Gaynor, just recently discovered your videos, and I am obsessed.I’ve already learned so much from watching you which I will continue to do. You are such an inspiration. ❤
Happy Thursday Gaynor! 🌟 Gosh I’d love to read your sketchbook!! Ha ha I’m so nosy and intrigued.😳 Just a glimpse of all those words in your book…looks interesting 🥸 Maybe put it in print?…Artists or budding Artists would love to read it . Good idea for a book? Glad you are enjoying your interior investigations 😊 loving that blue green❤️ I’m on my iPad in bed listening to all the funny sounds outside…..and there are some Very funny sounds that I hear from my bedroom. 😅 We have a middle age neighbour who has recently got a boyfriend and the ‘Whole’ street can hear what a fun time they are having! No one in the street has ever heard it SO loud. There is a dog that goes past that now mimics the sounds they make, it’s so regular! I feel like I’m in a French film 😅 I think next time we should all stand outside and applaud 😄 I just realised it’s a very interesting street for noises …maybe I should record them all. Some of them scared me until I found out what they were. One was a drone type noise very late in the night. My mind did somersaults trying to figure out why someone would fly a drone late at night? Burglars looking for an open window? Alien invasion? …..In the end, one day a disabled person in a scooter went past and Boom! That was the sound! I’m definitely in a French film! Ha ha I hope you have a fun and interesting week. Thanks for sharing your work and world with us xxx❤️❤️❤️
I'm laughing out loud at your "sounds by the neighbor". As a 65 yo I say good for them!!! Enjoy life while you can. I am hoping to get something down in my journal this week & I love seeing others sketchbooks & journals. Hope you have a nice day.
Hello Lovely Teresa, this made my day !! We are currently catching up on "Boat Story"...have you seen it? Newly found love and other things !!!! Unknown sounds also remind me of looking at objects in the distance that I can't workout......all sorts of things come to mind before I can see clearly ! Have a wonderful week XXX
Another one of your explorations, “tufted chair.” So many ways you have started to explore this subject. It lends itself to Matisse with the scrolling wood and tuff pattern. You’ve come up with some interesting palettes to harmonize with this blue-green color. Clever and you have a great sense of color, intuitively or from years of experience (?). Love these pieces of art. Go Gaynor!
As soon as your video ended I got my own e book of Steal Like An Artist! How lucky am I. Currently I’m working on a mixed media painting and was scrubbing away at the foreground (learned that from you), to make it look old. What a brilliant trick that is! Thank you! I’m becoming less fussy and more spontaneous! Hooray. I guess now I’ll have to get out the easel my grandfather made! It’s got to be 100+ years old. Thanks ever so much for sharing your processes with us❤️
So excited to see another video. I absolutely love the subject matter of Chairs. I painted some watercolors of chairs in lockdown of 2020 & really loved them. That easel is very nice. I haven't read that book yet either but see it recommended by so many so I see a visit to my library soon. I have embarked on a project to sort thru all my craft & art supplies & pare down because I simply have too many for the space I have and I have no room to work on anything unless it is on my dinning room table. I recently read a quote that People with a lot of art supplies live longer than those who comment to them that they should get rid of something. LOL ---In that case I'm going to live forever!!!!
Thanks Gaynor! Your easel is such a great gift to yourself with Christmas money. By the way, Austin Kleon has a couple of other books you might enjoy. Hope the snow stays away. Love the 3 bears chairs😂
Another great video. I wish it was Thursday every day. I work in an art school and we have back to back exhibitions throughout the year so I see a lot of paintings, but I have never been so inspired since I found your channel. I love your energy and passion . The way you approach a subject and I love your work. Thank you for sharing your creative journey with us.
I know this will sound silly, but, your little walk through the library brought tears to my eyes. I do love a good library and I haven't physically been able to go in a really long time. I could smell all the good bookie smells as you walked through yours. 😃 On an opposite note, you can by a kindle copy of the book if you like it enough to keep. Anyway, thanks for another joyful day in your studio. You are delightful!
Thaks Gaynor, i love how you took a previous paiting and used it to paint yr chair. A great under painting,i think its great. As always i love the video ,never boring and full of variety. ❤❤❤👍👍👍

