Not the wrong key . When your buy a key from the Dealer it comes pre-coded to your Vin > Engine Ecu and FEM Module . The procedure your trying only works if you ordered the key from the Dealership . Otherwise you would use a locksmith to create a dealer key from your Bimmers FEM + Engine ECU + Vin Number . Once a Dealer Key has been created it can then be activated for your Bimmer .
All keys are not equal. Just because is looks the same doesn’t mean it is the same. I’m a locksmith. You have two different things inside your key that need to be programmed. One the transponder which starts the car. Two the remote which control the locking and unlocked of your car. For the most part you can program the remote but it will not start the car. To program the transponder you need a connection to the OFB2 port. This coding is special and if done wrong can cause damage. BMW requires programmers to get a license from them. Play it safe, pay someone to program the key.
I do key programming for BMW. The key needs to be prepared by a programmer before you initialize it. Virgin key means that its empty and able to be programmed using a programmer. When you get a new key from dealer it already holds your cars VIN number and immobilizer data. Only thing left is to hold on steering column to activate it.
Not true in my case. I ordered FOB from out of state dealer and provided VIN. FOB will start car when held to column but will not restart or open doors unless repeated. BMW wants 140.00 to program a BMW Factory fob I got from another dealer. They suck in this respect
That's because only 2 keys can work in comfort access mode at the same time. Your lost key has to be disabled before the car will move on the the next working key slot. They always tell you programming will be needed for comfort access when they sell you the keys.
The guy on the forum bought a key that BMW programmed from the Master Code File for that VIN , the buyer only had to initialize it like the way you tried to do. He did it himself instead of the dealer charging him another $50 for labor.
That makes sense, the fact that you'd need some sort of dealer assistance in order to program the key. You wouldn't want some unscrupulous person being able to obtain their own key for your car just by buying a blank one and sticking it up to the steering column.
It does work that easy BUT you have to have your other GOOD and WORKING Fob in the car with you next to the new Blank fob also you need to make sure the new fob has good batteries
My original key for my 03 bmw 745i starts the car in the fob slot but doesn’t lock or set my alarm at all… If I can’t fix it, would I still be able to program a new one on my own by using the steps you mentioned?
Your key fob has in it a small chip, just like the chip you can have injected under the skin of your dog or cat, when you take your lost dog to the vet and the vet "reads" the information in the chip containing your file and knows where the dog belongs,, your car carries under the dash another microprocesser or chip reader with a log of all the keys that are identified as belonging to your car, Your BMW dealer can look up your vin, and look at the origenal keys that were made to the vehicle when it left the factory, and make a duplicate with that key fob information, Or you can buy one, take the chip out from the car, program your new kew to the car, and it will be identified when you stick it in the car as belonging to your car. This also explains why you cant unlock another BMW with your key.
It would never work this way. The replacement key is a legit aftermarket key but you need to program it. For BMW only 10 keys and exist in the car memory. The codes are preprogrammed in the car memory CAS4 unit. 1 and 2 or even 3 are used by default when the rolls out of production. So you need to get the other codes and then program that into the new key. All the best in getting the code because BMW is BMW and the stealership would charge you a limb and a kidney for this. The aftermarket keys are generally programmed by tapping into the CAS using special hardware to obtain the codes and then use another hardware to code the keys themselves. If the key is unprogrammed with the specific codes the error that is saved is "Unrecognised key used, please use key assigned to this vehicle".
Ok so you need to get the key programmed to the car either by going to a dealer or a locksmith then you activate it by doing what you were doing.First u need to get it programmed and do note that most dealership will refuse to program aftermarket key as they want u to buy it from them. After key is programmed to car activate it by unlocking car with oem remote(then keep it far from car) and putting new one next to steering column and press start button.Do more research before trying this tho.

Soooooo, don't buy a blank FOB unless you have a standalone programmer and are able to read the table in your car's head unit to find the 10 acceptable numbers that your car was given. Oh, if you want to add the Comfort whatever if your BMW has it, you need to delete the association between one of the original 2 FOBs and the car in the head unit. I guess they just wanted mom and dad to feel the luxury and make the kids have to work for it. :) It's not a total loss, it can be programmed by a REAL locksmith who really knows their stuff, but not one who just did the Internet Locksmithing course (although with the Internet course, you'd s#1t your pants afterwards finding out how easy it is to get through you locks on your house). :)
You have to have a tool that plugs into the obd2 port to initialize it. I’ve been making bmw keys for a few years and I have never heard of pairing without the special tool. That little mark on the steering column is for when the battery is dead in the fob and you have to hold it there to crank it. Hope this helps you out. I’m sure you can do a search and find someone to do it other then the dealer. I know 2 other guys within a hour of me that do it. Good luck buddy.

