Hi Vannesa, can you please take a video about protecting your personal information as a blogger, I saw a video of a blogger, who some sick dude stalked, and he figured out where she lives, where she is working out, etc. When I went through the comments, I was terrified, some bloggers were talking about cases where even their kids were kidnapped, for money. Also, the case where some sick dude calculated when the girl had menstruation, only by images of food she eats and her mood swings, that happened in Korea. Bloggers were talking about, not shooting videos of themselves near windows, so the view will be visible, also, don't shoot videos near street names, with shop bags, etc. Also better avoid telling where you live, will be great to have a list of things better to avoid as a blogger, to minimize stalking.
All the things you named at the end should be common sense who blogs daily but gives subtle hints where they are they are compromising themselves due to their own stupidity and desperation to be seen when they are already on camera
This is probably my 7th or 8th video I've watched on podcast setup, and by far the most simplest explanation on products!! Thank you for creating this.
First time I saw one of your Videos. I just want to add two things. You definitely do not need to know what all the numbers mean, but: The Sigma lens shown is made for FullFrame Cameras and the ZV-E10 is an APS-C Camera (Sensor is smaller). Therefore the 16mm shown looks more like a 24mm and the 11mm looks more like a 16mm. To get the equivalent of a Full Frame Lens you have to roughly multiply by 1.5 (16*1.5=24mm). I am just saying this so people who are starting out and buying a cheap Full Frame camera (like the Canon R8) should not make the mistake and buy an 11mm for Full Frame. That would be almost FishEye und does not look anything like your picture. No hate comment. I just want to help. If there are any further question, no matter who, let me know. I will happily answer them.
The lenses are NOT made for full frame. They’re aps-c lenses. If you use them on full frame you’ll get vignetting. Sony and all the other camera brands still use the full frame equivalent focal lengths though, so you still have to do the math. But don’t buy the sigma lens thinking it’s for full frame.
I just upgraded from the Sony ZV-1 to the Sony ZV E10, and I'm loving it! I kept the old one for a backup camera in case of emergencies. This is a great video, thanks for sharing it!
Ooo you could use your zv1 as a webcam too! Maybe that could be a good use for it! This video walks through how to do it. I think you should be able to turn it into a webcam!
@@VanessaLau Such a good idea! I’m currently using it as a second angle, but I’m loving the E10 so much (specifically the no recording limit) that I want a second E10 for this purpose now 😂
Thank you, Vanessa. I ordered the Vlogging setup today & I'm so looking forward to not need 14 different things for a camera setup for vlogging interviews!

Good look. Smart lighting. Nice going. Tips, for setup 1: get that mic off the camera and get it close to your face. Hand held is okay, but other wise: We hear the room/ echo. Get a magic arm, clamp it to the tripod, and put it just out of frame and close to your face. Use an extention chord to keep the connection with the camera.. Re: putting most money in the lens: put the most money in the sound. Cheap microphones can sound good, just make sure they are close to your face.

I’m a little late to the party but I’ve looking at reviews and tutorials on the pocket 3. I watched this video all the way through and found it very interesting. I’m a small time motorcycle vlogger who uses GoPro’s. I currently use a 10 for how to videos and off bike stuff and a 13 for when I’m riding. I’ve been looking at the pocket 3 for a while and have just decided to get one. Thanks for the video.
As a recovering blue yeti user: do not get an usb mic. The amount of money you save in the mic purchase will quickly be lost in the amount of editing and babysitting it to get a proper/ acceptable sound. That time will result in less videos made more lost assets and general frustration. Shure IS expensive but these things also have a big impact on productivity. Also @VanessaLau just called my cramped work room a hell-hole in fluent feng-shui. Like damn that place looks cleaner than an ikea ad.
