At this point, all K-pop fans have to agree on 1 thing. Soyeon has an incredible mind. Her concepts, views on execution, production are all top tier. Cube really found one of the most creative idols out there to drag them out of bankruptcy. Also, glad to see that Cube is finally opening their wallet for these comebacks.
She might have some downs but her talent makes up for it. We don't have artists like her nowadays, especially in female idol groups. Some notes and behind the scenes: Soyeon said they spent more than 800.000 dollars in the comeback Miyeon is dressed as Cleopatra Minnie as Medusa Soyeon as Athena Yuqi as Cruela Shuhua as Queen of Cards (because she has 2 poker symbols under her eyes) All are powerful and missunderstood women There are references to other MV's: The cake from Queencard and Tomboy The stairs set from Oh My God The shield from Lion The scorpion from Hann All female centric songs And lastly, some shoutouts to other girl groups in the lyrics "Baddie" - IVE "Fearless" - le sserafim "Savage" - aespa It is an anthem and Soyeon wants all of them on board.
@@jes_1604 yes but if you read the official lyrics, all 3 of them are written with capital letters: Baddie, Fearless, Savage. And they are in the middle of the sentence, so they shouldnt be with capital letters.
The YG comment…you and me are eye to eye because the reason I’m not crazy about the song is because it’s kinda of Teddy coded and it’s not for me right now but the difference is Soyeon and her relationship and respect for her members. You can feel it their presence and I always say they remind me of 2nd gen groups in that way. They are just a group that has cemented a their place in the industry.
EXACTLY I followed them since their debut I heard LATATA as mistakes back in 2018 and I fell immediately in love whit them I start doing research and the way I gagged when I discovered they where only a 4th generation group e LATATA was only their debut btw till this day for me LATATA is my favorite debut song by a 4th generation group and I think they was so ahead of time and unique for that time
I slept on Idle a long time but have become a pretty major fan of them despite honestly not being a huge fan of most of their music. I do think however that their place in the industry and how they operate is one of the most interesting and important things right now and I'll show up for whatever they do. Soyeon is one of the few people to me where the notion of a group having a leader actually feels like more than a Wikipedia footnote, and I'm so fucking on board with how she's actually using whatever power she's been able to get for herself, musically and otherwise. They've obviously done much more, but if nothing else she'll have all my respect for how open she is in her support for stuff like same-sex relations in a culture where that isn't just a given.
I just knew you’d like this release!!!! When I tell you, I was just as gagged as you were when you messed up the mic for a second😂 like I was screaming when I saw this MV and laughing just like you and my jaw dropped to the floor, I was shocked because of GREAT they looked. The characters I mean!!!!!! I just wish we had a bridge but you know the vocal parts were good enough for me so it’s okay. Super Lady is so fun and I get the thing about the choreo, this song is charisma!!! Everyone is complaining because Wife’s lyrics are non-sensical but I don’t care I am vibing.
THE WAY I AGREE WHIT EVERY SINGLE WORD YOU SAID ABUT SUPER LADY (musically is not my favorite comebacks it’s growing on me) THE EAT & DEVOUR EVERY SINGLE TIME WHIT CONCEPT ATTITUDE SET EVERYTHING especially when you said that even if they don’t doing too much whit the choreo they always serving
this is how you do a yg party chorus!! i agree, it is a full experience, everythings works together. mv and choreo enchance the song. honestly i love this song, it is my type of music, but the performance, mv and even the styling made it even better for me. i dont really rewatch mvs, but i feel like im gonna love rewatching this one.
The styling in Wife is fantastic when you consider the light green outfits are representative of what Korean female prisoners wear in jail. Love the social commentary from them especially in light of how so many women there are shunning marriage/kids/traditional gender expectations and how fragile masculinity is on the rise there. Gidle is always giving a MESSAGE as well as fabulous visuals and music. Love them.