Nice sophisticated burp. Ok. So I ended up calling up a local guy who had his own business to do keys. He actually did several keys for me and showed up at my house since I locked myself out. For a replacement key on a Infiniti and two house keys I believe were under $300. Try your local business. Everyone has deals dude you never know.
Nowadays people choose what to believe...Being a key specialist, I am tired of explaining to people why the fxxk BMW genuine keys cost that much and magically just work by attaching them to the steering column...

Make sure the WORKING key is in the car, put the NEW ket by the wheel AND START THE CAR, the CIC will allow you to program the key, the working key needs to be in the car
Bro.. just hire a professional locksmith or buy one by your vin thru the parts dept it comes programmed so just stick the tip to the mark on your steering column and keep pressing start button
Lol, key has to be program internally to your immobilizer/vin. This is done at the factory. What you doing is trying to do final initialization. Nope it will not work. If you people can’t effort a key at the BMW dealer, why on Gods Green Earth u buy a car like that!? Malaka!
So for those to work you need to order your key from bimmer-tech and they preprogram it for your specific vin. You have to send a picture of your drivers license and registration to them to prove it is your vehicle and afterwards you follow the same steps you took to activate their pre-programmed key for your car. You had the right idea just didn’t but the key from the correct site.
Wow that was helpful...............................................................................................................................said no one......................................................................ever!
took My E60 to the Nashville dealer for service a few times, and you are in their system. Took it back for . recall the next time and ordered another FOB. When I went back to pick it up they would not give it to me unless I had the original title. Asked the girl to speak with the person with the highest decision making power on site, and was told the same thing. How can they have serviced my car several times and given my FOB back to me, and now an extra fob requires the Title? If they thought I stole the car, why only now do I need a title? Told them to keep it,after it was programmed and left. Now I only have had 1 FOB for a few years. Really need a spare. BMW service department bites the big one.
I took my friends acura for service. If I could get a spare key without her knowledge I could give the car back to her, then come back at night and steal the car. YES you need a fucking title!
@@sergiydrabott9487 Not for nothing, but if you took her car in for service you could have just kept it too... Though it is true, and right, that one needs to prove ownership before they can change anything - it's pretty ridiculous that you have to be the original purchaser of the vehicle (which is what this guy was saying...i.e. "original title"). I doubt that's actually true and that he could force them to yield with a valid and current title.
Firstly ensure your original key is far, far away from the vehicle so that it doesn't interfere with the original key. To do so, hold your new key fob flat against the low key battery indicator on the side of the steering column. Then hold the start/stop button until the 'no key' warning light disappears. Press the start/stop button again to confirm activation was successful. If that doesn't work then your key wasn't properly coded to begin with as these steps only register your key but doesn't actually program it.

It didn't work. When you get a new key that is already programmed, you need to do that thing where you put it against the steering column, to kinda sync it to the car. But that key is literally blank.
It's really not that hard to steal a BMW or any other car and it takes less time than programming you FOB. You just have to know what your doing.... and be a felon.

Hey Bearded Reviews, I actually just bought such a replacement key and tried the exact same thing as you did (holding the key close to that keysign, switching on - just as described on some shady websites) Turns out they bullshited us both as you cannot just add a key like this. You need a programmer and things that cost about $3000 online. I even wrote with those guys on whatsapp and they confirmed to me that "it is very easy and they will send me a tutorial amongst the key" - which they did not of course. So have to go to the bmw workshop, they then program the CAR not the key. the car gets wired up with a laptop and programmed with the new key's ID. Hope other people also see this video before they buy such a key for some hundred dollars as I did (or $60 like you). greetings from Munich and thanks for the video Max Aigner
The programming device costs $300. I bought blank key off amazon for $20 and programmed it using the computer. $320 total and I still have the computer that can program other cars too.
It amazes me that people cheap out on something they literally use every single day. Do you cheap out on your phone? Is your car cheap? No then why pay for a shit product. So stupid. Call a locksmith or go to the dealership
The goal is to get the same product for less money, kind of like when you see premium gas for 20 cents cheaper across the street, or when your mom's hourly rate goes on sale for memorial day
The real question here is... how in the hell did YOU get a BMW? I mean, you're plainly not a neurosurgeon or an astrophysicist, the way you drunk would suggest selling a kidney was out, and, genetics functioning as they do, I'm disinclined to suspect inheritance...

