NaTaLiE343 In the animated version he also had the shirt on, but it was two times larger because he shrank in the transformation so it pretty much just showed his bare chest.

I'm kinda glad they reshot it because coming out of Rose petals sounds super cheesy. The shirtless part would have been great though.
I agree, although they needed to keep the camera on the prince for a few more seconds after he turned around. You don't get a very good look at his face, and in the original animated version it's a BIG moment. In this movie they cut away too quick.
I do agree that the rose petal scenario sounds OTT, but I would like to see it, so I hope it's in the deleted scenes.
He does still have roses surrounding him in the movie,just with a shirt.
The film is very Rose themed,The Prince refuses a rose from the Enchantress and ends up cursed,Belle had a rose rattle as a infant,she has clothes with rose prints,her father always brings her back roses every time he goes out of town,then gets inprisoned for taking one from Beasts castle for her,but he have roses surrounding him in the version we saw onscreen,just with a shirt added,thanks to prudish mom's.
Please Disney I beg of you.... please have Dan coming out of rose petals shirtless in the deleted scenes! PLEASE!!!

He wasn't shirtless in the animated,his shirt was ripped revealing part of his chest though.
Well he said the mothers were thinking "well if he's naked from the top down he must be naked from the bottom down" so my guess is the scene had roses covering his bottom down or something.
I knew he was good-looking and a good actor, and after the film, a great singer... but I had no idea he was so witty and full of fun. Just wonderful.

I'm amazed that he hasn't been scouted now to do broadway or something! His voice is absolutely incredible, especially for not having had formal training before!
Actually, Airwreka, he did The Heiress on Broadway in 2012 and started previews of Hangmen in early 2019 but then COVID-19 closed down all shows. He is a huge draw for Broadway audiences -- and he absolutely LOVES Broadway. Once the pandemic is over, you can be sure he will once again be thrilled to do a Broadway show.

To me, when watching the movie, one of the most surpising things was Beast singing. And I think that he has such a bass voice when singing in the movie because it reminds me of villans' voices, as they are always really low; even though his speaking voice kinda sounds tenor-ish, I wonder how he managed to sing like that, and if he's actually a bass.
I remember seeing him for the first time in Night at the Museum 3 and being like "wow that's a hot dude"

If there's any confusion, I wasn't referring to his computer altered beast voice, I just meant his actual singing voice but when he trained it to sound more 'beastlike'. Because he also sang 'the rainbow connection' in a previous film, and he sounded totally different, so that's what I'm referring to. I feel like people can get that confused, lol.
I remember first seeing Dan Stevens as Edward Ferrars in the BBCs adaptation of Sense & Sensibility back in 2008. I've been completely obsessed with him since then.
Well, then, you should really watch 21-y-o Dan in 2006's "The Line of Beauty". Incredibly sensitive and intelligent portrayal of being gay in 1980's London during the time of Margaret Thatcher's conservative rule and the emergence of AIDS. Very touching performance.
I first saw him on 'The Guest' and I knew someday he'd do a prince role. He was David here and also in Legion. Man, he's insanely beautiful.

Also a few shirtless scenes in TV series, "Legion". Haven't seen The Rental yet, but have heard he does a hot tub season there as well. And of course, while not exactly shirtless, all of his scenes in Eurovision are basically showing a sculptured chest......