The 16 mm Sigma shows you closer than you are because you have the image stabilisation ON(steady shot) and it crops by 1.44x factor. Basicly, the 16 mm turns into 23 mm on APS-C camera like ZV-E 10, or 35 mm on Full frame camera. The 11 mm Sony, multiplied by 1.44x factor turns into 16 mm. Turn off steady shot an you will see the difference!
Hi Vanessa, quick question about the DJI pocket 3. I see so many good reviews about the Osmo pocket 3 and was wondering, why wouldn’t a person use that as their main camera? Are the other cameras better for long form videos? Just wondering. Thank you. Also awesome video btw😎
Wow that earned you my subscription, a lot of youtubers gate keep their gear not sure why when it isn't a secret that better cameras equal better quality. But you were so generous with showing us everything you use so really appreciate that and you really sold me on that Osmo wow.
A really wide-angle lens will distort your face when you're closer to it, in photography if they're doing headshots you usually use a 50 mm or a 70 mm lens because you don't get a bunch of the face warping effect. Now it's something like an 11 mm lens you'd have to be decently far back to keep from getting some of that lens distortion. I've been working with cameras for years, don't worry you look fine on the camera, just kind of bring that to your intention in case you didn't know but I wouldn't get too close to it or you might start to look like a fisheye lens sortof Now on the zve 10 if you run it in 4k 30 that will make it crop and even more but you can put it on 4K 24 frames per second and you'll get a wider field of view, and if you're using the lens stabilization on the camera it may also crop in so you're wide lens may not be as wide as it could be if you're running 4K 30 frames per second and have the stabilizer on, that'll make it crop in big time. I turn the Lin stabilization off because it's always up on a stand or a tripod and I keep it on 4K 24 frames per second and I get the widest field of view possible

Thanks for sharing your camera set ups! Very insightful. Heard many good things about the DJI osmo vlog set up. Might have to jump on the bandwagon and get one!
So, what to say here? Well first off, thank you so much for actually going through every thing you use and fully explaining it. You are the first that I have watched (I have watched many) that actually did that. I now know a lot more than I did before. Thank you for that. Now for added info. Lol. I work as an online teacher. I both stand up and sit all of the time. I am also writing books and am selling them online for children. I am making videos for that as well. I am doing a teaching TH-cam channel. So as you can see I do many tings. I don't want 3 setups, so which one would you recomend for teaching, vloging and sales vids?
This is a super useful video. Just over a year into my TH-cam content creation journey and I’m figuring out how I can optimise the budget I allocate towards my video setup… It’d be insightful to hear more about your perspective on part time TH-camrs and balancing investing into the set vs time taken to break even…
Just a quick note. I have the OSMO POCKET 3, so there is no plug-in with my camera, however I did at one point plug in my lap top when I was using it. NO MORE! A few trips on the wire created havoc, especially when it warped the metal power plug connection which I had to go to Best Buy to extract or purchase another one from Amazon. I too have a constant companion in my studio, but I live in a small village in Northeastern Brazil. When SIMBA hears the bulls roaming in front of our compound his sudden dash out the door can reck havoc in my careful gear set-up Now I just make sure it is fully charged before I use it. A lot cheaper than having it repaired. 😎
I am excited when I am able to invest and improve my content. Yours looks so good and I love your transition slides. I appreciate how simple your set up is. I know people that use a different camera and lenses depending if they are vlogging or sitting down.
To kick start on TH-cam or just to figure out how about content creating and you have a small budget then I think and it seems to me de DJI Osmo might be the best option.

No hate comment. I just want to help. If there are any further question, no matter who, let me know. I will happily answer them.
Thank you
The lenses are NOT made for full frame. They’re aps-c lenses. If you use them on full frame you’ll get vignetting. Sony and all the other camera brands still use the full frame equivalent focal lengths though, so you still have to do the math. But don’t buy the sigma lens thinking it’s for full frame.
This may be the most helpful video I have ever seen!! Thank you!
Thanks Vanessa, I was looking for equipments to make better vlogs and I found your video. This video really useful for TH-cam beginners.
