Thank you Josh. Excellent video. Yes, the TH-F6A is a great little HT. A real sleeper though. Many are not aware of its capabilities; especially the HF AM CW SSB receive function. And let’s not forget AM FM broadcast band coverage. I take mine everywhere as I do my iPhone!

I do too. It is a great radio, my favorite HT.

      This radio deserves everthing .
Excellent f6 not comparable with new expensive luxury ones with color screens and lots of useless flashy features.
Ssb usb cw dual watch sw wide rx coverage... etc

On those tiny speakers it is really easy to overheat the connection and have it detach from the cone or the back of the terminal board, even after 48 years repairing electronics I still wreck one on occasion! Fast soldering is a must! And they had the speaker glued in for a reason... to keep it in place so it doesn't fall out into the board.. Easy way to make some cash if you have access to the bad radios! Ones I see they all want new prices for old junk!
And PacParts is a great source for old stereo parts too! I restore older stereo receivers and use them often!

I take the test on Saturday. I don't even have my tech license, but the last practice test I took on Extra got me 94%. LOL.

When I came to the vid, I thought you were going to clean up the radio. But that's amazing that you were able to find replacement parts to restore the radio! Great video! :D

Dab of RTV Adhesive in the speaker rim. Secure the speaker. Stops rattles, helps Shock and Vibration.

Own one as well..a great trip bander to take hiking and listen to a bit of SW/HF Ham bands, especially with the 4000 mah battery...I perused that part store a few years back, but really didn't have anything to buy...thanks for the reminder it exists though, as I totally forgot about it!

About 2 years ago I went to a hamfest and saw a really beat up Yaesu FT-60. The keypads numbers and letters were worn off and the screen was all scratched up. I ended up contacting Yaesu (who sent me a pdf of the radio - exploded diagram) and i was able to pick what parts I needed. A few days later the parts arrived and the radio looks (and performs as new.) :D

Pac Parts is an authorized parts distributor for Kenwood, and other brands. For Kenwood, they handle parts for both communications (amateur radio and land mobile radio) and consumer electronics (home and car stereo). If you are an independent repair shop for Kenwood radios, Pac Parts is the place to go to get replacement parts. Kenwood USA only stocks parts for their internal repairs. So, it's not unexpected that Pac Parts would have parts for the TH-F6.
The TH-F6 is a good radio. 5 watts on the 222 MHz band is a plus.A friend has two F6's. He's vision impaired and finds the Kenwood to be pretty easy for him to operate. I had both an F6 and a D72. When the TH-D74 came out, I sold both and bought a D74. I think I got $200 for the F6 and $350 for the D72.