What you talk about everyone has their role, you are soooo right!!! Soyeon: the indisputable center who brings the overall charisma to the group and that everyone respects Yuqi: when the choreo is suposed to hit hard, she plays center as the best dancer (after nxde she has improved A LOT). She has a way to dance very strong and sassy. Shuhua: she is the main visual of the group and actually a very good actress (she has a career if she ever wants to drop being an idol), she is the best at displaying the emotions and themes of the song: revenge in tomboy, sultry sexy in nxde, sassy queen in queencard and now powerful leader in super lady. Her face cams are the most watched lately. That's why in this MV she plays center in the first half of the outro during the dance break. Minnie: she kills you with her gaze and soft vocals, and lately with her raps too!! she is in charge of fantasy and mystery of the group. Which is....undeniable. Miyeon: the power vocal and 2nd visual, she brings the femeninity and elegance needed to the group in contrast of soyeon's charisma and yuqi's strengh. Sorry about my grammar, english isnt my 1st language :(
I really enjoyed Super Lady and M/V and song! They killed it serving fierceness, cvnt, body, and looks! Parts of the song melody reminded me of Pirate-Everglow and T-ara Sugar-Free. We all knew going in it was going to be heavily 2NE1 inspired visually and they delivered and did not disappoint! Love a good female empowerment anthem which had me gagged! My fav look was the Cruella De-vil outfit and the ending crystal diamond body suit! It reminded me of Beyoncé in The Beyoncé Experience tour costume which is a huge compliment. I'm not a big G-Idle fan but I am definitely adding this to my playlist with the only other song I have on it by them which is Dumb-di-dum. I think I read they spent just under a million for the M/V.
Gidle has never been known to have great choreos. They are known to have simple, memorable ones. Perfect choreos for live stages. And this is another one. I'm pretty sure that that power walk in the beginning of the chorus will be viral.
I think I'm drawn to groups like Ateez & G-Idle bc they're determined to produce tracks & albums that are representative of their own unique colors & pov - despite criticism or SK social pressure. (Wife prob has no subtitles so the company doesn't get fined. But they put out the song & vid anyways.) Maybe it's bc they're at smaller companies? 🤷🏻♀️ But even other smaller companies play it safe. Superlady is 2nd gen feels, yes - yg elements - but still very THEM. They deserve their flowers.
Completely agree that the atmosphere and world/story they build and pull u in for each song/music video always gets me hooked. But especially when they sing the line with the word bow and how they like idk what it’s called like waver their voice and keep it going just can’t stop listening on repeat
I really like your opinion on things, positive or negative. I respect it even if it’s different from mine. But most times you put my thoughts into words for me🤣 you’re one of the few that actually give their genuine thoughts and reactions, so thank you🫶🏼 l also love hearing it from a musical perspective, it’s so interesting when you point out things in the songs I wouldn’t notice otherwise.
I love this comeback from them. I hope it does well so that it can influence some other groups to start going BIG for their comebacks (emphasis on SOME. K-pop is sorely lacking in concept diversity at the moment). Comebacks for more established acts have felt so understated as of late. Regarding Revenge, maybe the Gaga song is John Wayne?
one thing that everybody can agree upon is that this will be the MV of the year for sure. Even people who disliked the song have said that the MV was amazing and one of the best. If this doesn't get them the award for best MV then I don't know what will.
It’s so funny that you said yg should take notes because yg already did a music video like this for 2ne1 I like this video better though could just be the time difference styles changing and all but yeah the second o saw this teaser I was like that looks like I am the best I was excited and they didn’t disappoint
Ok so, i love, Love the mv. The idea is genius, the execution spectacular. It's iconic. But I don't like the song. It's too short, the chorus does give me what i wanted to. I just kinda miss their older sound like lion, omg, hwaa and hann. That was more my kind of stuff. I like the empowering direction they have taken conceptually but song-wise gidle hasn't really been for me but i do respect them a lot as a group. Especially soyeon who is kinda the mastermind behind their concepts.
