    *I was expecting a lot of shortcuts to be taken at this price. I was wrong. Decent quality **Latest.Bike** raker . Easy on easy off.*

    I work for a glass company, our installers use the same suction cup design, but with grab handles. They are able to carry glass panels weighing well over a hundred pounds with just two cups, one for each person. A single 8" cup is rated to carry 125 lbs. Four cups for a bicycle weighing less than 30# is overkill, and should never fail. It's more to distribute the load over a larger surface area to protect the vehicle and for redundancy, as one cup should be able to hold the bike. Make sure the cups and vehicle surfaces are clean and dust free, and it should be problem free.

      I've tried to explain this to my friends but they still think I am crazy for using it. Then they stick their two grand bikes in a £30 bike rack from halfords and it wobbles all over the gaff. SMH

      @@Maccaroney Was thinking the same. The bike may be 30lb but at speed and going around corners the forces would increase, so maybe 4 cups is not such a bad idea

    I have been using the Talon for around 2 years on many different vehicles, no issues what so ever. I always get comments from other cyclists. Keep the suction cups in good condition be replacing the covers after each use.

    I have the Seasucker Minibomber and it's a fantastic product. It really is rock solid. The only downside is you can't leave your bikes out of sight as there is nothing stopping someone who knows how to discharge the vacuum cups from stealing your bike.

    Security is a worry, mainly around targeted attacks in town traffic (so many videos out there of guys taking bikes off racks while at lights). Surely there's a way of locking the suction pumps? That might not stop slow air leakage over time, but it would go some way to providing single trip safety, and even let you leave them on the roof while you're out riding for the day (like the guy in this video did, seemingly).

    • @D4ng3rD4n

    • @Tchairdjian
      @Tchairdjian 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Distance doesn’t matter. The speed shouldn’t either as they’ve demonstrated it on a race car... but they haven’t a cautionary limit especially if the bike is heavy... 45lbs plus.

    they have a real mountainbike and cannot use the quick fork mount. So lets wait for another damn week to get the 15mm mount.

    How easy was it to make the front mount boost compatible? Any details on the machining required? You don't have any issues with the crank clearance, i.e. they won't rotate in the wind causing you to have a nice DMR Vault sized dent in your carbon roof?

      Yes, you have to take it off, no anti-theft built-in. It's easily taken off just by using a finger to lift up the side of the suction cup; however, the suction is very powerful. Go check out www.seasucker.com They have two types of metal plates anchor that you can put in between the gap of your hatchback door/side doors or windows.

    I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...
