Great video. Good presentation. Tight and informative. You're off to a great start. My all time favorite unplayable card is Spirit Mirror. With a ridiculous amount of setup, it can be less effective than most 4 mana boardwipes!
Love the format, love the concept, I've always been obsessed with finding ways to break "bad" cards, I've subbed and I'm sure you are going to scratch an itch I've always had. I'd love to see a series of this but for commanders that play very off-centre, like Xantcha, Sleep Agent.
I'm not taking issue with your video because it was informative and gets right into well argued points, but this is one of those cards that blows my mind when it comes to people calling cards unplayable; 4 mana for this sort of effect is a pittance if you ramp into it soon enough which is pretty easy in the right green deck anyway. Ditto anything that lets you play lands from the yard. I've seen much, much worse cards that involve way more hoops to jump through. I think I'd even put it at a 3/5 over your 2 in the right kind of deck, something like Lumra where it's not just a mitigated downside but arguably a payoff as well.
As a man who plays a lot of jank I’m definitely going to follow this series! This card might actually go into my baba lysaga deck. It has enough ramp, recursion and land to graveyard payoffs that this card might slot in nicely
It's exactly where I'm running it and it works extremely well, also whenever I play it, the rest of the table go "what the fuck is THAT" and it's funny every time
I clicked on the video because I already knew of the card and wondered if you would talk about Slogurk the over slime. My friends built Slogurk and uses this to great effect. Good video, I’ll subscribe!
Ahh hell yeah! Shout outs to ma boi Realm Razor 🙌 I build a pretty mean deck with it, Overlaid Terrain never quite cut it for me in the main board. Maybe I should give is another try. Thanks for the reminder 😁😁 here is my unplayable card suggestion: "Bellowing Fiend"
I've got this in my Yedora deck. I cast it once life and limb is in play. It gets a lot of confused looks from tables that havent seen either card before.
Good video. You could have mentioned Vernal Bloom which makes the Nissa effect better, but it was probably too similar to crypt ghasts effect to mention. Could you do a video on Descent into Madness ?
I’m enjoying the concept and production of this. It’s great to see people take supposedly unplayable cards and find ways to use them (and it got my brain going to coming up with uses). Looking forward to more of these (and curious to see if you find any truly unplayable cards). Oh and also love you started with a card from Nemisis. Masques was my first block and I have a fondness for it and finding uses for its cards.
I just yesterday learned about a card that blew my mind... and actually makes banding and walls seem fun? Fortified Area. Gives your walls banding and actually allows your walls to work together. Build your own castle!
This goes hard in the land sac list i made (WGRB). That list already runs squandered resources, depletion lands, and things that (conditionally or not) force my opponents to sacrifice their own lands like the 1BB braids and destructive flow
I do think this card has a lot of potential and I've been wanting to work it into my Lord Windgrace deck. Scapeshift is already in there doing a ton of work, but this card can also do a bunch in there.
Gosh, I am sorry to admit I'd forgotten about this card. I think it might just be the tweak that 'The Word for World is Forest' needs to emerge from design funk and become a real deck. Nice!
Crucible of Worlds is great if you're NOT in green. Green has.... Conduit of Worlds Ramunap Excavator Ancient Greenwarden Walk-in Closet and Perennial Behemoth All significantly less expensive than Crucible of Worlds.
Overlaid terrain came in the same set as slippery karst which tapped for two mana twice then exploded so you could technically turn 3 it and then put down another land and play a two mana card
I'm adding this card to my budget necrobloom deck I'm heavy on land recursion from graveyard and landfall token generation with drain on token creation so it's basically otk potential
That would be insane! Though Murphy's Law states that if you ever draw this hand, your next opponent will instantly destroy Overlaid Terrain with a Nature's Claim :(
Please review "Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore", its timeshifted equivalent "Evil Eye of Urborg", and summarize the rich but tragic history of the seven (real) Barons of the house of Ormsby-Gore and their (real) connection to JFK and the Rolling Stones, EEoO-b-G is EASILY the most real-world lore-rich card in Magic.