I love (G)-IDLE not even because of the music (although I love it too) but because this group has PERSONALITY and strong concept, I look at them and think "well finally something alive in kpop these days". Someone may not like something, but I'm always curious to see what they've come up with this time around
I agree so much on the choreo statement as much as I like complex I tend to like more simple choreographies that work with the song because at the end of they are singers so singing/performance should come first
Even without the super lady, I always have a thought that gidle reminds me of 2NE1 and I was not wrong. They have the energy and the hype of that wonderful group. They have the stage presence and they're charismatic. Also, Sandara Park said that gidle is like the 2NE1 of their generation and that statement is so true. Now, with the release of super lady, I see it more and clearer. Soyeon knows what her group is capable of and she knows that they can and has the ability to get on top.
I knew you were gonna like Super Lady, it is your style and taste, because most of your reactions you do tend to like this kind of production. I am not saying this in an offensive way, its an observation, and its fine, because I have similar taste. Also discussion, are we heading into recession pop? (think 2008 - 2014 era)
@@Koko3op Ive been seeing a trend towards that with the IVE - All night cover, This second gen throwback, I think we usually revisit trends every 20 years, 20 yrs ago was 2003 😭
Thank you for your honest reaction! I'm still a fairly new (G)I-DLE fan and I'm still working my way through their pre-Queencard stuff, but I'm loving this comeback so much! Like you point out, it's not about the song per se, it's how they present themselves and the way they own the stage and give room for all of them to bring something unique and interesting. I've always had an appreciation for any type of media - music, games, artists, etc - who know who they are and what they're creating, and (G)I-DLE is definitely such a group. I feel like Soyeon has really been able to develop their sound in a way that enhances all their strengths. I keep humming 'Super Lady' for myself all the time, so while the song might not be quite as memorable as 'Queencard', it's certainly stuck in my mind! 😊
I finally realized what "Revenge" sounds like, the drop sounds very much like the drop (bass) of Demi Lovato's "Cool for the Summer". Outside of that, I liked Wife, felt neutral about Doll, was eh about Super Lady but loved the budget and expression and charisma. Overall, felt pretty good about it all but I'm not like blown away blown away except for the MV.
agree with all you said. the music video SOLD the song but at the same time I just wished they fleshed out the song more. everytime I started to like a part, a new one would come in. I think the song would benefit from a stunning bridge and a longer 2nd chorus.
OKAY PERIODDDD G IDLE ATEE ZOWWNNN WITH THIS COMEBACK BABYYY. THE ONES WHO GIT IT GIT IT. ITS BEEN A LUNG, KIDNEY, AND LIVER TIME COMING SINCE I'VE BEEN MANHANDLED BY A COMEBACK BAYBEEEEE The best thing to happen to soyeon was mnet playing her on produce 101 and not giving her shine
I think for on stage super lady would of suited like the mouth mics not hand held to be able to add more to the dance given they don’t have the mv visuals to the same extent. I’m imagining if they did like the Lizzie McGuire pop moment with the dark marching band outfits from mv as they were fire instead of the white fits
Super lady definitely surprised me, but it wasn’t as climactic as I wanted it to be. The girls killed the choreo, killed the looks, killed the attitude. I agree where I definitely appreciate the art and the vision, but the teddy chat drop at the end? No. Still no miyeon vocals or ad-libs? No. But they crushed it regardless.
I get what you mean about the monotones. They probably run it like that so that they can sing it live easily. Cause they like to sing with their mics on.
I love how everyone says her name like I’m supposed to know her HAHA. I googled her though cos so many people mentioned her name. I haven’t watched SWF yet
Before anyone goes off....I am not making a musical comparison! But These girls are poised to replace Black Pink if they play their cards right. This video is not the same, but can be compared to the impact K*ll This Love had. Time will tell. This can be the girls KTL coming out moment.
