The James Brown hot tub sketch was definitely among the very best sketches of all time on SNL. Loved the story of James telling Eddie to bury his money, definitely could see him saying that.
@@stanleymasterson1135 just watched him in the new Beverly Hills Cop, he looks the same just a little bit puffier but the same. Barely any wrinkle, same energy. He biologically ages very slow. He looks 15-20 years younger than he is.
Buckwheat getting shot and Gumby as an old Jewish man-absolute comedic genius. And then Mr. Rogers in da hood..... What an era. So grateful to have been a highschooler back then. And then while in college, i went to a NYC club called Mars-still one of the greatest nightclubs in Gotham history-and i'm upstairs and see Dolph Lundgren. As i turn around to tell my friend, i'm face-to-face with Eddie Murphy. Big moment for me at like 19 or 20.
Being duped for so many decades in show business, Mr James Brown and most other artists of his generation (Lee Dorsay, Ruthie Brown, Chuck Berry, etc) had plenty of reasons to be suspicious, to say the least!
He’s an anomaly. You don’t look that much older than the entire cast on the show and they are all people who’ve watched him when they were little kids.
My all time favorite comedian. “Wookin for wuv in all da wrong paces, wookin for wuv” 🤣 My god sister was really good friends with his oldest daughters, they were debutantes. 👀 😂
I wore that red leather suit. NOT KIDDING! I worked at the store he bought it from in Milford, CT. I was the manager of the Men's department. I would have bought it about 2 hours later since I put it together as a set. It was in a closet, not out on the shelf. The store was called WILD BILLS! I still have the bag it came in till today!
I was an NBC Page on the set of studio 8H when the James Brown Hot Tub Sketch was pre-taped. Eddie was just on his way to movie stardom and was so great to just be around.
I cant believe my mom let me warch Raw and Delirious at 10 yrs old! She wouldnt even let me warch Charlies Angels cuz the chicks were braless! But Eddie was a big part of our childhood! 😂😂😂❤❤❤
"He told me to bury my money in the woods" Fam I'm howling at how unprepared I was for that, can't even imagine Eddie's internal reaction to hearing such a sentence lmao
6:33 "Holy Man" It wasn't that Bad? great supporting cast! Jeff Goldblum. The late Great! Robert Loggia! /Betty White! /The Great James Brown? Lots of funny moments! "Oh, please for the Love of God! let her go man!" Huge electrocuting Smile"🤣
I'd LOVE to meet Eddie!! I've been a huge fan of him my whole life. He's also the EXACT same age as my mom. They were born on the same day same YEAR! I LOVE that the medley had some awesome cuts from Coming To America in it!
Years ago when we had cable and RAW first came out, my mother and I stayed up one night to watch the show. We HOLLERED throughout the entire show!! Thank you, Eddie Murphy, for a TERRIFIC comedy show!! 👏🏽😂
Where is the Eddie Murphy statue? I don’t think we give this man the much praise and flowers that he needs and he deserves for all the laughs all the laughs that he’s given us all the years he’s given us back all the movies that we watch over and over again and never get tired of and them to add to this anomaly, he looks the same. The man doesn’t age. He also does things for the community without the cameras that nobody ever sees. I’ve heard a few stories from just random people about how he did amazing things for them just little things to make them feel important…no cameras, no accolades he’s beautiful.
Unless you were around during Eddie Murphy's stand up career you'll never know just how truly AMAZING and BIG he was. His stand up specials were MUST SEE. I venture to say that not even Chappelle (my all time favorite) had to buzz and excitement of Eddie.
I really enjoyed watching this interview with Eddie he is handsome I love his casual dress outfit his calmness his genuinity his honesty.. I think he has a beautiful girlfriend too.. I think he just got married recently.. God bless him and his family.
❤EM....He's a unicorn... been famous for 2/3rds of his life... Unlike many ultra famous...no drug addictions or scandals... Clearly takes good care of himself...Longevity is part of his greatness.🙌🏾

Does this man ever age? He looks amazing! Love Eddie Murphy!
Incredible indeed. He's been looking exactly like that these last 20 years.

@@lovemesomepollo Yes, its from a 2011 episode. You didn't notice its NOT the Tonight Show?
Quest killed that intro medley 🔥
I was floored I had to scroll this far to find the first mention of this! Thank you. That shit was some deep cuts. Watched it so many times
Raw and Delirious are still two of the best standup specials ever. Goddamn legend
College needs to have a comedy course and use those 2 as study guides lol
I wish there was a button for 100 "likes", those stand up specials were defining of comedy in the period.
Keenan Ivory Wayans wrote most of the material
My friend and I rented those and got in so much trouble from my mama watching those in the living room. 😂
My Dad & brother let me watch those & Richard Pryor at like 7 yrs old & my sense of humor was developed by Murphy & Pryor bc of it❤❤❤

It's nice to recall conversations from over 10 years ago. Thanks Jimmy.
Thank you! I was wondering if my eyes were deceiving me. Edddie looks young af in this interview.

i was like wait a minute🤣
This man turned a joke into a series with hope, despair, loss and hype. He deserves every bit of recognition he has and even beyond that
What series? I didn’t watch the whole interview
And he has 10 kids from various women. I think he married one of the moms.
@@goldheart320 Wasn't Scary Spice one of them?
How come we haven't seen this interview all these years? This is gold!
that's gold, Jimmy! GOLD!

Damn, I didn’t remember the actual lyrics but I was close. 😂
@@SVUE-jj9jcI actually remember the song kept playing on tv when they were selling those vhs tapes the best of Eddie Murphy!😂😊
1) I’d watch every episode of a show that is Eddie telling stories
2) Keenan Ivory isn’t celebrated enough.
"Cause I'm hip, I'm slick, and all the women love my cologne. Play Superfreak on four; 1 2 3 4"💯
The entire Wayans family is an American treasure.
I hand to God can not say hot tub without either doing the bit or saying the way he says it as James. Seriously for well of 35 yrs
Eddie is a national treasure, for real.
Absolutely 😅
Love how there were both so relaxed !!!

What actor hasn’t done bad movies? Eddie’s got a least a dozen of good movies in his career
Eddie Murphy is the GOAT!!!
Eddie Murphy from Coming to America (1988) and Coming 2 America (2021)
Eddie Murphy from Boomerang. One of my favorite movies of ALL time.

Best Eddie interview I’ve seen in a long time
The late great Chadwick bozeman did a great job as james brown in the movie.😊
Showed up looking like young Axl Foley! I thought this was 1989
What is Eddies secret? He doesn't age! Looking good as always Eddie ❤

The Murphy’s in the Wayne family hanging out sounds like a hell of a night
I loved him in mister church, based on a true story of friendship. Check it out, you’ll enjoy the heartwarming movie 🍿
Leave Eddie alone about the stand up thing. He doesn't want to do it because he can't be bothered. Good for him. He's enjoying his life.
My brother and I used to rent eddies SNL greatest moments from blockbuster regularly!
