      This applies for PMSM motor or all motors?

    • @thesubcooledmind7910
      @thesubcooledmind7910  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      These exact equations do not hold true for all the motors. But the idea remains the same. You write the KVL equation for the three-phases in ABC form and then apply Clarke and Park Transform to get the equation in DQ quantities.

      Hello sir, can you please guide me how can we do precise position calculation for pmsm motor with hall sensor. ?

    • @thesubcooledmind7910
      @thesubcooledmind7910  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on where the hall sensor is placed. There are quite a few magnetic position sensors available that attach a magnet to the shaft of the sensor and get precise position information. For example, check out this IC from Infineon - www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/sensor/magnetic-sensors/magnetic-position-sensors/angle-sensors/tle5501-e0001/

  • @gromgromeson
    @gromgromeson 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    In practise if we use a PMSM motor can we always assume that Ld=Lq? so is mtpa for pmsm just a straight line on the q axis?
    I understand that it is important for IPMSM but I'm not sure if i should care about this for PMSM.

    If you have PMSM motor in hand, how to find it is alligned to phase A or 90 degrees apart. Which simulation model need to be considered, before going for hardware test.

    • @thesubcooledmind7910
      @thesubcooledmind7910  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you give +ve DC supply to phase A and connect phase B and phase C to GND, the rotor aligns with phase A. You can use this information to tune your encoder.

    • @DharmendraKumar-mv3hf
      @DharmendraKumar-mv3hf 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thesubcooledmind7910 that means we must need absolute encoder right? or is it possible with inc encoder. if so, please provide

    • @thesubcooledmind7910

      Incremental Encoder should work. I do not remember the details but you can check out some documents from TI.

    Hello, I got two questions.
    Isn't it better to describe model of motor (both electric and mechanical part) by one big plant with state space? Or it's rather better to split in 2 models?
    And one more, I am not sure, how we can estimate rotor's position by only measuring back-EMF. Did i understand it properly (when we know, back-EMF is perpendicular to rotor flux and from that we can determine theta?) Please correct me if I am wrong.
    Thanks for answer and by the way, this series is great and I really enjoy watching it. Keep doing it bro.

    • @thesubcooledmind7910
      @thesubcooledmind7910  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. Whatever approach you take, the equations for the model remains the same and so the output. Model it the way you are comfortable with.
      2. Yes, your understanding is correct. Since, back-emf is perpendicular to the rotor flux - you can know the rotor position. To understand it in-depth, please look at some documents on sensorless FOC.
      Thanks. I am glad that you have enjoyed watching these videos. Happy Learning!
