@Lindy T It's a shame you went through trauma, but unfortunately the world is mostly trauma and heartache. As a human you're never safe (a lesson many refuse to admit) but the most powerful thing you can do despite that is to never let the world dim your spirit or turn you into the very thing you hold contempt for. You will never have the feeling of true safety in any part of your life, the sooner people realize this the better off they'll be, else you're just waiting on a fairytale ending that will never come. Live your best life and I hope you at least find contentment.
@Lindy T I am so sorry to hear you had to go through that. You did not deserve that 😢🤗💛 Please turn to Jesus, the comforter, healer & friend. This isn't cute. Though I know the owner means well, you do NOT train a dog out of aggression for whatever reason by letting it nip and bite you! In more cases than not, it will only cause more aggressive behavior. With that being said, AWWW WHAT A CUTIE AND I'M VERY GLAD THINGS WENT WELL!

@@danielloh1174 Hmm, well, that's a question of a more philosophical sort. But, essentially, the fact that human life is inherently even more precious than, say, the life of a dog or cat or fish, isn't too hard to discern inherently by logic. By that I mean: Why do we put on hand sanitizer, or fry our meat before we eat it? By doing these acts, you are killing millions of bacteria, who are biologically animals as much as we are. And yet as we do it, we do not have a sense that we are committing some sort of atrocity against nature. Another example: Why is it okay for people to kill insects? Or why can competent authorities put down an animal that is dangerous to people, while the death penalty for humans is such an ethically complex issue that in many countries it's banned altogether? In a nutshell, the fact that we are aware that human life is inherently more precious that the lives of simpler animals (e.g. bacteria, viruses, insects, sea sponges, etc.) points to the existence of an inherent moral hierarchy that exists among us and other beings in nature. That same hierarchy continues to operate as we consider the relationship between us and more complex animals -- which is why, for example, a bear that has escaped from a zoo can and should be put down before it can kill someone. As I suggested, the existence of this hierarchy can be discerned by our own reasoning and experience. Case in point: Killing an animal may be a painful or even traumatizing experience, but you will not be changed by it as profoundly as you would be if you were to murder someone. As to the WHY -- the rationale of this hierarchy -- there are two ways to look at it. From a merely secular standpoint, humans are the most complex creatures in the known universe, so it stands to reason that human life ought to be prioritized over animal life. Also, any society that fails to prioritize human lives over animal lives has lost its capacity to safeguard the well-being of its own people, which pretty much means throwing the entire social contract out the window; which, in turn, would contradict the very reason humans are social beings to begin with. Last but not least, from a spiritual and theological standpoint, the reason why human lives are more precious than animal lives is the fact that humans are different from animals in a fundamental way. That's the most basic, catch-all version of the answer that probably all or most religions can agree upon. As a Catholic, I can give you a more specific version, though, if you're interested. :) Here goes: So basically, the essence of a thing is the core of what it is. The essence of a chair is to be an inanimate object. The essence of a cactus is to be a vegetative being that has life, but cannot have a unified sense of self. The essence of any animal is to be a living creature that is capable of subjective experience, and is composed solely of organic matter and biochemical processes. The essence of a human being is to be a creature that is partly an animal (because there's an aspect of our being that is ruled by matter and biochemistry) but also, partly spiritual -- because we are capable of choosing to live in communion with God, which means that unlike animals, humans are endowed with spiritual, rational souls. In other words, you could say animals and humans are a quantum leap apart. It isn't just that humans are "a little bit smarter." Rather: God, who endowed us with brains that are capable of abstraction, also grants us spiritual souls that can harness those powers of cognition in order to seek Him, find Him, and live in communion with Him eternally. Still, the fact that humans are special in that way, doesn't mean that we don't have a moral responsibility to be kind to animals. Needlessly causing any sort of pain to an animal is a transgression against human dignity itself, and it's incredibly displeasing to God, who is the foundation of all existence. Anyways -- sorry haha, I didn't expect to write a whole essay there -- I just thought you were posing a serious question, so I wanted to give you a serious answer. I didn't want to oversimplify. Sorry for the overly complicated response; I hope it's at least a tidbit useful. :) Have a lovely day!

