I would choose the Dogo as my favorite between the two breeds. The Dogo is very loyal and especially good with children. Remember the story of Machorro the Dogo that saved the children from the mountain lion attack.
I like the Dogo better out of the two. Less likely to bite someone.
I have a 6 year old Dogo with the last of Machorro line before he died. She is great. I find all the senses in her are heightened. No training required for guarding and protecting. Just bred into them. She won’t tolerate a cat. Again a trait bred into Dogo’s.

Great dogs. My friend has the white walker and I have the small tiger. The Dogo is 3/4 the dog the Presa is size wise. The two biggest differences I have seen is the Dogo is a runner, that dog will go and go. My Presa is able to go all out but is also chill. The other difference is the Presa guards my wife and daughter like it was born to, no training necessary.

But the original answer was to be that I noticed the same about my presa….my presa guards my daughter from everyone. Even other family members
Love my Presa! He is the best all-around dog I have ever had. Only thing I would change is the Presa's life span, I would make it five times longer!
My Presa was one of the best digs ive owned. Its all in who owns them. He was great with kids as well as our tiny Min Pins. Excellent guard dog though for sure. No training needed for that.

I’ve owned both, I’m a current presa owner and the only reason I think is negative about my presa and kids is that they want to lean on people they love. 140lb dog leaning a 40lb kid isn’t a good thing for the kid

@@DopeBoysofAtlanta my dogo had some real separation issues….he didn’t like being away from us. He had to be in the same room with me. He went full the shining mode one night because we didn’t want him in our bedroom. Just so that he could sleep with us….that was his last night as my dog….

I have 4 dogs so I love your videos, would be interested to see your take on some of the breeds I have since a few of them are unusual. I have a husky/pharaoh hound mix, an akita/besenji mix, a rodesian ridgeback mix and a pitbull/boxer mix which is not uncommon but the other 3 are interesting mixes.

I disagree with the weather issue. Another website sponsored by a Dogo Argentino breeder says the dogos love water and snow. So while they can't tolerate long periods of cold, the dogo is at least equal in cold-tolerance to the canario

In Argentina temperatures are usually 45/46ºc to -15ºc or less, and this dog was created with our environment in mind, perhaps the creator of the video does not know this information.

They absolutely DO LOVE Snow and water, I'm here in Maine and I can't keep my female out of either,😂😂 man I'm serious you would think the snow would bother them after a while, DOESN'T PHASE HER A BIT! I'll be ready to come in after a couple hours she won't even have a shake from it and still throw a fit because we gotta leave ,it's crazy I haven't seen this dog shiver once in 25 degrees weather waist deep in snow and still plunder through it and hunt or play and looks at me as if to say what?😀we good.

I have a Dogo Argentino and yes they are lap dogs and YES they want to be with people ALL the time but a Dogo is a killer and does what WAY bigger dogs do with half the size and same Bite PSI, so for me it’s a Dogo because you get more bang for the buck……

I have both. Amazing breeds.
Neighbour has quite a few presa and those dogs vary wildly in their personality and size. Id say that its 50/50 if they are good with other animals (including dogs of all sizes). Almost all of them are VERY vary of strangers (new humans) and first impression they get of a individual tends to stick like glue. Ive seen them "test" new people they dont know with growling or moving up REAL close to intimidate. If the person dont react poorly (aggression or fear) then they tend to be accepted as a safe human and then pretty much ignored. Most, but not all, accept children as annoying but harmless. All family members are protected from any and all threats without fail. Any new guests tend to get at least a minimal growl (much like dog says: welcome, but behave yourself... or else!). As for size ive seen the smallest like a small labrador and the largest mobile.pipe.aria.micery nearly like a lion. They tend to be very slime around the tummy and have excess muscle build (wish we humans had those genes, eh?). If you are with any of theese dogs (for any reason) you need to be nice but firm with them. Treat them well, but be very clear when they do good and bad and let them know. This breed can be extremely powerful and with that comes the responsibility to train the dog equally and being prepared for when/if something unplanned happens.