i like gidle of today, if the fans keep talking of the past it reminds me of beyoncé fans that hate renaissance and cowboy carter and only love her old albums, like move on or just be a casual listener. artists have to grow and this new budget and sound is everything (same to beyoncé) not to mention the old songs are still there…
This comeback is like what YG tries to do but Gidle did it more powerful? The song itself isn't even that good but with Gidle it's that everything else makes up for it the concepts, the mvs, the performances. You may like Soyeon or not but u gotta give her her tens for her vision
I think this is my first time coming across your channel, and the moment you shaded YG and talked about 2NE1, I knew we were on the same page. 2NE1 was the first K-POP group I stanned, and (G)I-DLE are the true successors, there shouldn't be a debate about it. YG tried to make a prettier version of them with BLACKPINK and BABYMONSTER but BP has proven over the years that whilst havving some talent they aren't on 2NE1's level and BABYMONSTER is indeed trying too hard as when I look at Chiquita's facial expressions she honestly looks constipated rather then confident. The likelihood YG was amongst the 20+ auditions that rejected Soyeon as BIGBANG are who inspired her, only further makes me shake my head at YG. They had a chance to actually have a proper successor to 2NE1 but they blew it because Soyeon, like 2NE1, is too 'ugly' for the industry... Miyeon definitely dodged a bullet by leaving the BLACKPINK line-up. (G)I-DLE is the group YG would have liked to create but they utterly failed by prioritizing looks. I especially feel for BABYMONSTER as whilst 'Stuck In The Middle' wasn't my cup of tea, it did showcase they would be better off as an R&B group rather then trying to stick to the 2NE1 formula and I was hopeful YG finally let the formula go until they dropped 'Sheesh'. I'm tired of the recycled formula with girls who don't have the 2NE1 essence.
Welcome!! Yes I've had MANY thoughts about baby-monster loool you will see in my reactions I'm sure. The comment sections are SUPER fun too lol but yes they really are their successors and YG just doesn't bother because lazy yg Stans will lap up the same tired trumpet instrumentals as if that's all YG ever was.
The outfits? The make-up? The production on the music video? And to think that cube SUCKS as a company. I've GOT to give G-idle and Soyeon their flowers because they deserve all the success they got in the lastest comebacks.
Soyeon mentioned that she wrote Super Lady purely as an intro to concerts because they don't really have an impactful song for the intro! So this song is 100% meant to be performance heavy!
I honestly didn't like the song...well at least for a main track for me is so underwhelming, the mv looks expensive af but the thing is for me it's important that it sounds expensive too...and for me it's way too simple sorry not sorry. By the way Gidle is one of the ebst gg out there rn so they will be alright, but it's just for me they can do way better than this (in terms of music)
PS, they unfortunately do not own CUBE's entire budget, the girls actually paid for half the MV themselves as CUBE refused to pay for things like the arena and the many dancers. CUBE sucks and the girls are dedicated as fuck.

GIDLE grips me in more than any other group. Even if I am not a big fan of a song, it always ends up growing on me. They are just amazing!!!
IM OBSESSED! The slayed so so hard! YG will have to work hard asf this year
I swear, the live performance super lady is like Soyeon tryna show us how its gonna be done at MAMA Awards 2024 🤗
The mv for super lady is amazing and the girls look stunning. As for the song...great gowns, beautiful gowns 🥴
agree with all you said. the music video SOLD the song but at the same time I just wished they fleshed out the song more. everytime I started to like a part, a new one would come in. I think the song would benefit from a stunning bridge and a longer 2nd chorus.
OKAY PERIODDDD G IDLE ATEE ZOWWNNN WITH THIS COMEBACK BABYYY. THE ONES WHO GIT IT GIT IT. ITS BEEN A LUNG, KIDNEY, AND LIVER TIME COMING SINCE I'VE BEEN MANHANDLED BY A COMEBACK BAYBEEEEE
The best thing to happen to soyeon was mnet playing her on produce 101 and not giving her shine
SOOOO GOOD!!
You can choose the other captions! Not the close ones. The ones in setting:) they are not automatically generated
Super lady kinda reminded me of Burlesque, I GAGGED WHEN I WATCHED IT BC I LOVE BURLESQUE AND GIDLE SM
It always a journey with g-idle and never a bad one 🥰
I love how soyeon at first says "i am a god, super lady" and she playing as athena which is a greek mythological god or smth.
