I just wanted to welcome you to BTS world. As a older black woman who is also a lover of dance and music I knew every emotion you experienced. When I first dove into BTS I was amazed at their wide range and grew to realize that BTS is their own genre. Can’t label or put them in any box except if it’s for excellence. They are my babies and I love following and supporting their journey. I must let you know that you haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of these wonderful young men. I watched your first video and knew immediately I would click with you. I would love to share my experiences and provide some introductions/ directions of what you should view. Only because I feel as if I know you ( for your honest reactions remind me of my initial responses). Don’t want to overwhelm you but excited to have you enjoy them as much as I do. Keep at it, I’m loving it thus far!!!

The world-renowned choreographer Martha Graham once said, “a dancer dies twice - once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful.” I believe this song makes this point regarding their love for music/performance. Thank you for showing us your bare emotions, you are starting to get why we become ARMY. A lot of people think that ARMY's only goal is to make BTS successful by breaking records but the reality is that BTS MAKES GREAT MUSIC, music that enriched our life and make us happy and so we want people to listen to their music because it MIGHT MAKE YOU HAPPY. Welcome to the rabbit hole.

As a ballet dancer myself, part of what makes "Black Swan" so amazing to me is how they allow their emotion to be expressed throughout their dancing. From a dancer's perspective, I use dance as an outlet to let the world see who I am. I show my emotions through my arm movements and grace. It's totally understandable that BTS makes you emotional and ARMY is here for you.💜 I would totally recommend "Life Goes On". That song is another emotional one about a struggle that we can all relate to. This pandemic has caused a rift in everyone's life whether it be positive or negative. It's also a song that brings BTS closer to me, because quarantine has been rough on me and knowing that they understand and feel the same way too is reassuring.

Don’t worry about crying! I’ve have cried before when it comes to bts , their lyrics are beautiful. There’s a saying that bts finds you when you need them, I do believe that. I first heard about them and got into them when I was going through a hard time , struggling with anxiety and depression. At times I still struggle but when I say bts saved me, I mean it. In general they helped me and lots of Armys to love themselves and be themselves, I’ve been getting better and been trying to find myself, I hope you enjoy them and learn more about them, you won’t regret it.

In Suga's words, " Rather than approach Kpop as a genre, a better approach would be ‘integrated content.' K-pop includes not just the music, but the clothes, the makeup, the choreography…all these elements sort of amalgamate together in a visual and auditory content package, that sets it apart from other music or maybe other genres".
    Hope it helped.

They do have many energetic, light & lively pop songs and they also have so many deep meaningful songs which everyone can relate and feel, especially ones in their albums that don't have mvs. English tranlation of their song lyrics are not portraiting 100 % of their true expressions but still enough to feel, sympathize and get comforts.

Same with Magic Shop. It's verbalizing the call and response part. We all sing along to songs. But to take a pause and wait for so show me/I'll show you, it feels like I'm pulling the words out myself. It's verbalizing the intent to show them that I really can open up my mind to clarity. See saw and Fake love also made me realize how I was handling my relationships.

BTS Makes a point of not confining themselves to the limits of one genre. They are all apart of writing, producing, and composing their music, so you will find their individual personalities reflected in their music. The members do some solo songs as well. If you like R&B, listen to Singularity and Stigma which are solo songs by V.

  • @pyang46699
    @pyang46699 2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

Why you are emotional, it's because music is universal. There's no boundaries when it comes to feeling and understanding the song even though you do not know the language. Weird thing is how you mentioned how you love dance so much. This song is definitely about their love of dance, singing and performing. How they are scared to lose that passion and if that were to happen it would be the lost of themselves and their love. This is why BTS are so powerful and loved, the messages they can carry for people who can understand no matter their situations, race, age, gender... how can you hate a group who not only create great music but put out such positive vibes... and they are considered Kpop but they are their own genre... legends in the making, making their own genre...

