Im literally crying... My dear childhood, I was growing up on that thing. It's so nice to see that beauty here again. I know it's a 8 years old vid, but Thanks you :)
My parents got this set for my sister and I for Christmas. They also bought Super Mario Bros. It was the best Christmas ever! My grand-parents and my cousins also got a set. This got me hooked on gaming ever since!
The NES had composite AV imputs and this package contained a yellow/red RCA cable to connect it to the TV. It looks like this box is missing some other minor pieces too (poster, warranty, ROB glasses, etc.).

Damn yeah man so true, what a console to huh gave so so many of us countless hours of fun & was single handedly responsible for rescuing gaming after the video game crash of the early 80s we ALL owe that little grey box so very very much
1985 was a hell of a year, after I blowing tons of money trying to beat Mr. Sandman on Punch Out!! at the arcade I went and saw The Breakfast Club, for Christmas I got a Nintendo like this and didn't get 8 hours of sleep until late April of 1986.
Lol sounds similar to when I got my Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K but unlike you my late nights were through waiting for the damn games to load as they came on cassettes you can imagine how long they took up to 30 mins in some cases & all whilst listening to the digital screech fax machine type noise it made whilst loading, weren't the 80s GREAT lol
The NES was my first gaming experience! I still remember playing it for the first time. It was late and I had to go to school the next day so my parents sent me to bed, while they stayed up and played mario brothers. I was to excited to go to sleep, so I was watching from my room. My parents caught me watching and let me stay up and play! Those were the days.
I was born in 1986. I remember my dad bring this home when I was 3. My mom remembers waking up at 2am and finding me playing Mario. All I could do is make him jump.
I open that NES, on Christmas day. It was such a surprise to me. Waken up that morning and feeling the box on my bed. It was magical. Memories of playing with my sister, dad and mom. Those happy innocent days. -THANK YOU GOD :)
Wow man thanks for that video. I spent lots of my time playing this as a kid. I actually had the original setup depicted here. Born in '86 I had a lot of fun with Commodore 64 and Atari as well being the 5th of 6 children in a large family getting those badass goods handed down!
31 is how old the system is; he'd have to be older to have played it near when it came out. also its not like it disappeared he could of been born after production and played it
I take it your parents/siblings like rero gaming then coz the SNES was dead b4 u were even born but good on them some of my favourite gaming memories are from the 16bit SNES/mega drive era CANT wait for the snes classic let's just hope they make plenty this time & keep up with demand huh
7starsuperman screw that I don't see the point in buying a 25yo piece of electronics when I could go buy a Retron 5 & have the best of ALL retro worlds from what I've seen they look a truly AWESOME bit of kit. Also I did have a SNES & 10 of the greatest 16bit era games like Zelda,Metroid,Castlevania,Canon Fodder illusion of time plus Mario World & the AWESOME Super Mario Allstars & the damn thing went missing whilst moving house still not 100# sure if it was down to a sticky fingered removal guy or as I suspect it was the victim of a space saving vindictive GF that thought I spent enough time on my PS4 let alone a SNES (as I write this I begin to believe even more that it fell victim to her lady ships insanity)
I was 8 years old when you were born dude. I had this Sam's setup but I got 3 games. Super Mario, Duck Hunt and Gyromite. Bought in March of 87 at ToysRus!! I remember my brother taking me that Thursday evening to pick it out and then next day I went to school and my dad and the next door neighbor were finishing hooking it up when I walked in the door from elementary school. I was in love instantly with it. Coming from playing an Atari 2600 to playing Super Mario Brothers on the NES was like night and day!!! Miss them days.
I'm 61 and a avid Zelda Player , this was my very 1st Nintendo system also except for the gun , I did keep the robot up to a couple years ago and finally it went to electronic heaven . Glad I run into your video . Reminded me how time went so fast from back then to now ! As I would say , they were the good old day's eh !!!!
My family owned one of these in the 90's. I recall having the Zapper but it never really worked, it still looked cool in my child-mind though. We had games like Super Mario 1, 2, 3, Megaman 2, Adventure Island, Duck Hunt, Double Dragon, Little Nemo, Mario Golf, and a few other games that had titles I now can't remember. I'm 25, and this console brung many moments with my family that I will always cherish. I'm proud to say that my Mum was a gamer back in the day. Her favourite game was Adventure Island and I remember her being really good at it, which is impressive because it was a difficult game.
Im only 19 but I have a brother who is currently 34 right now and the NES was released when he was 4. He told me that it was all of his childhood. Every day when he came back from school, he would directly played the system and he would've got in trouble because he didn't any homework. Old days now became memories. I played the NES the first time when I was 4, I used to play the original Mario, Mario 3, Duckhunt and etc. After my brother went to college, I played the NES till I was 7 when I got my first PS2. But now, I miss the old days and I want it back, ahhhh memories.
Sjaaaaaaaaak!!!☜ The set with ROB? Or just the console and controllers? Was it boxed? I got the console and two controllers and cables (Nothing else, No box) for 35 euro recently (I'm 15)

