's name 😤
Whoever decided on that end point fumbled
I missed Aira 🥲but I loved seeing Jiji and Okarun developing a friendship❤️🤗

Jiji needs all that energy to climb them damn stairs
I get the cliffhanger but I wouldn't want them rushing the show just to end on a hype moment or reach a certain point.

I’ve been hearing rumors that season 2 or part 2 of this season will be summer 2025 and man do I hope so. They left it off in such a weird spot.