But most don’t :(
It boils blood that someone would even consider hurting a sweet innocent angel like this. The people that takes these animals in and gives them love are truly heroes.
the fact that being a normal human anymore is considered an angel or a hero is EXTREMELY depressing. It should be the most simple common sense in the entire world to treat an animal with respect, it should be the BARE MINIMUM to expect in any human being. By 3 years old you should know this crap (obviously be taught that, no kid will automatically know), and be punished the same way as an older kid or teen if they disrespect a dog This is a sad world we live in. Well, if that's what needs to be done, then let's start calling everyone a godsend for treating their dogs like normal, cause in reality it really is. so much abuse and ignorance in the animal community. i see SO MANY families just letting their dogs outside without a collar or leash, them getting run over and they yell at the driver instead, or people letting their dogs bite others, growl, bark, etc. pooping without picking it up, so much more honestly. maybe there needs to be a class you have to graduate before being allowed to get a dog.

I used to have a boss that was an extreme power tripper and would purposely change things around just to piss people off or upset them, even if it could possibly hurt the business. He’d also fire people he felt were threatening to his position. Didn’t matter, it was worth it to him. He also regularly made fun of his brother with severe PTSD who worked there too. As an abused child growing up, i know what its like to live in fear daily.. It took me 20 years to get over the first 15 years of my life.. My Son didnt grow up even getting spanked. He was an honor roll student and I tell him daily how much i love him.. That cycle ended ! Bless you for be patient with this little doggo 🙏
Bless you !! Same here, dont think anyone ever really "gets over it" though. You are left with a legacy, behaviours, triggers etc. I can't leave anyone cold or hungry, vagrants to mice !! 😥
And I always feel like it’s gonna fuck the dog over because that dog trusted you and loved you and he doesn’t realize your intentions he just feels like you got rid of him and I feel like that creates mistrust and has to restart the process if that makes sense
I know I could never give up a dog I had fostered who loved and trusted me after living in horrible situations. Arnold truly loves and trusts her now, so how will that poor little guy feel when she's not there anymore. I have a rescue dog who I adopted in 2014 when she was less than 2 years old. I fell in love with her minutes after seeing her and if I'd just been a foster, no way I would've let her go. She's my heart and I cherish every day I have with her.
I personally don't think I'd ever be anything other than a foster failure for every dog who came into my life, HOWEVER we need to be very thankful there ARE PEOPLE so dedicated to SAVING THE LIVES of shelter pets that they're willing to hand a dog they love over to the perfect adopter(s) IN ORDER TO SAVE ANOTHER SHELTER PET FROM BEING KILLED DUE TO LACK OF SPACE OR RESOURCES. Fostering is one of the most selfless, unselfish, and loving things humans can do for these precious angels in fur coats who are scared to death after being dumped in kill shelters through no fault of their own. Every time a foster sends a dog to their forever home, it breaks their hearts to say goodbye, but they know it's the only way to save more lives - and they know dogs are resilient enough to adapt and develop trust with their new owners. And I think that makes them heroes!