It's pretty rare for me nowadays for a song to make me cry and BTS have more than a few that get me every single time. Black Swan is incredible in so many ways - it's deep lyrically and the old theatre it was filmed in is beyond gorgeous. RM, he's the group's leader with pinkish hair, said that he cried a lot while writing this particular song and I can't imagine how they felt as a group when creating it. They're all still young men but have done music for most of their young lives and I firmly believe that they'll continue into the future either as writers, producers, singers, etc. We ALL have things that we love and cherish but couldn't fathom losing that spark for whatever it is. Instead, BTS said that they looked directly at this fear and stood strong by saying they won't be swept away to lose their passion. This song proves to me that the boys are world class artists... they're great singers, rappers and dancers but it's the quality of their lyrics that make me proud to be part of their ARMY. This is one of those songs I want to see live in a concert venue once we're able to do that again because it's such a masterpiece. BTW, tears are more than okay since I've ugly cried more than my fair share when lyrics hit me straight in the heart.

I only discovered BTS early this year, while recovering from COVID. I love dance videos & TH-cam pushed Jimin's live performance of "LIE" to me. After seeing him dance & listening to his vocals, I HAD TO KNOW who this young man was....DOWN the BTS rabbit hole I went. My next experience with BTS was "BLACK SWAN," again, featuring Jimin's dance. I didn't know it when I clicked on the video, but found myself mesmerized by Jimin's dancing. I have been binge watching BTS music videos, documentaries, introduction videos, etc., since January and cannot get enough of these young men. Not only are they TALENTED, but they have great hearts, souls. They remain humble, even though they can rule the world. Their acts of charity; their messages of hope, encouragement, and kindness, tells me that these men deserve EVERYTHING GOOD that comes their way. They don't EXPECT anything; they work hard to give their gift of music to their fans, and the world. The hate they've received throughout their career is shameful, but they persevered and triumphed. The fact that they still receive hate is beyond comprehension! I will forever be grateful to them for the joy they've brought into my life, especially during such a trying time. I look forward to seeing more of your reactions to BTS. Please check into the BTS introduction videos. You will be blown away!

I'm now going to tell you one of my experience. I'm 18 y/o boy. I'm a bts stan from 2 years. Last year, in Christmas I was really sad , I was suffering from anxiety and it was really my first time. Though it wasn't even that serious. But still I was really sad and I was holding that feelings inside of my heart. Then on Christmas that day , Jimin dropped his song 'Christmas love'. To be honest I became an army cause of Jimin so he is my bias. Then I just clicked on the song and when I heard his voice, I just couldn't control my tears. I just can't. They were streaming automatically. I can't tell you how I felt at that time. And from that day I got rid of anxiety. I'm soo thankful to BTS. They are more than a mere artist. 💙💕

If you love dance then you are in a ride with BTS.... just to let you know BTS finds you when you need them the most. This song is about how an artist dies twice the first is loosing the passion for what you love. The dancer you really focused on was of course Jimin. 😉

Never apologize for your honest feelings, they make us all emotional. Jimin is the one doing the ballet/contemporary dancing portion. You were right in your judgment of him as he says he is lost in another world when he dances. You are doing a great job of being real. Love your channel.

This is what I love about BTS. The realness, the rawness, the lack of fear of emotions, communicating. They find us right when we need them. You may find that certain songs move you and you can move past other songs. It's what you feel in your soul. This song, and particularly the professional dance video of this song, without the boys and much more classical in tone, moves me to tears every single time. Blessings to you and your journey - wherever it may take you.

I hope you will continue to show us your first reactions because we love to see the effect these talented men have on people. You are right - they are different. Unlike any musical group I’ve ever come across. I’m 55 and I grew up listening to hard rock, grunge and alternative and never would have believed I would like this group. And I was never a fan of rap either but I love their rap- I’m definitely a rap line stan now. I think there are a lot things that contribute to my love for them- their underdog story, their hard work, artistry and talent, intelligence, perseverance through all the hate they got and continue to get. They are humble, hilarious, loving, kind hearted, goofballs. And they’re gorgeous to boot. Enjoy your journey. I look forward to seeing more of your reactions.

