It's too obvious you've paid the price in giving your life to practice and excellence. Bravo for you, you've got a rich reward in the playing such as this nice tune.
awesome cover ... now add your own feeling ... yep im picky and demanding ... that was nice but .. and no i cant play it yet ... it was a bit sterile where the original had swing that made it cook ... i feel you could do that ... peace from scotland #
Awesome! I learned to play this song by watching your video but I can't make out your fingering from 1:04 to 1:09, can you please send me the tab so I can learn the rest?
Hi Greg, thanks for the kind comments. Unfortunately I don't have a tab for this. The section you refer to is 2 C chords: x x 10 9 10 x to x x 10 9 8 x going to 2 G7 chords: x x 9 10 10 x to x x 9 10 8 x with a banjo roll pattern in the right hand just on this 3 strings - which you should be able to get from the video. Hope that helps
Matt you know I'm a big fan. I tried Yakety Axe myself, but couldn't get it to your speed, not even close. And though I own your backing track, I made my own for a different arrangement. Anyway here is my version Yakety Axe cover version with lyrics
1.000.000 thanks for this "guitar lesson". Of course, your playing is awesome goog BUT, in addition of, I can see the right way (with left hand AND right hand) in order to play "true" in the Chet's style this "Yackety song". I play this tune in E (first note on High E string, 12th fret -hand position chord, F-). Best wishes from one (bad but professional since 1960 and still) musician (leads guitars -no finger picking- and -many- others instruments (tenor banjo, piano, -trombone , tuba...)JO
Awesome! You are a great player. I have learned most of this song by watching you, however I can't seem to get around 1:04 to1:09 can you help me out with it?
Matt, thanks for a great cover. OK, seriously looking at buying a Gretsch-- there is a 2008 Nashville-- of course, lots of guitars with Chet's name. Is there a noticeable difference between all the models?? Do you have a particular model which you would recommend for any reason?? thanks again
You've inspired me to start playing again. Had a stroke many years ago that rendered my left hand useless, but little by little I was able to play some of the "easy" tunes. Hopefully, if I can keep my fingernails intact for more than two days, I might put out something we did years ago. I found these on an old harddrive: www.youtube.com/@bjrnmgranvang1107/videos
It's impossible to be in a bad mood when this song is playing.
That is as accurate a rendition and as faithful to Chet's original as I have ever heard. Well done.
Thanks James!
Great work with that instrumental break in the middle where the harmonica often goes, I’ve been looking for this. Well done.
My compliments Matt. That was a great version!👏👏👏
All your Chet Covers are so clean and precise. Only a very accomplished guitarist could achieve this. This is a fun one!
You are a music magician, welcome from France, and bravo.

Is there any way you can make a guitar lesson of this I feel like that would make a huge hit for the channel
Chet would be pleased
Do you have tabs available, ie yakety axe? While I've found tabs elsewhere, there's one section that you play that is not in the tabs I've found.
I have the same problem maybe someone else can help out its at 1:04 to 1:09 in the song
you can't learn that from watching? its so simple.
