First IMSA race I've watched in years. What a joke IMSA has become. Honestly, do the officials not blue flag back-markers if they are in the same classification? Watching the 8th place car set the pace of the 1st and 2nd place cars was infantile. And why is Barbosa given a license? Well, goodbye again IMSA,......the WEC and Blancpain have far superior officials running the show. IMSA is only a back-of-the-pack-also-ran. In other words,....loser.
Great race! really happy I got to go and see it in the flesh once again... It got wild near the end with the crazy weather! Mosport/ CTMP is such a good track for ballsy racing.
ChrisK I know right. I've been saying the same thing. They use to do a split screen for the starts for the grand am races all the time. Not even a replay to see how the bmws moved up 1-2 either.
Somehow better than having current position in class displayed in LED lights on the side of every car? (When pitting, the display shows elapsed pit time.)
I miss that silver Mazda so much! One of the best looking prototype cars of all time! Personally I think the Jaguar XJR16 is the prettiest... The 2011-2012 Audi R18 is also a damn good looking car... The Bentley Speed 8... The Peugeot 905... And the Panoz LMP1, which technically was ugly... But it's one of those cars that's so ugly it's beautiful. Kinda like the red head girl with freckles, braces and a little gap in between her 2 front teeth. You look at her and think "Why is she so hot? She's not supposed to be, but she is" That's the Panoz. Lol
169FLOZ only speaking for myself, I don't necessarily construe this question as a "complaint." Nowadays, two days is more significant for people that don't want spoilers and want the full race. I recorded via FS1 so doesn't matter to me. Nice to have it on TH-cam as well. Agree with your overall point though. I'm happy with more choices. (FS and IMSA apps).

I'm more than grateful that IMSA upload, however the Quali is uploaded same day but face is uploaded on a Tuesday. It's really sad when the street version of your favorite make is faster than the race version because of fucked up politics and might I say outright favoritism by IMSA. Must have a lot of frogs on their BoDs.
So a street C7R or Ford GT would lap a track quicker than than their race car equivalent, that I'd like to see? Racing in the rest of the world is not just about straight line speed.
Well they shouldn't be detuned. If the factory model has more power, let them use it. More power = more fuel consumption = more pit stops. If a manufacturer figured out how to make a car more aerodynamic, more fuel efficient, and have more power, they should be able to use it. Otherwise, there's no incentive to improve the car. In fact, there's not point in having different cars race. BoP aims at equalizing everything about the car and that's just wrong.
JoeyRodz74 look at what happened when they still ran in gt1 spec back in the mid 2000's. It drove out all the competition. I get what you mean but if it wasn't for BoP then races would not be Anywhere as close as they are today. look at Can-am. Amazing cars but the races were never close and then one manufacturer can dominate. Ie. The 935. The FIA GT series back in the late 90's and up to the mid 2000's had weight added to top finishers to even out the battleground, if I'm not mistaken. You won't find a solution that's perfect yet, I think without BoP the racing wouldn't be nearly as competitive as today. Nobody wants one team winning it all usually. It's not just IMSA. WEC and EuroLemans + Many other series all do BoP.
Oh I get it but I think they're taking it too far now and keeping better cars back because others haven't caught up. Classes could be set by power/weight ratios, for example, with no limits on either. Also, if you can't compete in GTML then don't enter that class, pick the next lower class. We're not talking small teams here (except for Risi, maybe and they have plenty of power that can be opened up), these are large manufacturers that can invest in R&D and tuning to be the best.
I need to say this again: The prototypes are fucking useless and pointless. They were the direct cause of EVERY SINGLE accident, yellow flag and red flag in this race. They either took themselves out, took some other category out or stalled in the middle of the track like the crap they are. Did the same in Le Mans, same for the Glen and they'll continue to do the same in future races. The prototypes take camera and commentator time away from GTx which is where all the real competition is. They are USELESS pieces of shit that go too fast in the straights and then can't turn worth shit in the curves. We already have NASCAR for that. Send the prototypes there.

BTW, many of the crashes in Le Mans and in this race were caused by GT drivers. It isn´t always the fault of prototype drivers, just because you don´t like the cars. I'm not suggesting that anyone stops watching the races with Ps in them. I'm certainly not going to turn them off because of it. I'm venting my frustration at what evidently is a half-cooked car that has caused the majority of recent accidents and delays. For all the regulations, BoP and other crap they throw at races these days, someone should look at the fitness of prototypes when running mixed classes.

As cool as it is to watch, its just a recipe for disaster. GT3-GTE-GT2 and whatever mix up is kindof accepttble, but try and add LMP anywhere in GT series and people might as well put Indycars, F2, and F1 into the list aa well. Its CHAOTIC, thats my point here. A nuinsance for the GT racers really, and for the LMP drivers as well. WEC does upload to TH-cam. FIAWEC channel. But it is delayed a lot longer than a few days before they put it up.

Balance of performance isn't perfect. But there sure isn't favouritism. A lot of the GT cars are actually de-tuned. Not just the C7R and the Ford GT.