Your genuine and first reaction to the music, the vocals, the dance, the message is great. That, to me, is what is best about a reaction. And don’t worry about tears…it’s a genuine expression and lovely and pure. Tears were flowing right along with you ( and I have seen this MV dozens of times)…when something moves you, it moves you. As someone else mentioned, Borahae ( ARMY sending out love). BTS is just BTS 🙂💜

I totally relate to how you reacted to this video. I also cry over things that are overwhelmingly beautiful in my eyes. BTS has moved me in ways I have not expected. Never knew I would cry over a dance but I did. I think the boys' passion and sincerity to their art are the strongest points they effectively convey to the audience that is why anyone experiencing them for the first time would be moved at some degree. I love these boys so much! Hope you continue to discover their music. More power to you! 💜

As the MV doesn't included the whole choreography, the main reason that attracted me to BTS in the first place, Watch the Black Swan Art Film. It was pre-released before BTS came out with their version. It was danced by a dance company and the music was using orchestral instruments and music. They danced in black clothes and in bare feet. They danced in a ballet/contemporary style. BTS watched this film and all agreed that Jimin should dance the lead, as he had training in contemporary/ballet style. On the Late Late Show with James Corden you will see the debut of this dance and the stage and setting was awesome! Watch that one next, it may be blocked so you can watch it on your own. BTS decided to keep the ballet/contemporary style, and even danced in bare feet. They also added this music you hear now which uses this music, instead of the orchestral music.

Please consider watching the many BTS dance practice videos available on TH-cam and reacting to them. There is one for each MV and they show the entire dance without editing. They are recorded in a practice room and you can hear the foot falls, see the energy, and hear the breathing at the end. Amazing stuff for anyone who loves dance.

Its ok to cry. I have to admit it took me by surprise. I think you're the first person I've seen cry to this song. I have to admit seeing your emotion touched me, I cried too. BTS is going to amaze you over and over again. BTS IS DIFFERENT!! They will always give you more than you expect. You have to just jump in and try to hold on😅 Please prepare yourself!
Most of their MVs are full of symbolism and stories. I get overwhelmed watching BTS most of the time. The visuals, music, performance( and just they men they are) blows me away. You are right, they are an experience! You have to experience BTS to understand why ARMY love them so much! BTS are their own genre.
We all cry so please don't judge yourself so harshly. There is nothing baby-ish about it. We all express ourselves differently. Love yourself, Speak yourself. I think BTS found you at the right time.
BTW always have water and tissues near by. There is a lot of crying in this fandom for different reasons. There is also a lot of laughing too! BTS are hilarious 😂

This was the most HONEST reaction to this video that I've seen so far (of the many that I have watched). It is so reminiscent of my own the first time that I saw Black Swan. I fell down the BTS rabbithole last September 2020 and have just been consuming their content at a steady pace ever since.
As an older Black woman myself, having grown up steeped in the arts and entertainment, but now sooooo far removed from it all due to life circumstances, I crumbled under the weight of my appreciation for what they presented here in Black Swan, just from the visual and sonic excellence that they poured into the whole production. It uncovered my longing for how wonderful I used to feel in my body, being able to dance and sing, and feel in control. Back when I felt so powerful in my youth. It was like the music and the imagery and the performance was asking me, "Do you remember...?"
At first, I worried that I was overreacting and I literally started searching through reaction videos trying to see of anyone else felt that lightening bolt that I did, and here you are! And Sis, there's so much more...umm umm ummm. If you thought the video performance was awesome, wait until you see one of the "live" show performance vids. BTS' official music videos are superb, but their show performances just take me out!
Welcome, welcome!! Come on in! But leave your expectations at the door. Just open your ears, eyes, and heart to the spectacular that is BTS and enjoy the ride.

This song is beautiful. Beautifully written, produced, choreographed, styled and filmed! There’s an orchestral version of this song along with an art film which is danced by other dancers but still beautiful and powerful. BTS is truly a group that keeps you riveted and intrigued. They make music for everyone everywhere and it’s always from a place of love well except for the cyphers which are diss tracks to the haters 🤷🏾‍♀️ but there’s still advice given in those so it’s still love 💜 glad to welcome you on this journey whether you stick to BTS or branch out to other KPop just know it’s an experience! I’m 38 and have been listening to BTS since 2017 and as of 2019 I rarely listen to anything or anyone but them but I do enjoy other music and other KPop artists but no one affects me the way BTS does their lyrics speak volumes. The saying goes you don’t find BTS, BTS finds you! And it’s true they find you when you need them even though you don’t realize you do 🤷🏾‍♀️

