I have been binge watching the Blackstone Fortress series over the last several days, and I need to express my gratitude to you and Penny for making fun and helpful painting videos that are helping me get back into a hobby I put down years ago.
I must say, having two people narrate the video sounds so much interesting than one person just drone on and on. Well done. It doesn’t hurt that you two sound like you are enjoying each other’s company as you do this.

Yes, I have been really wanting to paint my figures since then, but I am a perfectionist and I want my figures to look awesome. I tried way back then to paint, but didn't like the effect I got. But, watching your video's, has answered lots of questions and has given me a better foundation in starting and achieving the effects I have always wanted.Thanks again..
dunno quite why, but i love this model a lot... the Neyam Shai Murad one as well, just something really refreshing about the style and design language in the sculpt.
I find it interesting that you undercoat the gold with tan. I always start with a dark brown to give the gold a rich tone. The way you present the mini to the camera when painting is very impressive. The finished mini is as impressive as ever. Tip top.

This is one model I actually tried to do myself following the paint scheme from G.W. It took a fair bit longer to paint than yours but I'm very happy with the results. I used this model to do some airbrushing for fade effect on his purple cloak. Great video as always. Yaay Rein and Raus next....I've been holding off on painting my twins....I know even without having seeing your video that I will be using it. Your Traitor guard troops came out amazing when I followed your walkthrough, and R&R are similar equipped troops so can't wait.

Great video as always. I am constantly impressed by the quality. I have a question - how do the reds and greens appear like Espern's eyes? I think it is amazing that the definition and precision is always seen in your models when you use colours in that spectrum
Hmmm, it's tricky! I can see the contrast, like how light or dark it is just as normally as anyone else, but the vibrancy of the colour is mostly lost on me in that spectrum. So long as it looks bright in the middle and darker at the edges, I'm happy, haha.

Haha, well played! We haven't actually tried him out yet. I think he's pretty vulnerable, but can change what the enemies do to make them less effective.

Hey pal! No, the models I paint are the ones I use :) I'm quite a lazy painter by nature, so effective speed painting is what I've been developing all these years, haha
general question, do you have tips on how to paint the inside of capes while avoiding other bits. While it's not as notable here, there's a lot of figures with a billow-cape that require that sort of reach-up-and-in that I haven't figured out entirely.
Good question! If you watch the previous video in this series, the one on Dahyak Grekh, you'll see my cheat technique. Basically, just get black, or a very dark colour, up in the back of the cape before you start painting any other details. If you want it to look better, I would recommend part-assembling the model before painting :)
The goggles and posture of this guy for some reason makes me think Professor Farnsworth from Futurama...... but with a hammerhead shark helmet on for some reason... GOOD NEWS EVERYONE......... lol