My father used to breed Presa's back in the day. Most of the males I've encountered are 145 plus. Biggest i think i ever saw was in the 160 range.
Irema Curto is something what you want to look up if you want to see how real Presa looks,most today are bandogs.
Much bigger than the Dogo Argentino. The Dogo seems to be the smaller among the mastiff breeds, at 80-100lb. The other side to that trait is being the more agile of the mastiff breeds though

I've owned both breeds and breed Presa Canarios, also known as Dogo Canarios, in the there native land. The Presa Canario can be stubborn and difficult to train and is not always trusting around kids, for a family dog I would choose Dogo Argentino easier to train and better around kids as a family dog, however with both beeds there needs to be a more experienced dog owner not ideal for first time dog owner or anyone with a push over attitude a firm hand and stern attitude do well with these breeds.
Isn’t it strikingly weird how everything bad they say bad about both breeds, the Pitbull gets it as well? I’ve had nothing but pits and I never had problems, I finally got two Presa Canario and all we have to remember is, it is how the owner bring them up!! It’s never the dog, it’s the owners…

When I lived in Tenerife I have witnessed a Farm presa Canario drag a donkey over 200m two it puppies and mate and just because it's a Spanish dog doesn't mean it's from Spain they are from the Canary Islands that are owned by Spain nearly 1000 miles away
My dad had a dogo MF was a beast taking out big ass snakes on the farm taking out boars and shit but that MF was vicious towards strangers for real couldn’t damn near control his aggressive ass

I've seen presa canario's 180 lbs
There are 5 mastive breeds from different parts of Spain. Dogo means certain type of dog with ( at least part mastive) blood. Dogo espanol are the slightly taller alano espanol( same otherwise. Another breed mastine espanol is huge but come in lightweight and heavy weight in Spain.

My Presas obey instsntly, without delay they have even dropped prey (squirrels, rabbits, birds) without injury to their victim, when I have commanded.
I'm not always with them however, so they have, on their own volition, supllemented their menu!
I have found them ALMOST as easy to train as the Doberman Pinschers I have had...
Extremely powerful dogs, I will agree, even when properly socialized, they play so hard, other dogs fear they may have met their doom. At 7 months, my male managed to terrify a fully grown GSD, and a Rhodesian Ridgeback, who only wanted to play.
'Celt' only wanted to play too, but first, had to establish who was going to win the game, regardless!

Il Canario si può dire che è ancora un Bandog più che una razza perché continuamente in fase di modifiche con vari molossi diversi per ogni soggetto con due tipologie di standard una di recente immissione identificata come Dogo Canario, più basso e tarchiato con testa grande quanto il mastiff e schiena sellata, praticamente un cane da posa più che da lavoro,anche se istintivamente fa cmq un ottima guardia e difesa, ma a mio giudizio anche brutto. Sono pochi gli allevatori che non hanno immesso questo nuovo standard nei loro soggetti e portati avanti il vecchio Presa... Il Dogo è un cane polivalente, perfetto per ogni compito, resistente e atletico,ha una storia di selezione alle spalle molto più seria e affascinante. Per me il Dogo è superiore in tutto!!!

Im 55 and ive had so many different types of breeds over my lifetime, from yorkies to american bulldogs or pitbulls or french mastiffs cross rotties etc, we've had a lot and my latest dog is a Presa Canario, he is 17months old and he's about 70kg already and omg what an awesome breed, i would say they are an EXTREME breed, by that i mean they are extremely protective, extremely aggresive, extremely playfull and extremely loving and affectionate! Everything about them is extreme! Best breed ever in my biased opinion!!!

i may have over exaggerated the weight a bit tbh, hes 21 months old now and without weighing him id guess hes around 65kg max, he is 100% working line as where i got him from were all used for guard work and hunting, he a has a high high prey drive and a need to be busy constantly, my neighbour has a show line presa and thats very calm, mines like a bull in a china shop! He is lean, agile and on point! The show line would of been a better fit as all my boy is is my sidekick and bestie, where i go he goes, just purchased and old motorhome so we will be touring soon, he’ll love that. ✌🏻💙🏴