3:30 - better: tap only 4 lands, cast Overlaid Terrain, and (with the sacrifice trigger still on the stack) tap your other 3 lands for 6 mana. End up with 3 floating mana on top of the now 14 mana available to you.
This is great with strict proctor, who already has a mamá combo with lotus field. You just refuse to pay the tax and bam, mana doubler with no downside
Another unexpected youtube algorithm recommendation finds me something interesting to watch.
I've never even heard of this card before.
Loved this video! Excited to be here at the beginning of what I expect to be an amazing channel!
Great video. Good presentation. Tight and informative. You're off to a great start.
My all time favorite unplayable card is Spirit Mirror. With a ridiculous amount of setup, it can be less effective than most 4 mana boardwipes!
Appreciate the positive feedback and I LOVE Spirit Mirror. Great idea. I will definitely do that card soon.
Agreed, this is a very nice presentation, right to the point, well-researched, and delivering exactly what it set out to do.

Oh I'm an absolute fan of making terrible cards playable. I always love to see the reactions of my friends :D
I'm looking forward to this series!
Thank you for the positive feedback!

Great video, you’ve obviously put a lot of thought and preparation into this channel. Excited to see what is next
This could definitely be a boon for my Erinis / Scion of Halaster deck
I’ve been looking for some jank for a Necrobloom deck. Overlaid Terrain will go hand in hand with Splendid Reclamation!
As a man who plays a lot of jank I’m definitely going to follow this series! This card might actually go into my baba lysaga deck. It has enough ramp, recursion and land to graveyard payoffs that this card might slot in nicely
It's exactly where I'm running it and it works extremely well, also whenever I play it, the rest of the table go "what the fuck is THAT" and it's funny every time
Interesting series. Please do more of these:3
I plan on doing at least one a week! Thanks for the positive feedback though :)
Thinking about this card with a Ramunap on board alone is fantastic, especially if you have the dorks to cast something like hedge shredder.
I saw this and instantly thought: “oh this is so good for Necrobloom”
Titania, Voice of Gaea might also like it assuming you can play the melding land after its ETB trigger.
May need to pick one of these up for my Yuma deck, which rotates Deserts through the graveyard anyways.
Similar thought . I want to try this in the new hazezon alongside desert warfare
This was such a good video, so sad when i saw there was not 100 more to binge. This will be suck a cool channel.
Thank you for the positive feedback! I am planning on doing at least one card review a week!

Realm Razor is so unique... I'm a fan. Also, great suggestion on Bellowing Fiend. I will add it to the list!
I've got this in my Yedora deck. I cast it once life and limb is in play. It gets a lot of confused looks from tables that havent seen either card before.
@@blakezekin553 that's a cool combo! I like it.
Good video. You could have mentioned Vernal Bloom which makes the Nissa effect better, but it was probably too similar to crypt ghasts effect to mention. Could you do a video on Descent into Madness ?
Nope, I just forgot about Vernal Bloom. Good catch! I will add Descent into Madness to the list though. I like that suggestion.

Review Dubious Challenge.
That's a great suggestion! I've added it to the list :)
I'm putting this into my Yuma, Proud Protector.
My man didn't even mention Titania or grave gardener smdh
(actually he did mention one in passing, but that's huge!)
I just yesterday learned about a card that blew my mind... and actually makes banding and walls seem fun?
Fortified Area. Gives your walls banding and actually allows your walls to work together. Build your own castle!
great first video! cant wait to see what other stuff you cover!
I’m gonna love these videos, keep em coming friend!!
This goes hard in the land sac list i made (WGRB). That list already runs squandered resources, depletion lands, and things that (conditionally or not) force my opponents to sacrifice their own lands like the 1BB braids and destructive flow
Who's the commander?
You forgot, Gauntlet of Might. Which only works for Mountains.