Thank you! Yep, even at 700k subs “ beginner” equipment still works like a charm! Doesn’t need to be *toooooo* fancy!
Hi Vanessa, can you share with us where are you finding background music on your VLogs?
@@easyenglishlessons1 This is interesting. I want to know where Vanessa gets her background music.
I’m currently using it as a second angle, but I’m loving the E10 so much (specifically the no recording limit) that I want a second E10 for this purpose now 😂
One of the highest quality and helpful TH-cam camera setup videos I have ever seen, love it, thank you so much!
Thank you, Vanessa. I ordered the Vlogging setup today & I'm so looking forward to not need 14 different things for a camera setup for vlogging interviews!
Here's me (who has none of this equipment, nor any plans to buy this stuff) but still watching this video all the way through just because I've missed Vanessa THAT much 😅
(BTW, this is a solid video, the video editor really deserves a raise! 🎉)
She's really great!! Thank you for watching :) nice to always see you here in the comments!!
I have a short attention span and I love how you did your storytelling + visuals. Thank you also for the very thorough explanation of each setup. 😊
Glad you're back, Vanessa. Great video
Thubnail is more important than a light.🗿
Where do I buy Thubnail from? DIY store?
I simply Love you. Im a working Photojournalist and Filmaker, you litteraly removed tons of usless stress in my brain. Simple is Unique, Simple is Elegant, Simple is Timeless and makes sense! Bravo!
you are so cute 😍
I can't tell you how many times I watched this video, I think you did a fantastic job on this and has helped me out A LOTS.
When I saw your previous TH-cam setup video years ago, I'm glad I did some research around the topic and shopped for other camera models, because I ended up buying the Sony zv-e10. And now years later, I'm glad that your main camera update validates my purchase LOL.
I love watching you over in this vlog. Very clear, well explained and very detailed. Thanks for the informations.
Hands down the best content creation beginner video I've ever seen. So much information. Nothing left to ask. Thank you.
12:42 Dude I love the way you fade your facecam into the other content. I've done this kinda effect many times as a graphic designer but not on a streaming / screen sharing / faceacam setup. It makes it look super polished and smooth!
You're so amazing, the detail that I got out of your video explained in the simplest terms made this video more valueable then any of the other "TH-cam Equipment Videos"! This was brilliant, simple, and perfect for someone to have 3 different perspectives of what they want to do and what they want to get. Great job Vanessa!
This comment means so much to me! Thank you so much! And yes! Wanted to show the range of possibilities!
Thanks for putting this video together. It was well thought out and explained in a simple way. At 18:48 into the video, I officially became a subscriber.
I just picked up the ZV-E10 today! Relieved to hear how popular it is with content creators.
VERY HAPPY I FOUND YOUR CHANNEL!!🥰

I am so happy you popped up in my feed. I have been looking for you. I'm gonna be up all night with my granny who does not sleep, so I will be watching videos all night.Let me get into this description box to see all I need to buy to start TH-cam, Finally. Also any suggestions from anyone, I'm all ears and ready to learn as I know Absolutely Nothing
Hats off. As a creator i can understand how much effort is required to make these kind of videos👌 love from india 🇮🇳
Do you think the DJ Osmo pocket 3 would make a good talking head camera?
Best video hands down I’ve seen in a long time for beginner content creators. Starting back up my content career and I’m so excited!
I love this setup!! The vibes are so aesthetic and comforting :)
Aww thank you so much Maya!! I truly appreciate your feedback on the vibes!!
I just got this camera for Christmas to start my TH-cam! This was so helpful!
I like her she’s one of the good ones! Protect her at all costs!
Simple & Easy ✅ Thanks Vanessa!
Oh thank you so much!!!!
@@VanessaLauYou’re welcome!
Massive value in this video, thank you
No cap, i love how you broke that down and i love that you geeking out on gear, subbed
Absolutely loving your new and aligned vibe!!😊
Dummy batteries are ESSENTIAL!
