My favorite part is where to describe how you work with your prepared script to film your actual video. Thank you for this wealth of information.

My favorite filming tip was one I learned from you a long time ago and you referenced it again in this video. It's the filming in chunks. You have NO idea how much time you saved me when recording. I used to record all in one sitting and it was a nightmare. I would dread recording until I learned about filming in chunks from you. The best advice ever!

Vanessa, have been a silent follower ever since you first started your channel and it’s been inspiring to see you grow. Thought you always had great tips but I find you so much more personable, relatable and authentic than ever before. You seem so much happier too!! ☺️Whenever I watch your vids now and behold your transformation, I think of a comment someone left on one of my videos the other day: “The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” (Carl Jung). Keep doing you, girl!!

Thank you for helping me realize it’s okay to give myself permission to postpone a video when I’m having an off day. I once spent 6 hours filming a video, and the final result still didn’t feel right. Sometimes, we just need a reminder to honor our own rhythm and extend grace to ourselves so we can create content that truly feels authentic. You’re incredibly inspiring, and I absolutely love watching your videos!

Oh man, it’s such a relief watching a big creator do the same thing when trying to record something. Having to start the same sentence over like ten times just to get the right inflection or just trying to remember your script. It’s awkward as all hell, especially if someone else is in the room with you 😅 cheers Vanessa!

I also edit bits in later, and - wait for it - I even have the same comfort pose with the SAME leg underneath me 😂

Also how you speak has changed. You speak more personal and inviting - versus salesy or performative. I appreciate your channel and have been following you since you have been back on socials. You have encouraged me to add TH-cam to my social platforms besides IG & Tiktok. My thing has always been if I do longform having something to say and not just doing anything - intentionality. Thank you for what you do !

Thank you so much for being honest about having a bad filming day and having to put it down and try again another day. Coming from an experienced and highly successful TH-camr such as yourself, this is so important and so validating! I’ve been feeling so down about starting my channel feeling like this doesn’t come naturally to me so maybe I just am not meant for this. Yet, I feel myself bursting at the seams with ideas and stories and messages I want to tell. Thank you for reminding me to give myself grace as I attempt to do something that isn’t natural, that does take a lot of energy, and can be quite difficult to do, especially as I am also a newer mama 😅 i appreciate you and this video, thank you 🙏🏽

Wow Vanessa…I remember following you years ago and I loved your content then but felt you weren’t authentic or transparent. I stopped following because of those 2 reasons. But OMG to see how you have blossomed and become your own person! Then you were very robotic, scripted and synthetic. You popped up on my feed as a recommended video and I am so glad I clicked on the video. Wow…a 360! I am so proud of you. I am happy to follow you again! Keep pushing forward and tearing down barriers. I must say I did tear up because I see such authenticity in you now. You look so happy now. You’re not so “scripted” or robotic now. What I love most about this is the inside-out focus. Meaning, while you're giving tips based on your personal experiences, you're maintaining the message to the viewer of finding what works best for them based on personal factors, such as comfort and personal skills/knowledge. ❤🙌🏾 It's clear you have a ton of experience on this topic with the wide range of tips provided. I'm interested in the DJI Osmo Pocket for a series that I have where it's more of a casual talking head video. I've been using my iPhone on a mobile device stand, but the problem with this setup is it's not adjustable and it has a tilt, so I have to creatively use folded pieces of paper to get the angle right. It works, but can be frustrating in terms of consistency. The only thing I would need to do with the DJI is figure out how to sync it with my XLR mic. Shouldn't be too hard for me because I love the tech side of being a digital creator. haha

Heyo (: Idk if you already thought about that, but when studying Film & Motion Design in uni, we learned to clap your hands/snap fingers right after starting recording a new take on the camera and microphone (that's what the clapperboard in movie production is for btw). That way you can look at the audio wave of the microphone audio and video audio and see where it spikes, so you can align them. I find it makes syncing audio + video from two different sources super easy! Hope that helps (:

Hi Vanessa, I really love the current you, you are a whole lot authentic now that it resonates so much to me. The way that you're showing behind the scenes where you stumble in speaking really makes me feel seen that everyone is experiencing it no matter how experienced they are in making content. Also the way you're telling us that making how to and wanting to be an expert makes you feel performative really resonates! I too feel like it's so performative once the camera is on, and really no one has been telling the same story as what I feel before you did. Thank you so much for your vulnerability, actually I have never commented on TH-cam before, but your authenticity really piques my heart to say this. I hope you know that you're growing well and I love the current you so much! Please keep posting the vulnerable side of you and be human. Thanks a lot, appreciating you so much.

I just came across your channel. Thank you for your transparency, and for sharing the honest reality of what happens behind the scenes. Overthinking things and seeking perfection is a dream killer. Your tips were practical and very helpful especially for new and unexperienced creators (like me) who just need the push to get started. Well done!

Thank you for this video! It felt so homey and actionable. Almost like a mini class or workshop.
Your break away from TH-cam seems so essential to how you approach it now. I’ve been subscribed to you for years got lost in the middle during your coaching era where I didn’t click as much but I am happy to return to any video you post just based on how connected you seem to yourself right now.
Also, your note to women on energy was top tier! I’m a mom of littles and wow trying to make a video is exhausting but your tips today feel so doable.

love the focus on how to be authentic on camera and what really matters. Love the behind the scenes what its like to film multiple clips to make it appear smooth. Also so happy ro included the women's cycle!

This is perfect timing! Making the switch to long-form content and had a ton of trouble feeling comfortable getting my point across on camera. This video literally answered all the questions I had about scripting/talking on camera!

Wow this is SO GOOD! Especially going into women's cycles 🤯 cannot believe I didn't consider this and filming is more strain than weights 🤯🤯
    Thank you for sharing!!

This is so real and I truly appreciate the honesty in this particular video. I relate so much to a lot of the things you've mentioned like the stuttering and the low energy the week before my period (which I didn't realize was a thing and now will plan around my cycle!) I was feeling down thinking I wasn't made to do this, but knowing you too have similar struggles as me, I'm motivated to keep trying! Thank you so much for this series, it's really helpful in so many ways =)! Keep em coming!

Wow that's crazy. I've been thinking about how I should just empty my schedule a week before my period. I thought it could be a bit ridiculous I'm so glad someone else has been already implementing it!

I appreciate you, too, Vanessa. I started my journey lately, and I just want to be me with no filters. Emotional independence (no fear of judgment) is the key to sharing my journey with the world. I can tell when I am being authentic as the emotional state feels so grounded and I enjoy the time talking about the stories. I'm looking forward to the video editing episode.

This was very helpful. You are very organized. I am more of the grammar camera and repaired, kind of person, but that always leaves a lot to change. Not to mention, I understand burnout. Thank you for sharing this.

i think i missed the "delete the messed up clip" part of your tip about filming in sections the first time you gave it, but i caught it this time and i see the extreme time saving value in editing, totally gonna do this!

I like you display your sitting position and why. When you said I don’t no what iso means I laughed 😂 iso helps increase the brightness or low light that the video receives.
