    "let me try this on, see what it does". "i don't hear much". you could hear from the moon that it cleared the material, and made it smoother, without affecting the tone, the transients and the punch, which is EXACTLY what you want from such a thing and makes it great. so "let's drop it down 20 db, maybe we can hear". if the transients aren't affected, he can't hear. then "oh, my god, it affects the transients". "it's too extreme, i wish it had a dry/wet knob". which would have the exact effect, in this context, of raising the gain by a few db, which could easily be done by... raising the gain (or not lowering it by 20 db in the first place). but that's too complicated to process. "it should have mid/side processing". it sounds really cool and professional, right? cause everybody knows harshness is bad on the sides, but just bitchin' in the center. this is a prime example of why not everybody should make "tutorials".

    Interesting plug. Thanks for the tip. I’m going to try this. Can’t wait to see how it affects music..it seemed to work pretty well on sonic chaos so it should be useful.

    Great for removing shrill resonances in mastering. A simple undo arrow would be a big help Also, more resolution of Q on the lower frequencies. Wish the vid had the test on SUNG vocals, BV's, etc.

    You'll need both FUSER and RESO to be able to do what Soithe 2 can do, but I feel like you still missing a plugin because Soothe 2 can clean up muddy bass without side chain, while RESO doesn't even look for issues in that area of the frequency.

    Would you want to run the whole track start to finish (let's say on a vocal or guitar) and let it calculate all the resonant areas in the entire performance, or would you select just problem areas you perceived and address those?

    Hey raytown any advice on how to make the ch and ck sounds less harsh in vocals??

    • @RaytownProductions
      @RaytownProductions 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Could be mic choice (dynamic vs condenser) but if that isn't an option, try different de Esser plugins. They all tend to work a little differently so experiment with that. You can also try putting the deesser first in your plugin chain to catch those harsh sounds before flattening with compression. That will give it more to "grab on to".
      Hope that helps! Cheers man.

      One more thing - try the multiband thing I showed in this video (th-cam.com/video/ZSYJlpCaM7M/w-d-xo.html) with a faster attack. Solo the bands to find the harshest one and make the attack really fast. That should do it!

      I have this one and while it sounds great it also adds too much latency for the drums…which causes problems for a drum mix

    I stopped listening after you suggested to run the calculator to fix issues that can't be heard. If you can't hear a problem, why would you even bother loading the plugin in the first place?