The ability for a person to show an animal "If you need to hurt me to feel safe, that's ok, I can take it. I'm gonna love you whether you want me to or not." That's a rare and beautiful way to love.
@natalia gomez hi natalia, I related to what you said a lot. idk what you went through exactly, and know our experiences arent exactly the same, but I also know that familiar experience of never being safe or being able to trust anyone. I'm not gonna lie, the thoughts never go away completely, and sometimes you still feel like a little kid back in that bad situation. but please believe me that there ARE people out there that you will love with all your heart, and who will love you back. you will be able to love fully and with open arms, comfortably and without fear one day ❤️ ❤️
This brought tears to my eyes. Looks just like a little dog I found shivering in the street this past winter. I took him home and he lives with me now. He's never going to be cold, hungry, or scared again.
It’s hard to be betrayed like that by the people we love. My mom has apologized to me now. But it doesn’t take much for me to go a little bit feral. You recover, but you don’t forget.
Doesn't matter how many times I watch this, I always tear up. Poor little fella; she's right, no one, except abusers themselves, deserves to live in that kind of fear every day. Hope he's doing well wherever he is now.
Sad part is, if he were picked up by animal control,he'd be thrown in a pound...and if he eventually bit someone else,he'd be deemed aggressive and put down!
@@imafirinmahlazahr not at all, no. i don't think any abuser deserves to live in fear, as one who has experienced anxiety. it's traumatizing, and while it'd be a good lesson for them, it would NEVER be the right solution. if abusers, murderers, and whatever else are open to being changed, then change them with kindness, and love, and care, and safety. teach them boundaries and what not. putting them in a state of mind, or a physical place that can hurt, damage and tear apart the soul is something no one should go through. anxiety is scary, it really really is. it's truly damaging. i'm still not even in the right state of mind, at the current moment of my life, and still battling to kill off those final bits of anxiety clogging up my brain, so i can be social and make new friends. once you have anxiety, it never leaves you. no one should go through anxiety, as i've stated multiple times. no one should go through what that dog and what i've gone through, and what many many other people have gone through.
Amazing how precious he is that even wheb deeply afraid of ur touch he just pretends to bite. No matter how much violence he experienced he really doesnt want to hurt anybody not even as a last resort. What a good little boy
Idk about that, it might be even more sinister, maybe he thinks that if he actually hurts people he will get hurt even MORE and that's why he doesn't do it
@@Doctor_Straing_Strange Yep. I would seriously doubt a dogs capacity for compassion when they are that afraid. Best not to anthropomorphize animals. They precious and sweet enough as their animal selves.
The most impressive part of this whole thing is that despite being terrified and snapping.... he's not biting. He might be tiny but he could do some damage if he wanted to. But he just grabs the hand almost like he just wants to keep that hand from hurting him. So sad.
My guess is he's trying to defend himself, but past experiences taught him that defending himself can result in retaliation, so he's just doing what he can to try and fight back without receiving even more ire in return.

I bawled my eyes out watching this video & grabbed my own rescue because we went through this EXACT process together. Me too. How horrible to live in fear 24/7. I'm still crying, I can't handle animal abuse. I wanted to be a Vet, but I knew I couldn't handle it emotionally
Always have had big dogs. October 2021, SUV pulled up to our park and tossed a little dog out and drove away, 6am. Vet estimated he was 6-8months old, Chihuahua . We tried locating owner, in case was stolen, but after a week, he wasn’t leaving our house. Our 80lb lab and he are like brothers now! Sweetest, happiest LilDog , loves everyone! Attached to me at my hip every second at home. Great watch dog too! We are the lucky ones! God bless you for giving Arnold the life all dogs deserve! ❤

