I'm so glad you posted this. I am "expecting" (Haha) at least one hatchling (there may be 2) in a couple of weeks. My "DNA proven Male" turned out to be female (yikes!) but it's not a bad thing after all. My male is 25. I've had him his entire life (after he was weaned). His previous cagemate of 21 years passed away last year, which was devastating for both of us. I adopted 8 YO Ollie (my female) a few months ago. They bonded almost immediately after she arrived (this was while I thought she was a male). Anyway, here we are now with eggs. I've candled 4..1 had an embryo. The other 3 didn't. There's still one more to check. Anyway, yours was the only video I could find without music. I wanted to know what a hatchling GCC sounded like, so I know when it's being born. I'm hoping and praying that my male and female will know how to take care of it for the first few weeks.
Hi I ask you. Can I have one your newborn parakeet? Because my parakeet parents been have their all 16 eggs are gone again on 3 times. It's too hard. I can't try it one more again because I never experience breeding parakeet
the mom looks a little stressed out, make sure her food and water are clean frequently:)
I like how the mom was preening its child even before it was out of its shell
Did the mom even have any food to feed her babies? She sure looked and acted stressed out not having anything to feed them ....
You do realise they regurgitate food for them. She was likely acting stressed because they were interfering with her nesting area
