    if that machine has been running for a long time with its cable not fully unwound the cable would get hot possibly causing this fault

    i think the blackness of the copper is water getting into the cable, old cars have this problem with harness wires going black too.
    But ive never seen the copper strands fall to bits before.
    Total misuse of insulated cable (someone had no patience with cable jams).
    My mate has a henry, the daft sod left it in a shed and it didnt work when plugged in later.
    I found the carbon brushes had been damp and they were stuck in the boxes.
    People just dont have common sense.

    have you every replaced the switch on one of these? found out the oem switch is different to the original took a few hours to work out what was wrong.. i am no expert but took a few of us at repair cafe to work it out and the owner went home to get the original switch which then pointed too the issue of the orientation of the oem switch made a big difference.

    • @bootsowen
      @bootsowen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why does it have the red switch on top?

    • @TheHenryCollectorExtra
      @TheHenryCollectorExtra 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@bootsowen they did away with the rocker switch on the side models in 2002. These had the push button spring loaded switch on the top to make the switch more visible for those who can’t see very well I think. But the rest of the Henry was the same (same vents position) as the previous models and earlier, from 2002 till mid 2004, these had the 1100w UDS motor with no hi/lo switch. In mid 2004, they introduced the hi/lo switch and a slightly different 1100w motor (sounds very similar to the 1200w motors) the 1200w motor was Introduced in late 2004.
      However, in June 2006, Numatic changed the switch design to having them on top. (Red on/off rocker switch, green hi/lo switch) with the vent located centrally on the back of Henry.
      That design continued on the standard Henry’s until October 2008 when the Autosave Henry’s (HVR200A) was introduced. But the older switch assembly from 2006-2008 continued on the HenryXtra till 2010 and on the HenryMicro until 2014.
      The Autosave feature was discontinued in 2014, and Henry was made single speed with an indicator light with a 580w motor, but that model was only made for 3-4 months until they reintroduced the older switch assembly from 2006-2008. But with a 620w motor. But in 2016 they did away with the Hi/lo switch again and they reintroduced the single speed models from 2016-present.
      Sorry for the essay lol.

    • @bootsowen
      @bootsowen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The essay is cool with me! it is a big step from a 1200w motor to a 580-620 motor, half the power.
