Amanda's enthusiasm reminds me that as fun as it is to hear people joke on crummy movies, it's not only better when that person is genuinely passionate about films in general but hearing them talk about stuff they like is even better. Glad you had fun, and appreciate the insight.

Loved The Eight Mountains. Along with RRR, it’s one of the best bromances I’ve seen recently. The 4:3 format manages to capture both the beauty of the vast landscapes and the intimacy between the two actors. Also, the movie has been a surprise box office hit in Italy, 5 million €, mainly by word of mouth.

as an introvert. just leave me alone. that sometimes i think of dying movie is problematic. like if you are an introvert you need to be fixed and need a hero (a man) to rescue you and 'bring you out of your shell'. like naw brah. we just want to be left alone. and we for sure want to end the stigma of being an introvert. there is nothing wrong with us. we dont enjoy human interactions like extroverts do. we dont need help or fixing. i got my wife, like 1 friend my cats and dog. i'm good. you want to explore that we want to interact and are all just socially awkward. no. that perpetuates that we need fixed. i used to think that way. i forced myself into horrible social outings to try to meet people and blah blah. i hated it. all cuz i thought i was broken. i'm not. i'm just fine and perfectly happy with the way i am. so ya, that movie..booo

A failed shop was a combination cosplay workshop (essentially a thai outlet of knock-off goods) and a child care for the moms that would leave their kids to go to the other outlet mall shops.
Had the usual mtg and 5e folks being the predictable stereotype. With a big twist that the childcare side of the business shifted to autistic specialists which meant that all the kids up through delayed adults blocked out all available tables.
They also ran adventure league but all 5 tables were dm'ed by the aforementioned autistic students.

Onyx The Fortuitous and The Talisman of Souls, as you semi said, was made for the fans and funded by the fans. Andrew Bowser understands his audience, and so there are many details within the movie that most "normal" people wont pick up on. I hope more people will at least give the movie a chance with the knowledge that its a comedy above all else. So embrace the absurdity. My opinion is that the best indie films lean into their own absurdity instead of not going all in on the world they were initially trying to build.

Absolutely not on the topic of abrupt genre shifts, if you've never seen The World's End and know nothing about it, then you should watch it without even reading the description of the movie. It's a British comedy about a bar crawl and that's all it is. Nothing else happens. You can trust me on this. I recommend you give it at least 45 minutes if you find yourself getting bored the way I did, because it really picks up around that time

Movies need to learn that they can be 70-90 minutes

Anything with Tiffany Haddish in it is a hard pass.
A lot of these look really interesting and I can't wait to see them.
