  • Mist Falls is a 9 mile hike located in Kings Canyon National Park. Unlike some other waterfalls in the area, this one tends to run for most of the year. On our hike, we saw FOUR different black bears! This was filmed in late October.

We need a q and a with you and Jackie. Let’s get her perspective on how she feels when you do some of these hikes esp some of the 14ers. I think it would be interesting

Kings Canyon is such an overlooked park I feel! Incredible scenery and a backpackers haven.

Yeah - loads and loads of bigger trips you can easily tackle in there. Would revisit in a heartbeat.

Wow, the way the water carved that rock looks like the grottos in CO.

Love the bears. Looks like they were pretty close.

Insanely close - one was like 5 ft away. Was super cool to see them that close up

Incredible! Added this trail to our itinerary. Even without the bears it’s a beautiful trail.

That's a disconcerting number of bears on such a short trail. Reminds me of Lost Mine Trail at Big Bend National Park, which seems to always have 400 bears on it.

It was really unbelievable, we thought we saw the same bear twice but after seeing the fourth one we knew they were all different.

Thanks for the video, love bears, it would make my month just to see one, I guess I should go to CA.

Agree it was so cool - been in Colorado for so long and have only seen 1 hiking. 5 on this day -crazy!

    Hi Sherpa,
You captured the scenic beauty wonderfully! I think I would have panicked were I that close to a bear in the wild.
I’m only slightly disappointed that you did not take us on a class 4+, 14,000’+, 20+ mile hike to the summit of a snow covered mountain requiring an ice axe.

😂😂😂 me too tbh - but the 6 hours a day of driving got the best of me. Will be back to CA soon to do just that

It looks like your luck with weather is a lot like mine. There was a period of time where I was considering a career as a rain maker. I'd just go camping wherever there was a drought, and that would do the trick.

Footage of the bears was awesome. Have you ever encountered a mountain lion? It's probably irrational, but I'm always afraid of meeting a bear or mountain lion when I hike solo.

You probably wouldn't see a mountain lion until it was attacking you. Though I agree, I would hate to run into one of those.

Have never seen a mountain lion - at all, let alone hiking. Bucket list but also not, you know?
