+Rachel Hong. Should've watched the entire video before commenting. Now ya got even more scratches on your screen. It wasn't TechMagnet's fault, it was your fault. Idiot.
You guys are missing the idea. Toothpaste has tiny grains in it so it works as a very small caliber sanding paper You might as well buy the lowest caliber sanding paper or sanding paste and apply it but you need to actually squeeze hard for a long time. The point is to polish your screen again to a flat surface not to fill the scratches with toothpaste. It works but it's hard to do :) someone with experience knows how to turn a rough finish to a mirror so that applies here
🟦 If you rub too-hard on one spot you're gonna make it hazy around the scratch, and if you end up not being able to get the scratch out now you've got a scratch AND a dull Haze! .....and THAT'S worse!
I have seen this video at 2.25am and immediately run to kitchen to try with my baking soda. As a result, the minor scratches on my phone become more severe and very much obvious now. Great help :(((
Toothpaste only acts as a polish. It only polishes, not fills scratches. If you want to fix your screen then just get some fine superglue. They make glues for plastics and that’s what you want to use. Apply a very thin layer of glue and spread it with a flat rubber scraping tool like an icing spreader. Then after 3 minutes put some isopropanol on a rag and wipe the screen once over but don’t apply to much force or you’ll remove the glue that’s set in the scratches.
I don’t doubt this works but toothpaste especially baking powder based toothpaste has a very light sanding effect due to the micro-grains in it so it’s not so much polishing as it is buffing
