Moab Utah has forced me to face my fears. Fears of damaging my Jeep on harder trails, fears of heights on ledge roads, and a fears that an Overlander like myself has no place in the Rock Crawling community…but facing your fears makes you stronger right??? Well, I did a trail called Hells Revenge, and an obstacle called Hells Gate to that theory to the test.

Been watching your video's for years. I relate due to your age, kids, and former lifestyle. Happy to see you go full time!
Awesome! So cool to hear we have things common. Thanks for your support!
"I learned it by watching you alright!" We must have watched the same saturday morning cartoons.
@@johnk3337 🤣
Buddy I felt like I was right there with you in the Jeep as you went up - you edited that SO AMAZING!! Next level! 👊🏼🙌🏼👏🏻
Thanks Greg! This one was fun, but hard to edit, so It's nice to hear you liked it!
Rory Irish - Trail Mater does multiple repairs and recoveries on HR monthly (sometimes weekly), it's a popular Moab 4x4 route. Your 392 Rubicon & 37 inch tires, made the 'event' look effortless as you eased through the course. Impressive as you took off your 'Over landing' cape & put on your super 4x4 outfit and powered up the challenging spots. It's a well done & scenery captured video. Good luck to you & your family.
What a great comment, thank you!
You nailed Hell's Gate like a pro.
Thanks dude. Gotta go back.
I’m willing to bet I would’ve pooped my pants. Great drive man
😂🙌
That’s such an epic way to end your first Moab trip! Well done Will!!!
Thanks bro. Next time you have to go!
@@Venture2Roam absolutely!
one thing i like to do is drive to the top of the fin at about 5:20 at dusk, watch the sun set and hang out with the stars for a couple hours in my camp chair. i do it every time im in moab.
the drive back to the parking lot is a little scary in the dark the first time.
That sounds amazing. Putting it on my list of things to do in Moab. Need to get my rock lights installed lol.
Will, you’re officially a Rocklander now! Man, hope to visit this place one of these days. Looked like a blast brother and Hell’s Gate looks wild 🙌🏽
Let’s go bro!!
You skipped so many fun obstacles. Come do Hell's Revenge with me and we will have a blast. LOLOL.
Let’s goooooo
Great job on Hell's Gate! The footage is definitely something to watch periodically. By the end of the trip, you may have felt a little less anxiety about heights. The scenery was fantastic! If I could subscribe a second time, I would. Well done!!
You're right...at the end, I had adjusted to the trail and the heights and was just having fun! Thank you so much for your support!! More vids coming soon!
Great job Will! Glad to see you living your best life!
Thank you!!!
We have 2 Wranglers and 1 Gladiator with game changer lifts. The Wranglers drive great. We've had issues with the Gladiator ever since it was installed. We've put over 5k in upgraded steering and other components to try and get it right. We're still having issues.
Have you heard if others are having issues with metal cloak lifts in Gladiators?
I can only speak to the Wangler suspension. Hope someone else with a Gladiator reads this and and chimes in.
Great video Will! Thx for sharing. This reminded of the first time I teed off at Torrey Pines. I nailed the drive with a ton of people looking. Just had to "hold on" for 18 holes. Btw, loved hearing 21 Pilots' "Ride" in the background at the end. Already subscribed and looking forward to more.
lol..great analogy. Thanks for subscribing! Lots more coming soon.
Awesome job! Hell's Revenge is one of those trails that You've got to psych yourself up before running, but it's worth it every time. Definitely an epic ride 😎
Awesome video! You’re doing everything I have been dreaming of doing ! Love the content.
Right on, so glad to hear it!! Thanks for watching!
Love the video it definitely give me some apprehension too. I appreciate you sharing and overcoming it cause I’m hoping one day to do that myself.
Glad to hear some of that anxiety came through..it's a hard thing to show without over doing it. If I can do it, you can do it!!!!
Hi Will, I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching!!!