Even though he's so frightened, shaking and crying... Not once did he bited you harshly.... What a kind dog... didn't deserved the sadness and bad treatment he received... Poor baby :(
The one of the dogs i rescued made me bleed cuz i had to corner him even tho he was just a 6lb Chihuahua. I didn't want him to run off in the street id rather have him bite me.
I sure hope you found that baby a good loving forever hm. I have a chihuahua that is 17 the love of my life. They are very timed dogs without being abused so I couldn't have imagined that babies fear. Thank you for being patient and loving him you are an Angel sent from heaven
A dog we adopted was a lot like this. The mile stone was a year after we adopted him, we dropped him off at the vet to have his teeth cleaned. I'll never forget his expression upon picking him up later that day. He seems surprised to see me as if to say people dump me off at places like this. When we got home he suddenly opened up to the realization he was...home.
My Yorki-poo is also an abused rescue. He had been returned 6 times because of his attitude. When I dropped him off for his first groom he freaked out so bad that they couldn't do him. When picked him up he stood on his hind legs and wrapped his little arms around my calf as if to say please give me a another chance. When we got back home same reaction that your describing. Happiness and relief.
dang , thats some huge emotion to watch the dog being so afraid of being touched , sickening to think there are such cruelness towards animals , i feel sorry for any animal being living in that kind of state . but one could tell he is feeling her warmth while time goes by . and then as thats not enough , she is gonna give the dog o good home to be placed in , just the thought of her giving away the dog after getting so close to him,her really gets me emotional .
Oh good. Time to get rid of him so he can start the process over again. He will come through but it seemed pointless to work with him just to get rid of him
Dont get confused. while cruelty is wrong, that only exists within the space of humanity. In the wild none of that really matters. Dogs are the only true domesticated animals, so they are the exception and should be free from abuse.
So cute when you rubbed his chest and he suddenly felt calm. That's gotta be like the magic spot for petting dogs. So happy this cute little boy finally felt love ❤️
The fact he never once actually tried to bite shows how compassionate this dog was even with his guard at maximum. He never wanted anyone to hurt like he was. And because of this, he was rewarded greatly. 💜
@@mm4847 well when he’s trying to get his jaws around the woman’s hand and she literally states that she thought she was going to get bitten, your argument doesn’t really hold up. However, if you have eyes and ears, it’s clear that it was trying to bite her
Why are people SO evil. I just cannot imagine what that poor little pup must have been subjected to to be that terrified and whimpering with such fear. Can't stop crying. When his tail starts wagging in the bathroom ... just adorable. How lovely for him to realise what love and safety is. Finally. You are wonderful thank you. 💗
Why are people so evil? Mostly because of their upbringing. The people who abuse animals have been abused themselves. We don't have shelters for humans. We are pretty much on our own in this world. If you grow up in a loving family chances are you are going to have empathy for living things. Rare cases, some people are just born evil and seek out to hurt all living things. I don't have all the answers, but I just know we live in a jungle. The world is not a safe or kind place, it can be brutal and one must find strength in ourselves and put ourselves in the shoes of others and always care for our animals friends.
Just a thought. All the abuse this precious little guy probably went through happens to animals all over the planet every second every day. Just because we decided we don’t love pigs and sheep or cows as much as dogs doesn’t mean they don’t suffer the same. And we put them through the same kind of abuse that little guy probably went through and worse. If that makes people evil in your eyes, which is understandable, maybe we should rethink the way we treat animals as if they were things.
When he was crying and crying in fear... but STILL never bites.... He just didn't want to be abused, but never used his own weapons.. Damn that hit me so hard, burst into tears.
@@baryaakov555 that came completely out of nowhere. People are having a serious discussion about animal abuse, shame on you for making this about vegans, and for being so rude about it too. It’s folks like you who give vegans a bad rep. I mean really, insinuating that we support animal abuse just because some of us eat chicken is a completely irrational conclusion to jump to. It takes a special person with the patience of a saint to do this. I had a rescue that turned on me and bit my arm and would not let go. Just be aware that it could go sour especially with a big dog. Be careful and ladies dont ever get a dog you cant handle. These animals are dangerous and you can even die..
I wish people would treat other traumatized and abused PEOPLE this well. Abused PEOPLE would love to be treated this gentle and with this much understanding too. 😢
That's exactly what I was thinking! Since I've disclosed the severe trauma I went through with my ex-boyfriend, my ex-husband has been cruel beyond my comprehension! I thought I could trust him with this disclosure (we remained friends after separation) but I have learned that the more I shared, the more entitled he felt to punish me for things from OUR past after being separated for eleven years. Imo, people whom were raised in an abusive home, have the "gang mentality" to abuse the abused. It's akin to "kicking a dog while it's down". God bless thoe people whom are kind to the abused, and show them genuine love, kindness and humanity. ❤

