Great job! We used a couple of these brackets in our pole shed to build our own workbench and love it. Using 1/2" plywood instead of the recommended 2x12 (or butcher block for your workbench)for the top is an interesting idea as well. We intend on on overlaying the top of our workbench with some mdf to get a smooth flat surface to work on.
Meh…what’s the original design call for? The mfg prolly paid big bucks to have an engineer bless it so they don’t kill anyone…Then, derpy derp, you come along and arbitrarily change it.

What is the spacing of the posts on your pole barn? I like those brackets, just wondering if I can span 14.5 feet or need to add support.
