    Hi Lindsay,
I was finally able to catch up with this one, and I really enjoyed it!! This tutorial is only the second one I've seen that shows a carnation; your red-tipped carnation is the first I've ever seen. When the video first started I thought "oooo can't wait to see how that is done!" because of the side view and how they look among the other flowers in this painting. Carnations made up part or whole of so many arrangements, it's great to see them here.
I loved your paint thickness recommendation- rather than whole milk, it's like 2%. That is PERFECT advice for someone like me. I've never had a watercolor class, and the small art teacher experience I had in school was not a positive one. It actually affected the art I made at home and I stopped drawing and coloring for a long time. I wish I hadn't listened. But I appreciate that instead of using industry terms, you use something most people can relate to and understand, the difference between whole and 2% milk.
Really enjoyed this lesson and all the nuggets of wisdom-including that I must practice, practice. Thanks Lindsay!

I like them both! I like the way you layered the petals on the poppy. Of course, you make it look so easy. I need to practice, practice, practice!! I never thought about the brown bag and clear water....Thank you!!

I signed up for your flower class before you added the section with the wedge/triangle brush. I also bought the brushes you are using. But I have yet to work through the class. This has inspired me to get painting! Your suggestion to use water on a brown paper bag is pure genius. I like both of the paintings, but maybe leaning a bit toward the one you did live. I liked the addition of the stems. I love all your videos-painting, crafting, card making, and just plain talking (vlogs). Thank you for sharing your talent with us. Have a great holiday weekend!

This is so pretty. I'd have never used yellow and gray for the carnations but I would have been wrong. The carnations I'm stealing from you! When you did live shows and people asked the tiniest questions, I'd think, get a brush or two, dip in paint and stroke it around. See what you can make it do for you. Anywho, thanks for being Lindsay! 🦋🌷🌞💗

I love both :) I specially like the aqua colours on the practice one. The poppies look so crepey.. (I don't have any idea how to spell that.. don't read it as crappy!) they are so delicate but at the same time bold. I love the vintage feel with the off white carnations

I never understand why people put a thumbs down? If you don’t like it keep moving on to the next video and don’t watch it. No one is forcing you to watch the whole
Thing. Once you find out it is not for you, move on.
You are not paying anything to these people on you tube using their valuable time, energy and money to make these videos for you. The least you can do is not put a thumb down because it did not interest you.
Is this part of our society where everyone thinks the world revolves around them and everything must be fine tuned to keep their interest? Not everything will be for you. The world does not revolve around you. If it doesn’t fit you, move on!
Oh sorry Lindsey for my rant. It so bugs me when I see a video I know someone has worked hard on and people just put a thumbs down. No one is forcing them
To watch, why do they have to put it down.

This was so relaxing to watch. It reminded me of the folk art techniques I learned years ago and the two carnations had a real vintage feel to them. I bought a set of wedge brushes last year and signed up for your loose floral course. Then my life went haywire so I haven't gotten back to it. This has inspired me to pick up where I left off with both!

Hello Lindsay, I'm a bit late but I loved your ATC rounds, I thought they were great. I just received a brochure I requested, a travel brochure from Maine. I just wanted to have a look at all the pictures, not likely I'll ever be able to make that trip. I hope you'll have a chance to do a short video of your trip to the stamp show and I will be looking forward to hearing about your trip when you get home. Take care and God bless.

I have bee so nomadic in the last few years, 40 hour art projects fell to the side. Lack of practice wears on my confidence. An art journal has been so fun though! I enjoy ripping up colorful watercolor experiment pages. Perhaps the life crises have opened a new direction and creative experience for me. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! This is a beautiful painting tutorial. Thanks for doing it.
I have an idea for a crafting video: I recently bought a bunch of used stamps and some of them are ink stained. I have no idea what kind of inks the previous owner used. It seems to me I recall you saying in a video that rubber stamps can be soaked in glycerin overnight and that will remove some of the ink (as well as condition them), but I checked and it was not a tip you presented in your video on uses for glycerin. ("Huh! What is it good for? Absolutely everything in the craftroom!" Still cracks me up.) Anyway, how about a video on how to clean up our stamps, no matter what kind of ink and whether we stained them accidentally by leaving them uncleaned overnight or acquired them stained or, as may have happened to one of my new stamps, they got splattered and it wasn't noticed till it dried. (The splattered one seems to have some metallic or pearlized/nacreous ink on it. Any special tips for removal of that kind of ink?)
Thanks for all you do, Lindsay. I've been enjoying your work for years,
    Melissa Brown

I finally listened to your advice and bought a super-inexpensive, large sketchbook and am almost daily painting or sketching in it. I am slowly becoming fearless (LOL) and will try all sorts of new stuff and building my skills. It really does help you to improve and like you've said so many times before, no one has to see it. I'm wondering if perhaps you might do a few tutorials on buildings/structures (I really stink at those). You did one on a castle-like structure along a river with tulips (unless I'm losing my marbles....LOL!) and it was very informative.
