Parallel lives works. Tawnos doesn't cast the spell, he copies it. It's a different game action than casting. Hydroid Krasis specifically mentions cast.
The copy tawnos makes is created on the stack so it is not cast, copies are only ever cast if their source explicitly says ‘cast the copy’ like isochron scepter. Tawnos just says copy so you don’t get additional cast triggers for your copies. Parallel lives doesn’t work because a copy of a permanent spell on the stack becomes a token when it resolves. it doesn’t create any tokens it just turns into one, so it doesn’t trigger parallel lives which is looking for tokens being created.
It's in the rulings that they act like token creatures, but aren't considered token creatuers for anything that triggers for token creatures or targets token creatures, at least from what i read. don't quote me on it though

You mention on the Hydroid Krasis that you only get one cast trigger, but doesn't Tawnos copy the cast, not just create token copies?