@kangal like any dog , my presa is very gentle with the kids at the park . But will turn protective if random adults come around when he is with the kids . The whole neighborhood knows him and some even take him for walks . I am talking about real small kids . They are honestly one amazing breed

I heard the problems start when you introduce strange kids into the house and those kids start to play fight. The Presa might not recognize this as harmful and go into protection mode, harming the kid.

I have a 5 year old male Dogo Argentino, a sweet, loving clown towards me and my family, a ferocious killer towards strangers and other dogs, they're very stubborn and should be raised with a silk glove, lots of patience and without any fysical punishment, if you ever use fysical punishment on your Dogo it will turn on you for sure and attack you. But a very good dog when proper raised and an amazing hunting dog mine can chase a wild boar for more than 45 min and than still grab it by the throat, pin it down and kill it. I love my boy with all of my heart ❤

@@71ele17 I’m not even going to kid you, the Dogo Argentino has more energy than any dog that you may have been around 😂…They’re great with people and kids, it’s just that they really don’t want to sit still. They must be worked out, and that’s about 3 hours a day of exercising and training (EVERYDAY). They can’t be left in a backyard to run, that’s not enough 😂.. they are ALWAYS alert, ready to make sure you’re safe..the energy is of at least 3 of those dogs in one, any of those breeds that you listed. The Dogo is a hunting dog, ALWAYS ready to hunt from the moment they step outside. The Dogo must eat premium, I feed mines raw food only and have no allergies eating “beef”. It should be on HEARTWORM meds for life, with shots up to date. Use horse shampoo, or shampoo that’s very high quality. I spend around $300 a month. With a Dogo comes high prices, I waited 17 years to be able to have the time for them. It’s alot of work daily my friend, you must love dogs on another level.

I always wanted a Argentino for hunting but just happened to get a presa and she is incredible! She learns on a dime and tracks like a blood hound. She learns so fast that I have to switch things up often so she doesn’t get board and loves every kid she sees but is wary of strange adults.

My point is this is sold to all of you as factual but in reality it is not at all. It's just another biased person looking to edit in a way that favors his own opinion. A quick search on youtube will quickly show (not claim) how superior a Dogo Argentino is from the design up to end results. Go look for yourself folks. There are thousands of Dogos performing every function at the highest level in the dog kingdom., and for Presa most videos are about how the species has almost went extinct twice because of serious inbreeding due to the types of individuals attracted to the dogs (Same fate as the poor Pitbull in the 90's-2000's), and high hood CGI videos where still images are used in some "Worlds baddest dog contest". All of this is the story of the failed Canary Presa Canario. It is terrible at work, terrible with families as an average bite/ownership index (I think historically it ranks 3rd worst and 1st in large breeds), terrible with intelligence as there are only claims of people saying smart rather than actual videos that support it (or anything constructive or useful for that matter) , and on paper one of the most violent unhinged dogs in history. Facts. Again, go look for yourselves and stop trusting hot garbage like this.

I currently have a Dogo. I've had both. The dogo is very territories and easier to train, hands down. Both are very good guard dogs and will destroy other animals without fear. Still, I go with the Dogo on personality, bite force (500psi), and aggressiveness. I give the Dogo about a 1 point edge.
Nah Presa's are very kid friendly and love begin around there family, but cousin's aunt's uncle's and even some friends there not so loving the presa will tolerate them around
I've got a a presa boy 2 years old absolute tank good with people and other dogs his prey drive is crazy and he's super powerful a very serious dog but I love him to bits me and my house are safe when he's around

Video is wrong about Presa with kids. My Presa is sweet and amazing around all little kids. He loves my grandbabies and will let them lay on him, give them toys out of his mouth, etc. He adores them as much as they adore him!