My brother and I received this for Christmas in 1985. We never really figured out how to use ROB properly, but it didn't detract from the magic of the experience.
After having the Atari 2600 my mom got me that exact same set for Christmas. I could've been 11 perhaps at the time...now I'm 45. What memories it gave me unboxing that nintendo.
my family and i are playing this console back on 2005.even though there is a ps2 already..but i love playing this on when i was a child..really loved it.
I still have my NES, still works too. It's currently sitting on display on one of the shelves in my room bedroom; along with my other rare and noteworthy possessions.
I got my sister's hand-me-down Nintendo. When we're kids we don't think about things being "new" or "cool". I thought the Nintendo was new when I started playing it in '93 or '94, when I was 6. When I heard my friends talking about a _Super_ Nintendo, I was like, "Oh my God... It's _super_?!?" Then, when I got about 10 or 11 I was all about some Sega Genesis. I know that those systems made me a gamer for life.
feels good to see one in the box, I still have my console and games , never had Rob either , it wasn't my first game system but was amazing in its day for sure.
Lol the year you were born was literally the year I got my deluxe set for Xmas.I was 11 at the time,so many memories or diving under the Xmas tree seeing a present that's the same size of the deluxe set THEN opening another gift that turned out to be a color TV to go with the nes.
i am unfortunatley only a kid from 2005, so i have only one time before experienced such a beatigul piece of incredible technology. i got goosebumps of happines, first time i touched one.
in old days instead of phone , ipad and laptop there was nintendo if you were born in 1980s you would be addicted to nintendo or tv and maybe when you are in 2021 you would still be addicted to a 34 years old thing

Even though I was born a year later (86) I definitely got to enjoy this system. My favorite console by far...Currently looking to get my hands on a Complete NES so we'll see how that goes! Can You Imagine having the ability to play duck hunt online??? That my friends would be an event of epic proportions!!
Forgot one thing ...the Nintendo Rob game plan poster....born in 77.thank you for the memories.this is what I got in 85... Still remember being confused about not knowing to press down to load the game... nearly sent it back to walmart.but thanks to an accident I pressed down into the system and then everything was good.

Awesome!! Started out on my father's Atari when I was a kid then got a Nintendo for Christmas in 85 or 86. I had the power pad too for track and field. Cheetah was tough to beat especially in hurdles unless u used ur hands or just ran light and fast. Got Mike Tyson's punch out at my grandmothers that xmas morning and couldn't wait to go home and play. Yes I finally beat Tyson....007,373,5963. By the time that The Legend of Zelda came out in its gold case (it was stated that u should only turn the game off by holding select and then the power button) my father, brother and I used to fight over who got to play. Usually my father won. That music remains in my head till now. Ahhh, the memories. The 80's were great!
I don't know. I'm 17 and grew up with a Wii. But for some reason I have this obsession with retro game consoles like the NES and Atari. Every time I fire up my NES I get this joy that overcomes me, almost like in a past life I grew up with these consoles.

I am 17 years old and I started with an NES and an N64. They were my older brothers, but I loved every 8 bit moment of it, thanks for the memories.
Nintendo should do a remake of each of they're systems & sell them again... They would make more money selling these then the Wii U.
+Ur2ez4me81 wow thats a sick idea
+Sora Heart make a petition on change.org lol and lets get these signatures going
Sora Heart Would buy one of these in a heartbeat. Still very fun to play, even to this very day!
+Ur2ez4me81 They actually did make reproductions of the first Game & Watch game, back in 2009/10 or so!

Wait. Why isn't he showing how Rob works?
He's pretty boring lol Though he's pretty hard to find!
And also Rob would only work with old CRT televisions as they work different to modern flatscreens
He is not an engineer