I've been working with cameras for years, don't worry you look fine on the camera, just kind of bring that to your intention in case you didn't know but I wouldn't get too close to it or you might start to look like a fisheye lens sortof
Now on the zve 10 if you run it in 4k 30 that will make it crop and even more but you can put it on 4K 24 frames per second and you'll get a wider field of view, and if you're using the lens stabilization on the camera it may also crop in so you're wide lens may not be as wide as it could be if you're running 4K 30 frames per second and have the stabilizer on, that'll make it crop in big time. I turn the Lin stabilization off because it's always up on a stand or a tripod and I keep it on 4K 24 frames per second and I get the widest field of view possible
Thank you very much for sharing all of your equipment with us! 🙏 it’s very kind of you to be so humble and transparent with your technical hardware, work methods, alongside explaining to us in such simple language. This video is highly appreciated! 🤜🤛
Thanks for this. Coming from a photographer to a videographer is totally different.
Super informative video Vanessa, definitely going to go with some of these recommendations. Specifically that wide angle lens! Thanks!
You are honestly the best for sharing this, I just bought the ZV e10 and there’s so much information out there, it’s been burning me out. I do cooking videos, and it’s a bit hard to find the right equipment to get the look I want. You’ve provided a lot of great information. Thank you!!
Thank you!!! I'm loving this new phase of yours - YESSSS!!!
22:59 I found out about this camera from another creator but he said the quality was not very good and he had to do a lot of color grading to correct the colors. But yes, I really did love this and I didn't realize you could do both horizontal and vertical videos with this. Your footage with it looks amazing though.
I love your room lighting! I am a beginner in TH-cam and learning a lot from you :)
Hands down the most helpful video I have ever seen. In the process of changing my setup and you literally answered every single question I had and then some. Thank you so so much ❤
I just found your video, you did an excellent job explaining all the pieces per set up, your presentation was absolutely on point and better than any other influncers i have seen, and i have seen many. Your are a gorgeous lady....
When people are saying *luxdups* is a better option,I very much agree!
You seem lighter and free after your break and time away. Way to follow what’s most aligned with you ❤
Vanessaaaa! I have been following your channel for a while now and absolutely love these setup videos. I really appreciate the transparency and breakdown of each and every setup. It is overwhelming for a solo creator like me starting out but I can build my to-do list accordingly. Thanks for sharing your knowledge as always
Thanks for sharing your camera set ups! Very insightful. Heard many good things about the DJI osmo vlog set up. Might have to jump on the bandwagon and get one!
love your room...i love keeping my room superclean from all different angles..
nice work
Vanessa so glad you’re back!
I feel so good watching this, you made this so approachable and simple ❤ thank you!
Just over a year into my TH-cam content creation journey and I’m figuring out how I can optimise the budget I allocate towards my video setup…
It’d be insightful to hear more about your perspective on part time TH-camrs and balancing investing into the set vs time taken to break even…
2 questions. 1. Why do you use a lantern over a softbox? 2. What power do you normally have your light set at?
This vid is amazing... great audio, and your lighting is SUPER ON-POINT!!
Thank you for sharing and showing us why you chose certain equipment. It was very informative and easy to understand especially for a beginner!
Immediately fell in love with your energy and really enjoyed how the way you communicate and express yourself and everything in an extremely clear, fun and interesting way!!! What a breath of fresh air!! Thank you and so glad to see the younger generation like you also willing to help others. Keep going with the good role model vibe!!😎😎 but less swearing is better 😝 ❤
One of the best content creators I've come across. Keep up your good work
Clear, comprehensive, entertaining-- I didn't expect anything less from Van!❤🎉🤙
for the sm7b Don't go cheap with the cables other wise you will hear a buzz noise when you talk
Thank you - THANK YOU!!! I am new at this. I Have been watching videos for over a year & have yet to make a video! Your video explanation is absolutely fantastic! Just what I needed!!