Checkout idle's newest mv for their b-side 'Revenge'!! It's the craziest thing ever done in KPop (atleast for me haha!)
upppp
Died from Gaggification, you and me both!!!
Revenge kind of reminded me of ootd from dreamcatcher
(G)I-DLE does a YG closing breakdown better than YG. 😂
I still don't know how i feel about the song but soyeon was sangin' in the begining, and it reminds me of a hyuna song.🤔
Kristen Dodgen's choreography slays on super lady
Kirsten did that choreo
I love how everyone says her name like I’m supposed to know her HAHA. I googled her though cos so many people mentioned her name. I haven’t watched SWF yet
Before anyone goes off....I am not making a musical comparison! But These girls are poised to replace Black Pink if they play their cards right. This video is not the same, but can be compared to the impact K*ll This Love had. Time will tell. This can be the girls KTL coming out moment.
Predicted this since their debut lol Soyeon strategy is not putting all out but they have something to put out each time. Next cb is the most crucial
More falsetto for doll would of made that song! You have a great ear! Love hearing your thoughts on the music 😊
Thank you!!
I'm miss the "tomboy" era, watching this make me remember YG old song, video and concept. 😂
i like gidle of today, if the fans keep talking of the past it reminds me of beyoncé fans that hate renaissance and cowboy carter and only love her old albums, like move on or just be a casual listener. artists have to grow and this new budget and sound is everything (same to beyoncé) not to mention the old songs are still there…
You were left from probably the best b-side of the album, Vision. Pretty chill song
Mmm i love you bro n i really enjoyed your reaction when you saw the Super Lady MV, you make me laugh ❤
Gidle’s revenge reminds me of Cool for the summer by Demi Lovato
Like I just know every member of (G)I-DLE loves making men cry.
This comeback is like what YG tries to do but Gidle did it more powerful? The song itself isn't even that good but with Gidle it's that everything else makes up for it the concepts, the mvs, the performances. You may like Soyeon or not but u gotta give her her tens for her vision
(GAG)I-DLE is all that can be said
Cruela de Vil is Yuki
the gaga song you were looking for was marry the night
Hmmmm yess that one too tbh it’s a very GAGA sound
Mostly africans or black people enjoy and review the best!
(am not criticising or disrespecting. recommend a better word if you have one)
No the words you used are fine lol.
Soyeon mentioned that she wrote Super Lady purely as an intro to concerts because they don't really have an impactful song for the intro! So this song is 100% meant to be performance heavy!
I LOVE YOUR REACTION
(G)I-DLE Super Lady Supremacy 🛐
Great 😁👍
9:23 Simple, but selling it😂❤
I honestly didn't like the song...well at least for a main track for me is so underwhelming, the mv looks expensive af but the thing is for me it's important that it sounds expensive too...and for me it's way too simple sorry not sorry. By the way Gidle is one of the ebst gg out there rn so they will be alright, but it's just for me they can do way better than this (in terms of music)
I totally hear this!
The vid defs ups the song a lot tho it’s such a good hype, positive sing along song even wife have them in my car playlist
super lady is perfect
Please react baby monster "stuck in the middle"🙏
I only wish we got to see more shuhua
Starykids is cool
Why don’t you react on “I Do” MV? I think that’s one of their best songs IMO.
INSANE !!! 🤯🤯🤯
I’ve been screaming all day
It reminds me of 2ne1
Any reason why you stopped checking out Itzy ?
Their music has gone downhill but I reacted to all their recent videos on Patreon.
PS, they unfortunately do not own CUBE's entire budget, the girls actually paid for half the MV themselves as CUBE refused to pay for things like the arena and the many dancers. CUBE sucks and the girls are dedicated as fuck.
i havent been gagged by a kpop song in a hot minute... gidle consider urselves sued.
It's okay but nothing special, i hope next this girl can make a better one...
30-1-24 9:34
don’t say God’s name in vain
I’m still gagged hours later 😭🤌🏾