Hi, I too love dance above almost everything. There is no problem with tears. This is an incredible piece of art. It’s not being a baby to appreciate that.
One way to do these is just watch. Then, a 2nd time through, just read the lyrics. There are always levels to each music video. 1st is the surface, the visual. 2nd level is the surface plus the lyrics. 3rd may be a connection to a huge storyline that connects their albums, a webtoon, short films, some books. I don’t think this is connected to that storyline.
There are other commentators that tell you about the meaning of ‘my first death’. I think, for this video only, the black wings mean the angel of death. When BTS is in white, they are creative, fulfilled by music. In black, they are struggling with this. At the end, the member is in black and has died his first death.
All music videos have an associated dance video. The dance is very shortened in the MVs because of the story being told. In the dance practice, you see the full choreography. It is always a real treat.

Welcome!! As someone who has always been involved with music, theatre, and dance I absolute LOVE BTS! They are the best performers and the most humble, sweet, talent men. Everyone says BTS is the genre and it’s absolutely true! They have such a wide variety of songs spanning literally every genre. They are so involved in the music process- they write, and produce and have artistic creativity throughout their careers. Their lyrics are so meaningful and there are many translations out there (i like doolset bangtan). You aren’t the first to cry at a BTS song, and ARMYs (BTS fandom) embrace that! I like how natural and open you are! I’m glad you’re enjoying BTS, it reminds me when I started down my BTS rabbit hole into becoming ARMY. Black Swan is a true work of art and it is a video i come back to often. Since you like dance you should definitely check out their dance practice videos (they’re all SOOO good). My favorite choreography that they do is from On: Kinetic Manifesto Film- you’d definitely love it! Any live performances that you can watch, I’d definitely do that because they are even better live! I am 66 years old and I found BTS during the fall of 2020. I agree with you, BTS is an experience. They have a song for every emotion and their commitment to their work and deep love and appreciation for ARMY, their fans, is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced as a music lover. They truly believe that their success would never have happened if ARMY wasn’t part of this journey. To be so talented and yet so humble and gracious really touches my heart because I just don’t see that in the vast majority of American performers. BTS are perfectionists too because they feel they owe us their very best. Crying is okay. You’re among friends here. 💜.

I am a 64 year old ARMY grandma and I have subscribed to your channel to join you in your BTS journey. I think you seem like a wonderful person (your reaction to Jimin/Jimout videos cracked me up) and I know the BTS ARMY will welcome you with open arms. Don't put those tissues away yet!!! BTS will send you on a memorable roller coaster ride! You should also know that understanding their music from a Korean perspective is also sometimes very much needed (i.e., 'Spring Day', 'Baepsae', etc) and there is a channel called DKDKTV that provides explanations to their genius songwriting, when necessary. The Map of the Soul series begins with RM's rap song 'Persona'. The DKDKTV explanation explains 'Persona'/Carl Jung and when reacted to back to back, will help you understand the references to our shadow, our ego, and self acceptance that show up in many of the music videos...so don't forget to include the explanations when there is one.! I won't overwhelm you, but there IS a story line that runs through and connects most of the videos, but you'll learn that as you go!! Borahae and welcome to BTS.

I love your reaction. BTS is dynamic, and I can’t find anyone that can draw the emotions out as they can. I have been a fan since 2017 and they surprise us daily, the dancing is what captured me. Everyone is striving to be not just KPOP but the genre known as BTS. You are my first female reactor that I have subscribed to. Jimin is their best contemporary dancer and can hit some amazing high notes. JHOPE is their best hip hop dancer. He is also a rapper but he has an amazing singing voice also. JungKook is the youngest and he do everything. He can harmonize with anyone and is considered the best vocalist of the group and is usually the center when performing, of course each member gets the center when it’s their turn. All of the members have their own specialty and as they say it is seven and they would not be BTS without all seven. They proved that when Suga was out and they had to perform without him, they always left his spot empty. I am 56 and I love these young men. My family think I am crazy because I like music they can’t understand. Music transcends everything and as long as their music makes me feel I will continue to listen to them… Keep showing us your true self.

Being emotionally touched by a piece of art like this is common and even RM says he cried when writing this because they all fear losing the passion for music. I don’t know what challenges you are facing but may you find some islands of peace to navigate them. Be kind to yourself, love yourself.
