Please do me a favor, don't get intimidated or irritated because it's a different language. It's music first, all MV are subtitled. Just choose your language. BTS only has 3 full english songs. Jungkook, lead vocalist, just released an all english solo album 'Golden'.
The great thing about them is that they are equally shining. Always. They each bring something different to the table and they utilize everyone’s talents/skills. Unlike most groups where there’s a clear lead and everyone is practically backup, like in the West.
Is this hip hop? Many underground rappers in Korea would argue about BTS being hip hop, despite the fact that both Suga and RM started in the underground scene at 13 yo. They thought that when they joined BTS they had sold out, because they were just being handed music and told to do it. In fact they couldn't bemore wrong, because even before they debuted both were writing their own songs for BTS about the things that mattered to them - but at that time it was very rare for such groups to be allowed to do that. Now BTS' song list exceeds 300, and RM has 2014 some to his name and Suga at least 135 (don't know what his current total is, and frankly, recently he has been going a bit berserk). So, yes, BTS was planned to be a hip hop band, but that changed early and they debuted as what is known in Korea as an Idol group - a very different animal - and what in the west is thought of as Kpop - but Kpop is not a music style but simply a Korean industry - Korean pop. Their music covers many different genres, and many subjects, including complex philosophical thoughts, science, sociology, psychology, moral philosophy, growing up, growing older, loss, anger, inequality, love, hormones, ... and superheros. Some of that sounds heavy, but it's weird, they always make you feel better. They work bloody hard on the lyrics so always put on English subs, and try to make time to watch a couple of times, because ... they are fast. There's a lot to enjoy, the message is important, and I want to know what they are saying. As to whether you are ARMY, ... anytime you feel you are, you are. We don;t decide, you do. But you can take your time. In the last year they have released 6 solo albums and a solo single. Since 2013 when they debuted? 13, plus multiple free projects including 5 solo mixtapes for ARMY. Hats off to you dude for giving them a chance. I highly recommend the BTS Guide to the Bangtan 7 by Taylor Mari. You will learn more about them than most artists reveal about themselves and you will probably be surprised at some things. ARMY will assist you along the way. From their beginnings I recommend DOPE MV. They had a lot of haters and this was their message to them.
When watching a foreign film subtitles are provided so people who don't speak the language can have a fuller appreciation of the film. The same goes for a large number of TH-cam videos. With BTS most of the time you can turn on the closed captions and there is a translation. Sometimes it is autogenerated which usually is way off, but most of the time a human being took the time to more or less accurately provide you an English reading of the lyrics. Black Swan actually is quite deep so you may want to watch it again in your own time with subtitles seeing as you liked the song. The song does become significantly more impressive when you know what it is about.
I recommend Born Singer by BTS. It’s the BTS adaptation of J. Cole’s Born Sinner they wrote in 2013 but J.Cole gave them permission to release it officially in 2022 for their anniversary

Not the best song recommendation for rap lover. It should have recommended that you put the cc on for English subtitles. Too bad. Try Outro:Tear which is a live performance however you have to find one with subtitles. The other alternative is either Mic Drop mv or ON: Kinetic Manifesto Film.
Im all for Outro Tear, but i dont think you should go all out with the rap line. Tear only has the 3 rappers of the group, but BTS as 7 also has a lot of hiphop influenced songs. I see that people are already suggesting all kinds of songs so i'll just leave one out for Fake love. It cant be considered fully hiphop, but its a good song, with great choreography and a nice music video. It wont be a waste of time.

Are you not pulling up the subtitles for the lyrics on these songs? You keep saying you don't know what they're saying which leads me to believe you don't have subtitles. They really are important to BTS music. Most of their songs even their rap are not in English you need the subtitles.

You should check out hip hop file cyphers think its 1-4 and a steve aoki mic drop if your interested in BTS hip hop style music but also give the 6 other genres they can performe a chance also you should check out taylor maries an introduction to the bangtan 7 to get a bit of their background story.. i can let you know that i myself am a rock fan but bts is so woth the chance they are such great artist and there music carry such a great message.

Not the best song recommendation for rap lover. It should have recommended that you put the cc on for English subtitles. Too bad. Try Outro:Tear which is a live performance however you have to find one with subtitles. The other alternative is either Mic Drop mv or ON: Kinetic Manifesto Film.

Im all for Outro Tear, but i dont think you should go all out with the rap line. Tear only has the 3 rappers of the group, but BTS as 7 also has a lot of hiphop influenced songs. I see that people are already suggesting all kinds of songs so i'll just leave one out for Fake love. It cant be considered fully hiphop, but its a good song, with great choreography and a nice music video. It wont be a waste of time.
I don't understand why only their English songs are insisted🤦 Their songs in Korean or Japanese are 10 times better, you can turn on the subtitles. Again I say too much pausing, and on a big screen. Be more open-minded
you are really doing your self and this song a disservice if you don't go back and watch it WITH the closed captions. ALL official MV's have closed captions and it is highly reocmmended as BTS lyrics are deep and not to be missed. please use them!!

Are you not pulling up the subtitles for the lyrics on these songs? You keep saying you don't know what they're saying which leads me to believe you don't have subtitles. They really are important to BTS music. Most of their songs even their rap are not in English you need the subtitles.

La mayoría de su discografía está en coreano y japonés, supongo que BTS no tendrá un fan, pero para "fans" así mejor no tener. Por eso no me gustan que los gringos, piensan que las canciones deben estar en inglés para que sean buenas, hola? no todo es USA
Aparte que si quieres genuinamente escuchar a BTS debes primero abrir tu mente, la mayoría de canciones que escucharás serán 99% coreano o japonés y 1% inglés