All of those trails in Moab are just incredible, it seems like in another life at this point I took a fullsize 3/4 pickup through that trail with just 33" tires and went up lions back prior to it being closed off. Longer wheelbase makes the trails easier in most cases.
Great videos from Moab this year!
I so agree. Moab is such a rad playground for off-road rigs. I can see how a longer truck would make this trail easier. Next time maybe I'll try it in my Gladiator!
Awesome job Will. As you said the spotter makes all the difference. Also you have to tell me your secret of keeping the Methods looking nice, one trip to Lost Trail and mine look like they were chew toys for alligators.
Mike was a solid spotter...and I think he was holding 2 cameras at the same time..so he's multi-talented :). And...my Methods are bit more scarred now than they were then thanks to Diff Hanger...we'll have to compare wheels at some point.
Nicely done, Will. My rig will never go there, but it was fun watching you do it. Thanks for taking us along ...
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it. I'm now looking forward to going back and doing it again!
Cool video Will! Looks like you guys had a great time. Although it was your first time on Hell’s Gate, you made it look easy! Having a great spotter and trusting them is key I guess. Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
A great spotter makes all the difference and Mike was "spot on". Thanks for watching!!!
Great job! I’m going to be in Moab for a night in July and will be the first time wheeling in Moab for me!
You'll love it. It's a playground for Off-Roaders. I hope you have a blast.
Great video. I really appreciate that you are so open and vulnerable with the challenges of rock crawling. I love off roading but ledges and steep drops give me anxiety, so I can completely relate.
I'm so glad to hear that! I'm really trying to show the honest ups and downs (literally lol) of driving off-road. It's refreshing to hear folks can relate to it! Thanks for watching!!!
Awesome... definitely a bucket list for off road enthusiasts...
Hopefully one day we will travel down from Calgary and embrace the ultimate adventure by wheeling in to the infamous Hell's Revenge.
Nicely done with awesome group of people.
Ya I had an awesome crew to wheel with that day...it makes a huge difference. Shaun and Mike are great people. Hope you make it down to Moab soon!
Some of the best driving I ever saw you do
Dude thank you so much!!!
Awesome video! Hells revenge is a fun trail, we did it on the Tuesday that week and I sort of regret not doing hells gate. Decided to skip it since it started snowing when I was debating it haha will definitely need to try it next time!
Snow on the slick rock would have made it a hard choice for me too. Glad you go to drive the rest of it though..it's definitely a trail worth doing! Thanks for watching!
I had so much fun out there my first time and I didn’t even do hells revenge because of my fear of heights so huge props to you for doing it! Now with my new rig… bring that shit on!! 😂
Having the right rig does make it a lot easier I think. Hope you get out there and conquer that trail!
I appreciate you keeping it real
Thank you! That's the only way to keep it IMO :)
You walked up Hell's Gate like a pro!!
Thank you!! Felt like a noob, but I’ll take the win 😂
Awesome job conquering your fears! I still remember the first time my old Jeep went vertical. It's a special feeling.
A "Special" feeling...also known as a "wet seat moment" lol.
@@Venture2Roam lol you're not wrong! I need to share the time I took a girlfriend's younger brother wheeling......he had a reaction...best told in person though...
Great video Will!
I heard you mention that downhill assist does not use brakes. I believe that is inaccurate, at least with the JK. There is a video out there of a guy using downhill assist down one of those long downhill Colorado trails. At some point, based on using it for an extended period of time, his brakes began to fail.
Oh...I could be wrong about that..thanks for pointing that out..I'll look it up. I've never used it for an extended amount of time.
Hats off to you! I’d be a nervous wreck.
Thank you! I was a bit of a nervous wreck lol..but now that I've done it, I want to do it again!
Great stuff! Man I’m not sure if I’d do hells gate in my rig. Good on you for doing it!
I hesitated for a moment...but then knew I had to do it..gotta keep pushing past my comfort zone!