As a loyal lifelong lover of green, this week's video & your work is making my heart sing! Oh my GOODness, the lush color & beauty!! Tell Rocket happy birthday from Karen 💚💚💚
Hello Karen, Rocket says thank you for your birthday wishes 💚 And yes, having used a lot of blue over the Christmas period, I am really happy to be playing with the greens XXX Have a fantastic weekend XXX
I love your videos Gaynor, they inspire me when I'm doubting myself. One question for you, without prying do you get regular sales and if so what do you think the biggest contributing factor is? I'm only asking because I struggle outside of exhibitions. Thanks in advance, have a great weekend.
Hello Maria, thank you for your kind comment. Regular sales....No..it is really hard going. I sold more paintings through exhibition last year than the year before and I am very grateful for that. I am building a website (very slowly) and I should approach galleries but my main income comes from other work (not art related) and I am grateful for that too ! Thank you for watching and have a great weekend too X
Yay Happy Bday Rocket 🎉 Paint Rocket on the chair, that was a great photo capture. 🚀 That library scene looks like a good painting with its arches as well. I have felt the same about easels, what was the name of it again? Something & Wilcox? The fact that it has wheels and is more seemingly stable looks like a winner. Thanks again for another spectacular painting adventure. All the best from Arizona Day 4 Freezing Advisory (unheard of, peculiar weather)
Hello Stefanie, I just LOVE hearing from other artists all over the world ! Crazy weather indeed !!! Rocket says thank you for his Birthday Wishes X My new best friend is from Cowling and Wilcox ! Thank you so much for watching and taking time to comment XXX
I saw the book recommendation in your comments and downloaded it too. I have a Mabef easel that was given to me years ago along with loads of canvasses, it’s in a lock up in darkest Lancashire waiting for the day we move back to land. It weighs a ton and is great for studio work. When we lived in Norfolk the house had a concrete base studio in the garden and oh how I miss that space. Another fab video Gaynor loving the chairs 👍
Hi Gaynor I started following your art journey yesterday and I AM REALLY HAPPY to have discovered your channel. Did you go to France recently? If you did have you sketches and more to share? You have a delightful personality and you are inspirational. Many Thanks. Dianne (Australia)

You are an absolute joy to watch. New subscriber here and also a TH-cam creator. I am really looking forward to seeing how this group of paintings progress. While sitting here watching your video, I went online and ordered "How To Steal Like An Artist" from my library. I was told about this book before but you reminded me about it, so it's on it's way to me now!
I found out about Golden's Virtual Paint Mixer from Jane Davies here on TH-cam. She has a recent video called Virtual Color Mixer where she goes through all the ways to use the tool. Fun!!!

I love your work, Gaynor! Question: what do you call your style of painting? Like the flowers and the boat pictures. They aren’t realism, but not exactly abstract either.

Yay Happy Bday Rocket 🎉
Paint Rocket on the chair, that was a great photo capture. 🚀
That library scene looks like a good painting with its arches as well.
Always lovely to read your comments and watch your videos....in the better weather can you have an easel on deck ? XX
Love where you are going with the green chair. Will you introduce fabric/wallpaper designs like Matisse? Great easel.
Hello Mary.....wow....you are with me !!!! I have been working with wallpaper today and will put it in Thursdays video ! XXX
The library app on the phone is great for audio books.
Hi Judi, I'm a convert !!! X
Hi Gaynor
I started following your art journey yesterday and I AM REALLY HAPPY to have discovered your channel.
Did you go to France recently? If you did have you sketches and more to share?
You have a delightful personality and you are inspirational. Many Thanks. Dianne (Australia)
Hello Dianne, A Big Welcome 😊So good to hear from new viewers. We haven't been to France recently but hopefully we will ! Thank you for watching and taking time to leave a very kind comment X
Thank you so much! I'm tempted to find an old copy of the book and paste the pages on my walls !!! Have a great week XX
Oh, great idea! Thank you, you as well.@@gaynorpattle
I found out about Golden's Virtual Paint Mixer from Jane Davies here on TH-cam. She has a recent video called Virtual Color Mixer where she goes through all the ways to use the tool. Fun!!!
Thanks Deanna, I will take a look, that sounds like a lot of fun 🥰
Thanks Gaynor, I’m inspired as always by your bold creativity and courage. Austen Kleon has a weekly substack newsletter - I subscribe to the free version which is often full of generous snippets. Regards from Durham x
Hello Donna, thank you so much for sharing the substack newsletter....I'm subscribed XX
I love your work, Gaynor! Question: what do you call your style of painting? Like the flowers and the boat pictures. They aren’t realism, but not exactly abstract either.
Hello Diane and thank you X I guess Semi Abstract .... an interpretation ?
Gaynor, does your husband spray or hand paint with a brush your frames?
He uses a spray gun 😊
Like an airbrush? They look so nice. My husband does my frames as well and we have yet to find a tried and true method
@@denisevance1045 Hi Denise, we have had many disasters trying to get the right finish !! He now uses a top fed air spray gun. There will be trial and error with the mix of the paint and the right nozzle etc. but it is worthwhile 😊
