    My son (9) likes to do rollover recoveries with the original RC4WD Warn winch when we have a mishap on the trail. Great video, we love your content! 👍🏼

    I live in northern mi and get all of the seasons so lots of crawling in off conditions. I’ve fell in love with micro winches on my comp rigs , add a lot of fun .

    Interesting. RC4WD did a great job on the scale factor for sure.
    On a different note... That night footage was really cool!

    Which actual model is this. I can’t seem to find this exact one. I already have an rc4wd winch but I like the controller. I lost a couple of batteries with the other style. I left them plugged in. No switch like this one. Thanks for all the great vids! They’ve helped a lot.

    I had the big version for over a year on my sherpa, it works very well trough water, mud & snow. It's really a cool upgrade for every rig and makes fun to pull out your friends👍

      The big boy RC4wd winch?

    • @just.jose.youtube
      @just.jose.youtube ปีที่แล้ว

      An Absima Sherpa 3.4? That's a rig we're yet to see here on the channel. In the USA they have RebelRC selling it and calling it Rebelcon. Awesome trail truck! When will that be featured here? 😁
      I have a Sherpa myself, but mine only got the one motor version of the winch! :p

    • @quarrycrawlerrc
      @quarrycrawlerrc ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RCReviewChannel Yes. Fits the Sherpa very well, only the 4 small holes for the metal plate under the winch have to be drilled, the body does not have to be machined. Very cool channel by the way, it's always great fun to watch your videos👋👍

    • @quarrycrawlerrc
      @quarrycrawlerrc ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@just.jose.youtube Here in Europe you only see the Sherpa quite often, I personally only know the Rebelcon from videos🤔 Great truck yes, only the weight distribution is a bit crap, the battery is definitely too far back. I think the normal winch is enough, but the sherpa was my first crawler back then and I wanted to be on the safe side☝️

    • @just.jose.youtube
      @just.jose.youtube ปีที่แล้ว

      @@quarrycrawlerrc of course, when in doubt, go BIG! 😃💪 And Sherpas ain't light with all those servos and lights.
      I'm thinking of either totally striping mine and making it more capable, or increasing its scale factor with an interior and such, turning it to a pure trail truck.
      I'm from Portugal, so yeah, mostly Sherpas here too.
      Since a Sherpa and a Rebelcon are pretty much the same, I'd love to see a review here on the channel. 😁

    Always wanted a Warren winch for a rc crawler. Had a few on full size jeeps. But always thought the rc version was way cooler. Dont have the need for one but the kid in me really really wants one.

    I've always used RtR esc's as winch controllers. Plenty of power, drag brake, and you usually have them laying around.

    • @just.jose.youtube
      @just.jose.youtube ปีที่แล้ว

      That's interesting! 🙂 How is the wiring on that option? Do you use a free channel on your radio system for control?

    • @FaithSaraG
      @FaithSaraG ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@just.jose.youtube yes, I use a spare channel for control. I use a Y harness to connect both esc's to the battery and run the motor leads to the winch. It's totally overkill, but it works great.

    Seems like a really great scale winch, but I think I'll stick with my Reefs99 Micro servo winch for now. Light, strong, easy to mount on most rigs, and is literally plug-and-play on CH4 of my Flysky GT5.

    • @Djkommode
      @Djkommode ปีที่แล้ว

      What if you have 2 speed trans dig and lights already?

    • @Yamahatwig
      @Yamahatwig ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @dj kommode Fair point. I don't have a 2-speed rig, so that isn't a problem for me. Dig is on CH3 and lights are plugged into the Rx only when I need them (rarely). You might be able to run a winch off one of the CH5 or CH6 potentiometers, but I haven't tried it.