Yeahhhhhhh buddy! 💪💪💪💪💪🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
AWESOME Driving Will !!!!!!! WELL DONE ...Not to mention you were in GREAT company as well !!!! I am like YOU , And get SEVERE Anxiety ..I have gone ALL over CO. in my Taco, But Shit like THAT just F'ing SCARES me !!!.. I Am Going out there in OCT. to face my fears and do the Best i can ! And YES, Having a GREAT spotter is EVERYTHING !!!!!
I definitely had my moments of fear on this one..but good friends, and a good spotter really helped me get through it..and now I want to do it again! Thank you so much for watching!
Moab is such a great place. Spotters are so nice in Moab. Thinking about hitting it again in October. You should have tried the hot tub. It’s a good time. I’ll send u a vid of me doing it. Great video, keep them coming.
Do send it to me. That thing looked gnarly!
@@Venture2Roam sent it you your ig.
Great video!
Thank you!!
Great job!
Thank you!!
I posted earlier, but you & others might be interested in this news piece that was announced last Friday. Interior Secretary designated Hell's Revenge, within the BLM Management's, Sand Flats Recreation Area, as a NATIONAL RECREATION TRAIL, along with 3 other trails across the country on Friday. The press released suggests it takes 2-3 hours to navigate the 6.5 mile course; there are optional bypasses at challenging obstacles. The nearby Slick rock bike trail is already a National Recreation trail.
Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely awesome video i want to do hells gate so bad.
Thank you! Now that I've done it, I want to go back and do it again!
Really nice video !!! 🤙🏻 one question, did you change your front driveshaft with that lift kit ?
Yes I did. I ordered it through Metalcloak.
If this isn't an ad for Jeep,, I'll drink beer.
Lol!
Amazing video
Thank you so much!!!
The 392 handled that no prob! Nice job Will!
The 392 was so great on that trail. It was a blast to drive...need to get it back down there again soon. Thanks for watching!
great vid bro thanks!b
Thanks!!
I’ve yet to go. It’s so hard to get away and then drive a couple of days just to arrive. When I do, I’m sure I’ll get some butterflies too. 😄
Hope you get out there sometime soon! Thanks for watching.
Hey, if you get a chance, how about doing a review on the Baxter oil filter adapter I’d like to know what you think
Glad you’re still getting outside your comfort zone.
Thank you...it's not always "fun", but I almost always appreciate it in the end.
What a cool place! We dont have this in Sweden! Well driven! 👍
Thank you!! I've got to get to Sweden one of these days.
@@Venture2Roam that would be Nice and cool to meet you in person! I lin on the island of Gotland in Sweden!
The last time I "let'er rip" I woke up dead.
😂
Great video! What was the deal with the audio?
It was super windy and my mic was clipping. I think I've fixed this issue for future vids.
@@Venture2Roam that sucks man. Still a great video though!!!!
Opinion of one, but your product/brand integration was a bit thick on this one. Took away from the adventure a bit.
Keep doing your thing man, you’re a good story teller and great narrator.
I hear you. I was out with MetalCloak on this run so it was definitely in my mind.
👍
SMPBP - Shitting My Pants By Proxy
😂😂😂. I’m gonna use that now.
Mikes jeep is way Rad
I agree. It’s a nice build so far.
Thank you! It's been a super-fun project!
Downhill assist? Really?? 4-low first manual and you’ll hardly touch the brakes.
The 392 has higher gearing so it’s not as slow as a Ruby in 1 lo.
@@Venture2Roam Ah, didn’t know that. Thanks for the kind lesson!
A teenage backpacker can do what you do for about 100K USD less.
But you don’t have the feeling of playing with fire and wrecking a 100k jeep, all your gona wreck is your shoes 😂
So true. But I’m in my midlife crisis, so I might as well go for it!
@@Venture2Roam YOLO bro 🤙
I'm old, so I let my 100K Jeep do the hiking 😂
@@chrisbayridge23 😁
Great video!
Thank you!
