    The fact that Millennium Force is 20 years older than Orion shows just how far ahead of its time MF was. Truly a groundbreaking coaster

    Millennium Force in 2019 was the first Giga coaster I've ridden so it'll always be special to me. I rode Orion in 2020 and i immediately felt i enjoyed Orion more than Millennium Force. I enjoy Orion's layout over Millennium Force's layout.

      Bro I finally rode millennium and it was my first giga it is very close to my heart millennium over Orion Millie = maverick
      Vengeance>Millenium

    Orion just has a greater sensation of free fall during its drop for me. You sit higher on the track and you’re out of your seat the entire way down. Millennium Force just can’t replicate that sensation because the trains sit lower and your not as elevated in your seat

    • @thecoasterbros

      I agree that Orion does feel like you’re free-falling more than Millennium Force; I just personally prefer the stronger airtime of the back row on Millie.

    Millennium Force is way better is has a really cool turn and a great view of the lake

    With the thin trains, lakeside setting, and imposing view of the lift from the whole queue, MF is the ultimate intimidation factor for the GP. And that's important as riding with a full train on MF is amazing. I have ridden Orion twice as much as MF and have never got anywhere close to as good a ride in terms of guest reactions or anticipation. The thrill factor for MF is off the charts for me.

    Unpopular opinion, but it’s Orion by far. Smoother, more comfortable. Also a much better layout.

    • @thecoasterbros

      I agree that it does have a better layout and is a little smoother. Millennium Force does have the slightest vibration. That doesn’t make too big of a difference for me though.

    Idk! That first drop on Orion felt like forever… maybe cause I was in the back lol that ride was a beast!

    • @thecoasterbros

      I agree that Orion has more of a “free-fall, lasts forever” kind of drop; but I just like Millennium Force more because of the longer trains and stronger airtime. They are both great first drops no doubt.

    Millennium Force stands alongside the Sandusky Bay, Gatekeeper is the Coaster that's next to Lake Erie Beach. And also, All of the years I've ridden Millennium Force, Ride operators never assigned seat ops. If I wanted to ride in the front of the Train, or the very back. I just walked past the operator, and BAM!! I went to the row of the Train I wanted.

    Orion craps on MF. MF has HORRIBLE operations... Especially for dispatches.

    • @grantcoorssen9653

      For real, MF dispatches are painful. Im talking 5 minutes between trains on the regular

    • @TheLoopCoasters

      When I was last there they were pumping out trains but the thing is that Mille has to wait for the train to hit the final brake run and clear the brake block so trains that are crawling add extra time to the ride cycle

    • @thecoasterbros

      In my experience the only issue has been that it has to wait for the cable lift, or wait for the block zones which slow down the dispatches-but I suppose we just visited on different days

    They both have pros and cons. I give a slight edge to MF. It seems to hold its speed longer. But I can ride Orion 20-25 times a day with a fast pass, no way that happens with MF.

  • @aj74205

    Millennium Force's locale and sustained speed take the cake for me. I lament that Orion could've truly been something special if it wasn't designed to stay within the shadow of not only Millie, but Fury. Imagine if Orion had shown the same kind of progression that occurred between Leviathan and Fury....

    • @thecoasterbros

      Yes I’ve also heard that Cedar Fair didn’t want to upstage Mille and Fury 325; and if that’s true, I wonder how much it played into the design of Orion.

    • @aj74205

      @@thecoasterbros My guess is…a lot. It would not have been hard for them to build the same coaster at even 300’ to achieve a 313’ drop, and then it technically wouldn’t have been as tall as Millennium anyway. They also could have kept the layout low to the ground if steel cost was an issue. It could have traced the existing Dinosaurs Alive paths through the forest to create something truly memorable. Instead it’s a mostly uninspired layout where the first two elements fail to deliver any sensation, and it’s pretty definitively the worst B&M giga. I can see how some prefer Orion over MF, it does have some floater pops and glimmers of the kind of shaping that made Fury great, but it’s not the same.

    Millenium Force may have lost the battle in ride experience, but with station music and lighting, this is the best party in Ohio. God Dang do I love the Millenium Force song.

    Orion is an amazing coaster. The only problem I have with it is that it seems way too short. Milli seems kind of boring after the first drop where as Orion has the second sideways hill. I love that part on the right outside seat. You literally feel like you will go to space. Lol

    Giga ranking- i305, fury….. big drop off… then Orion, leviathan and lastly MF- I get it’s iconic status but the layout just doesn’t do it for me

  • @thecoasterdad9808

    I love both of them, however I still rank Millennium Force just a lil higher than Orion. I personally love intensity over the more unique elements of Orion. Which makes me want to ride Project 305 that much more. I feel it will end up being my personal favorite Giga when I get the chance to ride it.

    • @thecoasterbros

      Yeah Project 305 is a different kind of beast to these two. It’s just a matter of preference if people like that kind of intense experience I think.

    Usually when it comes to Hyper's and Giga's, B&M usually is the better one because of reliability, a lot of airtime, and they are better with making theming work

    • @thecoasterbros

      I don’t know about theming but I agree with you about the reliability for sure.

    I rode M.F. as my 1st giga and maybe it's because of that that I prefer it to Orion, but I think Fury 325 beats both of them. I've ridden all three B&M gigas and M.F. and for me: M.F. comes in after Fury 325 and before either Leviathan or Orion. But Orion uses what it has to better effect, since it has 20 years of tech, and it's the newest B&M Giga and therefore the smoothest. But I still think I prefer Millie, and both are best in the back car; but Fury 325 is best in the front. In any case: Both M.F. And Orion are my 2nd favourite coasters in each park respectively; I prefer Diamondback to Orion and Steal Vengeance to M.F. In fact: I may even prefer Diamondback to Millie! But neither can top Fury or SteVe.

    • @thecoasterbros

      I also prefer Diamondback to Orion and MF. And of course I also put SteVe over both as well.