Daniel Lebron Chinese can’t repair keys bro
Oh my god lmao
That's ricest.! Lmao.!!
Lol!
Rice eaters are only good at copying shits.
PEOPLE IF IT WAS THIS EASY YOU COULD STEAL THEM ALL!!! WAKE UP!!!
Not exactly... You need to have a working key with you in the car to "program" the new one
Nowadays people choose what to believe...Being a key specialist, I am tired of explaining to people why the fxxk BMW genuine keys cost that much and magically just work by attaching them to the steering column...
Hard To Believe can it work
It's possible to PROGRAM THE CAR to accept the key (and not program the key ... omg ...) ONLY AND ONLY WHEN: you purchased the key into a BMW dealer. Because BMW will program the key with a encrypted serial relative to your car VIN.
@@richrich2366well you need your actual car key to make this control work
First the fob have to match exactly it can be done refer to your owners manual
Hold the key on the steering column and hold the start button until the search for key goes off let go of button press it again it should start
first your replacement key fob doesn't match I'm getting ready to try this myself but my new fob matches my original one
You have to hold the start button for 30 sec. Relase and press it again
So you didnt actually "code" anything? Just pressed buttons and rubbing the steer column with your new key?
Yea, but I didn't rub it very hard. It was a pretty gentle rub. Let's not get crazy with the accusations here
Same did not work. Bought off amazon and im gettign an incorrect key error
The burpppp best part of the video 😂😂
This video is almost 3 years old
Proof that not all BMW owners have class
But they all have BMWs!!!
Make sure the WORKING key is in the car, put the NEW ket by the wheel AND START THE CAR, the CIC will allow you to program the key, the working key needs to be in the car
Car starts but when i go outside with both keys, and click lock and unlock with new key fob, they wont work!!
Your kidding right?, f it were that easy you could take a new one home every week.....
🤣🤣 ya people clearly don't think.
lmao do u acc got so many dumb ppl in usa
Bro.. just hire a professional locksmith or buy one by your vin thru the parts dept it comes programmed so just stick the tip to the mark on your steering column and keep pressing start button
take old key in car with you when you programming
Did you manage to get it work ?
LMAO!!! If only it was that easy to add F Series keys! Even using AVDI the keys have to be Eeprom added!
Wow that was helpful...............................................................................................................................said no one......................................................................ever!
Maby you bought the wrong key with the wrong MHz ????
It should start
I'm with a bmw z4 2014 lost key
Do you indicate any equipment to make this key?
You'll need a Immobilizer Programmer. They're not cheap.
The key needs to be program by a lock smith
yep
@@beardedreviews Did you ever get it done?
If that worked then a untrustworthy passenger could programme a key and steal it at a later date 😂
What is the bottom diamond shaped button?
Turn on the lights
You made me laugh 😅 I really thought it’s gonna work..
took My E60 to the Nashville dealer for service a few times, and you are in their system.
If that doesn't work then your key wasn't properly coded to begin with as these steps only register your key but doesn't actually program it.
need to get the right FCC ID match first of and second you didn't do the car procedure correct....im 3 years late but I'm sure someone on here told you already 128514
Why disliked this video? It’s so mean
you need to program this key with bmw programer u can buy this stuf on online shop for 3000€
Good deal! I'll take 2!
Did u figure it out?
lol I wish
Bearded Reviews Me too
ugh, I have a 2011 F10 55Oi, I was stoked when I saw your video title, leading to a huge dissapointment! did you ever try having a dealer program it? I'm in Dallas and need help! I bought the same key you did and they are adimant that its devirginaized and ready for programming
So to steal a Bimmer you buy a 60 dollar fob and program it like that , seriously people
It didn't work.
As far as programming a BMW FOB (like the F33), it requires 2 things. Your car has (if I remember correctly) 10 factory FOB codes and a car code in it. You need to program one of the 10 FOB codes into the FOB with a programmer then (computer term coming up) hash it by putting the FOB up to the steering column so the FOB and the car can talk to each other. During that conversation, the car reads the number that you programmed earlier into the FOB with the programmer and then if it's one of the 10 (and not currently used by another FOB) it will hash that number with the car code and then the FOB will work. :)
Did you ever figure it out? Have similar issue
Call professional locksmith