@@WawrzyniecTheIII Good catch! It wasn't meant to be a complete list but I should have mentioned this one.
Perfect for my incoming old frame Gitrog Monster deck!
One with Nothing maybe as a card to review?
Also thought One With Nothing would be a good card to review
Good suggestion! I'll add it to the list.
There's a lot of decks i have where I'd play this in a heart
Loved the format, hope to see more of your content :D
I'm only a few seconds into this video but I will say right now that this card works brilliantly with crucible of worlds
I really liked this showcase, especially since I brewed around with fewer lands and land sacrifice with Yuma, proud protector last weekend 😅
You've got my sub. What a cool channel idea!
i think you should overlay this video with more videos. great work!
Nice!
Great video format, looking forward for more!
I ran overlaid terrain in my red green terrivore deck , back in the day that is.
Cool Series! Waiting for new cool Videos!
just wait till you learn about Tomb of Urami (sick deck tech for necrobloom gamers out there)
Another great option for sacrificing lands!
5:40 that's super cool
Great video. I’m surprised you didn’t mention crucible of worlds which could still work, depending on the type of deck you are using.
Good point. That card would pair great with Overlaid Terrain!
Crucible of Worlds is great if you're NOT in green.
Green has....
Conduit of Worlds
Ramunap Excavator
Ancient Greenwarden
Walk-in Closet
and Perennial Behemoth
All significantly less expensive than Crucible of Worlds.
you can also trickbind, stifle, or voidslime the sac trigger.
Definitely going to be a consideration for the Necrobloom deck I'm workshopping right now. I'm addicted to making jank work.
Love this card, great analysis!
I love seeing this card talked about
Forgot to mention how it works well with Balance and similar white symmetric effects.
Good stuff I run it in Korvold mulch
Great video, just subbed. I would also include the price of the card upfront. It's nice to know this card is only 71 cents!
@@PrestonMidgley Good idea! I will do that next time :)
Nice channel concept! How many videos do you already have planned?
@@solarupdraft Thanks! I've got about 7 - 8 videos currently planned, but I'm very open to ideas if you have them.
grest video, keep doing this kind of content 🎉
Overlaid terrain came in the same set as slippery karst which tapped for two mana twice then exploded so you could technically turn 3 it and then put down another land and play a two mana card
cool video idea, giving garbage cards a home where they are actually good is my favourite thing about commander
Got this in my angry jellybean Omnath deck. I play more lands from my graveyard usually.
I'm adding this card to my budget necrobloom deck
I'm heavy on land recursion from graveyard and landfall token generation with drain on token creation so it's basically otk potential
Overlaid terrain works like a charm in my Yedora deck animate my lands get them back immediately when sacked but now tap for double😂
The perfect opener: lotus petal, mox, sol ring, into Overlaid Terrain, land per turn
That would be insane! Though Murphy's Law states that if you ever draw this hand, your next opponent will instantly destroy Overlaid Terrain with a Nature's Claim :(
@@Unplayable-MTG I should be so lucky. Nah, they gonna hit me with an Erase so the Terrain is exiled and I don't gain life lol
Could be interesting in Six, since you're already sending lands to the 'yard
This is my white whale of jank. One of these days, I'll crack the puzzle.
It's time to throw it in a deck and try it out. The future is now!
First comment on the first video
...Necrobloom?
3:30 - better: tap only 4 lands, cast Overlaid Terrain, and (with the sacrifice trigger still on the stack) tap your other 3 lands for 6 mana. End up with 3 floating mana on top of the now 14 mana available to you.
@@MeZimm sadly this doesn't work as Overlaid Terrain sac's your lands as it enters, not when it enters.
Auto subbed.
This is great with strict proctor, who already has a mamá combo with lotus field. You just refuse to pay the tax and bam, mana doubler with no downside
Actually, this doesn't work :( Overlaid Terrain isn't an ETB, but rather an "AS it enters" trigger. Otherwise this would be a great combo!
