  • I am happy to present my new complete setup, which I used to make my last music 😀
    Hope you like it !
    Setup:
    Microfreak : chords
    Volca Bass: main melody
    Novation Circuit Tracks: Drums, bass, chords
    Korg NTS-1 / potarbox: reverb, ping pong delay, build up (using a noise osc and a low pass filter)
    PO 33-KO:Voices
    This jam was performed and recorded live to a stereo output.
    I edited the mix in Ableton, by adding EQ, compression, and limiting (to make sure we're getting the best volume out of the track we can)
    Feel free to give me your comments on the structure, the sound design, etc... so that I can improve myself 🙏
    If you appreciate id, don't forget to like and subscribe 😌

    You deserve way more subscribers, I've been listening to this and your other jam tracks and they're all such bops! This one especially is quite the earworm and I've had it on repeat for like an hour!
    Also as someone who is trying my hand at making electronic music myself, these jams are inspirational. Hope to hear more in the near future!

    Is the circuit tracks the brain of your operation or is it your computer? wondering how you synced all those machines!

      I never use computer during my jams.
      It's the Circuit Track that synchronizes all the machines 👌😊

    Do you have a Bandcamp or similar where I can buy this track?

    I really liked! I have a similiar setup with Microfreak, Circuit Tracks and NTS-1, and I wonder how you can use the NTS-1 to trigger effects to only one channel of the Circuit Tracks.

    • @ekzil35
      @ekzil35  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much !
      Effects on the NTS-1 are stereo effects .. so you have to use 2 input ports of the Circuit Tracks to keep the stereo. Here, both of the volca and microfreak are affected by the NTS-1 effects. To trigger the NTS-1 effects from the Circuit, you have to create a custom midi template and to refer to the midi implementation chart of the NTS-1 😉

  • @lucasrreboucas
    @lucasrreboucas 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hey man! Awesome track! Beginner question: whats the signal chain for this setup? Since you have only two inputs for external gear in Circuit Tracks but you are using more. Thanks!

    • @ekzil35
      @ekzil35  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi ! Thank you 😀
      I actually use a small additional mixer (you can see a part of it in the top right corner 😉). I connected the volca bass, the microfeak and the po33 on it. The mixer output is then connected to the NTS 1 input. And the NTS 1 output is connected to the 2 inputs of the circuit tracks (pan full left and full right, to render the stereo effect!)

    Cool tune! I'm currently building a dawless setup. How do you take care of the mix and EQ? Do you just get comfortable with the volume knobs being in different places? and EQ? thanks in advance!

    • @ekzil35
      @ekzil35  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you ! For the EQ I use the filter cutoff of each instrument (until I find that the tonal balance is enough good for me) and I fine tune it in ableton (in the master stage). for the mix, yes, I just use the volume knobs on the tracks 😉

  • @PAAmsterdam

      @@ekzil35 What would be fantastic were if you follow through on your plans to make a sort of "tutorial" for your jams. (saw your comment on an earlier video) :) Like scripted or texted "what happens where and when" :) Dont let it get in the way of you creativity though, as happens to many youtubers that tends to shift towards a more gear-like-focus.
      Got your list on repeat yesterday@work and I am reallly impressed by your minimalistic setup, arrangement and sound quality. Minimalistically VERY inspiring and really puts my gear to shame.

    • @ekzil35
      @ekzil35  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I see the idea for the tutorial.
      You must know @JayHosking's channel which presents well what is happening where and when, and which is also a source of inspiration for my jams. But ok, I'm really going to focus on doing this kind of tutorial, maybe on my next video 😉@@gunnarbirkeland7585

      @@ekzil35 Absolutely, he's on my list. Trying to shift focus from content-devouring to content-creation is hard in a social media circus mostly rewarding the click rate, often driven by hardware-manufacturerers. But enough b***ing already. Looking forward to your next moves

    the overall composition and execution on all levels is top notch, and I love the analog brass like chords especially
    What is the black box with all the knobs at the far right of your set up? Is it a MIDI controller or mixer of some kind?

    • @ekzil35
      @ekzil35  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The black box is a midi controller, it's connected to the NTS-1 to control the effects (reverb / delay / flanger) 😉
