Have a 2009 ZX14 special edition. The color I love. Burnt candy orange - just a stunner. The power it has is fantastic... you don't have to have it high in the rpms to access the beast, and because of that it is such an easy bike to ride in all conditions be it slow or fast or ZX14 hyperspeed.
Hi there, love your ZX14R. I've had my 2012 ZX14R since 2016 here in Perth, Western Australia. Still love it. Love the bottom to mid-range torque. Smooth engine. I also fitted a naked style handle bar conversion. That was a game changer for me at 6'2", much less weight on my wrists. Also recently upgraded the front brake master cylinder to a Brembo RCS 19. This is also a excellent upgrade imo. Cheers 🏍👍
That is a beautiful bike. I found out a guy at my work has one, it really makes you see somebody in a different light when you know they ride a firebreathing dragon like that. He told me that the faster it goes the more stable it feels. Amazing machine.
Love love LOVE my 2014 ZX-14R “couch rocket” (matte black w red monster stripes), bought recently w only 2400mi. Very comfortable, VERY powerful, very beautiful and VERY powerful (yes, I said that twice). ECU flashed, lowered 1”, grip risers (1”), Two Bros slip-ons, Zero G Corsa tinted screen, tinted brake light, Stompgrip tank grips, and Shogun side bumpers. Just added the perfect tail bag for a ZX-14R … Rhinowalk Motorcycle Travel Luggage available on Amazon. Ride safe!!
Haha that's great. Best of luck. You should def be able to find some low mileage ones out there well taken care of. The original owners of these treasured these bikes for the most part. I got my 2017 in 2021 and it only had 3800 miles.
I rode a late zx11 for years, loved it. The 14 was my next bike. Now years later, I'm getting one in the next few months. I want a 16 or newer. Absolutely love these, being 6'2" , brings a whole new appreciation for the roominess on these 14s.
The ZX early gens looked good too! This is a 2017, basically identical platform from 2012-2024. Only difference has been the color schemes. I think if you get low miles and can see it's been taken care of, the year shouldn't deter you too much. Best of luck!
I sold my R6 last year, I miss riding so much I was thinking of the safety aspect of it and due to my age and know I find myself looking at bikes again.
@@RedMoonRising24I've been riding Kawasaki motorcycles all my life. Starting with the KZ then the GPZ then the ninjas. I miss riding them so much. But I'm 63 now. Lived through 3 accidents. One was bad. None my fault. All left hand turns in front of me. But my reaction time and alertness isn't what it once was. I could ride again if I wanted. But common sense is telling me no. I have a mustang dark horse now for my need for speed. Don't let no one influence you. Do what your heart and soul tells you.
Not gonna jump on you, as I’m sure you already know the risks and probably hear it all the time. But I do wanna say that’s a LOT of power and WEIGHT for a first bike. I strongly recommend taking a MSF course if you can, and just take your time learning. The handling is not quite the same as modern superbikes, and is probably more akin to the Hayabusa, which sits between a superbike and a sports tourer. As someone who daily’s a second gen Hayabusa, this is the best advice I can offer: “ride YOUR ride”. YOU set the pace and the safest line for your situation. You won’t always be able to catch the riders on newer, lighter bikes, follow their lines, or do some of the same stupid shit they do…nor should you. But every now and then you can reel them in on the straights or even the corners as your handling improves. Anyway, I’ve run my mouth enough. Hope this helps, and I’ll pray you keep both wheels down and the shiny side up. 👋🏻
@@RedMoonRising24 Just for the heck of it, thought i would mention it.. Had my first front tire replacement today at 5159 miles. Just a note. Replaced the S21 to S22 Bridgestone, works well.
Have a bone stock 2022 ZX14R. I put a pingel electric shifter on it. I have screws and plate in my foot helps me a lot. I wondering how strong them extensions are I'm 260 lbs . I drive like I stole it. Just saying pingel shifter helps wheeling 2nd and 3rd. With out you let up on gas and bring torque back in
I'm sure the extensions are strong enough for 260 lbs. I've never had to tighten them or anything and it was a guy who owned the bike before me but I never met him in person. Glad you can still ride with the pingel!
