No Penalty If Ball Hits Flagstick Left in Hole. If the player makes a stroke with the flagstick left in the hole and the ball in motion then hits the flagstick: There is no penalty (except as provided in (1)), and The ball must be played as it lies.
@@corymartin5264I think the rule used to be a penalty if you hit the flagstick while putting your ball on the green. In other words, you should have your caddy to attend and pull the flagstick from the hole once you have putted and your ball is approaching the hole. Obviously in cases where your ball hits the flagstick from a shot that originated off the green then it would not be a penalty since it’s not uncommon for someone to hit the flagstick on a 150+ yard shot and sometimes the ball hits the flag and drops in the hole.
@@user-hn9qg5qm3o it’s still wrong. The rules changed four years ago. You never need to pull the flag, and hitting the flag stick on a putt in no longer a penalty.
@@user-hn9qg5qm3o no problem! Makes it a whole lot more convenient if you’re playing a casual round. A lot of the 2019 rule changes were great for speeding up the round.
These rules aren’t current or correct.
Some of these rules seem obsolete with the 2019 rules
Great Video! Thank you 🔥👏💪🫶

Hitting an unattended flag stick, a penalty?? I thought that they changed that rule??
they did...
If hitting the flag stick is a one stroke penalty, do they ever really score a hole in 1? It would become a hole in 2 🤯
These guys are telling BS outdated rules.. No penalty added for hitting flag sticks

You know the original rule makers went way overboard on penalties when there is this name and many more
02:59 Loose, not lose. 2 stroke penalty
