I would totally watch a spin-off Lemtov movie EASILY
sequel where greece won eurovision in the first film and this is next year's competition. Lemtov has got past his depressed "mother russia doesn't approve" phase and is now a happy gay character who gets a happy ending.
He's a nicer cousin of Borat.

I totally loved Dan's portrayal of Lemtov, who could have just been a creepy rich guy villain out to steal Sigrid away from Lars; but in the end, he is humble, kind, and ultimately wistful in his acceptance of Sigrid's rejection of his proposal. His gentle sadness was so appealing and charming! I loved his portrayal of Lemtov, especially here in America where Russians are constantly portrayed as cardboard cutout bad guys on the world stage. Dan's portrayal elicits sympathy for Lemtov whose wealth and power cannot assuage his loneliness.
I was totally living for him in the role of Lemtov--he was so so good!!

@@jenoz4731 Just about EVERYONE'S favorite in this movie. I really believe Dan may receive an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Would be no surprise, and I'd be so thrilled for him!

Dan Stevens is just so great. Always so kind and supportive of his cast mates, not to mention crazy talented but also down to earth. What a treasure.
This movie is so rewatchable. i loved it
I watched it two consecutive weekends, because a friend who had been in the hospital had been unable to watch it with me and his family. Laughed just as hard the second time and caught a few jokes and lines of dialogue I missed the first time.
I'm so inlove with him and his performance in Eurovision Movie. 😍 I want an Alexander Lemtov movie with Mika or mini series. 😭

He did such an AMAZING job! From all people that were trying to act Russian, he was the best one! He is such a great actor!
For a couple of minutes, before I recognized him I thought he was a bona fide Russian, his accent is so authentic.

He is right, the movie is a celebration of Eurovision just as it is, taking the exact things that make it so unique.
Never even knew who Dan Stevens was (I'm apparently the unicorn who has not yet watched Downton Abbey), but was looking at Will Ferrell vids when this one was 'suggested'....and OMG, who is THIS gorgeous creature? Those eyes, that smile...perfection. Looks an awful lot like Ralph Fiennes, but better. Cousins, perhaps? Beyond the looks, however, is a sweet, affable, articulate and obviously extremely talented actor and musician. Anyway, now I'm off go start watching his entire catalogue.
His eyes in the film were beyond beautiful. He really escaped into this role. I loved him and his story. Great interview, btw!

This was the best interview I have seen from about 40 with Dan Stevens. You did a fantastic job, the questions were great and made Dan think. Over the past 14 years (since "The Line of Beauty" -- which I adored -- to Eurovision), Dan has shown incredible versatility. I had wished they didn't embellish his beautiful voice in Beauty & the Beast when he sang Evermore, because his own real voice is so good, fillied with anguish over his lost love. But I'd love him to do musicals down the road, certainly more comedy as he was just brilliant in Eurovision. To me, Dan stole every scene he was in! But I'd really love for him to do a great old British romance movie from 1946 -- "Brief Encounter". At first I thought he might be too young, but approaching 38, he could definitely do it. And what about a re-make of "Somewhere in Time"? OMG -- it would break all box office records. Thanks again for your wonderful interview.

Currently watching LEGIONS on hulu starring Dan! Its crazy, kind of scary but he's pretty amazing.
Legion is one of my fave TV shows! Dan Stevens was amazing there. Hopefully he gets casted in the MCU, not just in Marvel TV

Yes, of course, he is utterly handsome, but he just exudes charm. And high intellect. Rather intoxicating combination. And there is no doubt, whatsoever, that Dan Stevens' performance as Alexander Lemtov steals the movie from the moment he appears on screen. My favorite song from Eurovision movie was Lion of Love, mainly because of Dan's interpretation and charisma.

He has changed his look drastically since Downton Abbey. It's not just age -- I think he purposely wanted to change his image so he could do other parts. Of course, he had to lose about 40 lbs (and kept it off ever since) to do "The Guest" in 2013, the year after he left Downton Abbey, as the director needed him to really be buff for the role (and did he ever). He added the beard and no matter what look he has, he is simply one of the most beautiful men on the planet. Yes, those eyes, but ALL of his features, including that gorgeous mop of hair, but mostly that soft, purring British voice. BTW, all you Dan Stevens fans really need to see the 2009 film, "Hilde", a German film (it does have English subtitles) where Dan is so perfect with his fluent German reviewers thought he was actually German!! Personally, my favorite look was in Downton Abbey, Vamps, Hilde, Sense & Sensibility and The Line of Beauty -- where he wasn't so thin, just a softer and extremely appealing look (brown or blonde hair, doesn't matter). Can't wait for Blithe Spirit that comes out Christmastime with Judi Dench. The trailer looks very funny -- another star turn by Dan. Hmm...can you tell I'm a fan?

Seems like a lovely guy. Was hilarious in EV movie.. I think the 6.5 on IMDB is just too low for that movie.. It was just such a happy feel good movie and I rated it an 8/10. Love it and have watched the song along 100's of times.