The key’s is programmed not to work for fuck knuckles.
Hello, Bearded Reviews
The solutions are:
- Go to BMW to ask for programming the key to your car, and finally you could program the car.
- Open your washed key, unsold the main ship, and sold it on the new key circuit.
- Purchase a key to your BMW dealer ...
Good Luck
LMAO the comments about the burp tho
Any updates? I had 2 keys with bmw and only 1 works, i tried to code the other one also by placing it in the steering colums but it didn't work, then i thought mabey i need to buy a new key fob, bought new key from aliexpress and still didn't work, now im stuck, anyone can help?
You did it wrong. I repo cars. Some you apply the brakes some you don’t. You should have tried different ways. Also my keys always came from bmw
BMW ONLY can program theirfactory fobs. I got one from a BMW DEALER..(from out of state friend who works for BMW) It will nOT WORK unless I take it to dealer and pay $140.00. That is it in a nutshell. Even Factory BMW fobs have to be programed with your car present. Yes it sucks!
BTW they will not program a non BMW fob EVER. They can tell if its a clone
Ken-o Grogan $140? Thats not bad , i called other day to BMW dealership and they quoted $550 for 750 li
Grossest fucking burp, thanks for that
no problem, lady!
😂bmw requires advanced level procedure on bench without car using ews cas3 cas4 fem bdc immobilizer fem to read eeprom, bmw keys weather lost or add same procedure
Dude, what happened to u at 2:20 ??? ;D Cheers
You definitely got the wrong fob! I was able to program mine on the first trial!
Really? Can you elaborate
dude how can you start your car with a empty key??? if so then anyone can start your car right? that sensor near the steering is for low battery key to be recognized by the car, not for any programming...
The struggle is real! LMFAO
Best video ever...BUUUUURRRP
Though it way
Why link it how would a blank work lol lots of stolen bmws
Bummer tech 425$
That's preprogrammed to your vin and codes to your car remotely on the steering wheel.
Purely stupid...Dealer's new key was pregrammed before...By attaching to the steering column it is an activation process not pairing or programming.. Wake up people. There is no cheap ways to do it.
Sell the BMW before it costs you a fortune . Ask me how I know .
Name ser
People expect a bmw to be that easy hahahahahah. Code it with a key lrogrammer first then activate sequence obv
Did you just burp sir? 🤥
Yes I did, ma'am
NEVER PUT YOUR WATER DAMAGED DEVICES IN RICE! PLEASE. YOU RISK DESTROYING IT PERMANENTLY.
I washed mine and it's dead 🤬
Hope other people also see this video before they buy such a key for some hundred dollars as I did (or $60 like you).
greetings from Munich and thanks for the video
Max Aigner
Max, did you get any bmw dealer or locksmith to program it for you??
Cost is 380.00 for BMW FOB. They ONLY can program. They WILL NOT program after market FOB.
The programming device costs $300. I bought blank key off amazon for $20 and programmed it using the computer. $320 total and I still have the computer that can program other cars too.
@@gregthegreatofficial can you share a link?
@@gregthegreatofficial could you explain how to program your car to the key????? What program did you use??
Bring both keys into the car then do it
Why would you make a waste my time video if it did not work why post the video
😂😂😂 come on dude if it was that easy youe car would be gone next day
🥺
It amazes me that people cheap out on something they literally use every single day. Do you cheap out on your phone? Is your car cheap? No then why pay for a shit product. So stupid. Call a locksmith or go to the dealership
The goal is to get the same product for less money, kind of like when you see premium gas for 20 cents cheaper across the street, or when your mom's hourly rate goes on sale for memorial day
You burped and never say excuse me
Burping...really🙄🤮
No that was your imagination
Bearded Reviews background noise then😜🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 omg what i just see man🤣🤣🤣 on table key programming or if not cripted obd job. Call locksmith man😩
The real question here is... how in the hell did YOU get a BMW? I mean, you're plainly not a neurosurgeon or an astrophysicist, the way you drunk would suggest selling a kidney was out, and, genetics functioning as they do, I'm disinclined to suspect inheritance...
TH-cam pays well and so does the stock market. If you want to put me in your will I'll take an inheritance any day though