I've worked with hundreds of dogs just like this and worse volunteering at a large animal shelter. Some people are downright evil when it comes to someone smaller than them that they can abuse. Some dogs I've worked with for up to six months before they are finally deemed suitable to be adopted. I had to change one dogs name because if you said it he would just turn into a quivering trembling crying mass of fear and dread trying to disappear in a corner. It's completely heartbreaking to see the results of what some people will inflict on their dog. Thankfully I've been able to save hundreds of lives over the years and gotten these wonderful loving dogs into forever homes with loving families, instead of ending up with a euthanasia needle which is where that cruel treatment usually leads to. Adopt, don't shop for pets.
Another side of the same story; I went to the local shelter to put in an application for a little 10# yapper so my dog would have company. We recently relocated, I didn't know the shelters policies. I walked out with an emaciated 35# boxer/lab mix. Can't tell you why, he had big eyes, didn't bark, would puff up and wag his tail when I looked at him, and totally deflate when I looked away. I took a chance. He was tied up in a yard for a year, seized by animal control. Poor thing probably never saw inside a house, terrified, nippy, and had no use for people. Took over a year to gain trust and show him what I was for. Four years in, he's great! Lazy house dog, beds, couches, steaks, hikes in the mountains, runs on the beach. He's a healthy 75#, protective of his home and family, especially his adopted Mom, my older dog. He's happy and appreciates the life he lives. Keep doing what you do. You may not get to see the fruit of your labor but it's a wonderful thing. Really love my shelter mutt.
I’m also a volunteer at a shelter, but I work with the cats since I have more experience in that arena than with dogs. But it’s often the same story with abuse and neglect, and to see them transform is so wonderful.
My best friend of 15 yrs, 8 when we got him, was a rescue and his spitting image, but 2lbs lighter and floppy ears.... living on the streets of Manhattan with a giant burn on his side they told me world never heal. He was the sweetest boy on the plant, a real therapy dog... he went everywhere and did everything with me: snowmobile, motorcycle, cutting the lawn on the tractor. God I miss him...He'd melt into you when he hugged you. Lord I miss that. Within 3 yeras there was no sign of that great big burn scar. I'd like to think it was healed by love.
I agree that it would be great if he could stay with her forever, but people who foster animals can help thousands of them if they have space and time to do that. Sometimes rescuers can't keep any of the animals, but they save thousands of them for that reason.

This is a special situation and should be treated as such by whoever chooses to take them in. Should not just be another regular foster situation
@psh1011 I absolutely agree with you on that! There are so many well adjusted dogs (and other animals) in shelters who are only there because their owner gave them up but the traumatized/abused ones like this sweet little guy should be given special consideration and get to stay with the foster person who helped turn them around and they should be that dog's forever home. i don't understand where their logic came from, until today no rational human being able to convince me.
:) Here goes:
So basically, the essence of a thing is the core of what it is.

@@mrsmuggins8167 🤗💛
Why are people so evil? Mostly because of their upbringing. The people who abuse animals have been abused themselves. We don't have shelters for humans. We are pretty much on our own in this world. If you grow up in a loving family chances are you are going to have empathy for living things.
Rare cases, some people are just born evil and seek out to hurt all living things.
I don't have all the answers, but I just know we live in a jungle.
The world is not a safe or kind place, it can be brutal and one must find strength in ourselves and put ourselves in the shoes of others and always care for our animals friends.
@@mrsmuggins8167 These rewards are all that matter.

Such a great story!! So happy for the little guy!!
Thanks. I'm glad you exist

I wanna give this dog all the kisses in the world 🥺 what a precious little baby! That lady did a good job earning his trust. I'm so happy he found love and safety
Hello Evelyn
How are you doing today?
I'm sure you do.. genuinely (I am conflicted with that knowledge👀)
i had ask myself and other people for almost 23 year 7 month why most of the human being think human life are more precious than dog or cat. the answer i always get is because life span & they will ask me if i am a pet owner or pet.
i don't understand where their logic came from, until today no rational human being able to convince me.
This was my dog when we first got him. He bit my leg the day we met and we’ve been best friends ever since. It hurts knowing people hurt these beautiful creatures
Much respect..
Amazing perseverance. You can tell a lot about a persons character by how they treat animals. Respect.
Thank you for being so kind and loving to the poor little guy. I have tears in my eyes.
Me too.
@@richardreid3268 Me three.
Traumhaft. 🥰
You are an Angel. To see this dog so terrified and then because of your experience, knowledge, patience, and love, become the little sweetheart he is was so heartwarming :) Thank you for giving him a good life where only fear, pain, and suffering had been his life. May God bless you all yours days. Thank you for letting us see Arnold happy and loved.
Great job. Your way was the right way. Thanks for giving this little dog a new life.
I cried as soon as she started scratching his chest! I will never understand how anyone can be cruel.
I bawled knowing there are more suffering at the hands of abusers! But my heart swelled when she regained his trust!
It brought a tear or two my eyes too.
This was heartbreaking. The amount of suffering he's been through to have this kind of fear...I'm so glad he found you! Thank you very much for your kindness, may he live a long and happy life!
He falls in love for the first time in his life, and she gives him away. I could never do that.
This doggy looks just like my little Peanut...RIP.
So glad this baby has love now. Thank you for making that happen. You are an angel.
He is peanut butter now
