What did on my LOOK, and another bike was, I simply used the spacers I wanted removed from the stack, and marked it. I used that method three times and it comes out spot on..

most compression plugs' support don't seem to go all the way up to the top, it may prove more beneficial to measure in a way that ensures the stem is positioned fully on the expanding portion of the plug, even if that means having a spacer above the stem?

Could I leave the expansion plug sticking out 1mm on the top instead of flush? So the top 5mm spacer under the top cap has something to ‘sit’ on?
    Thanks for everything!

If i have the same bung and stem as you have, can i cut my steerer 3mm shorter so that the topcap sits flush to the top of stem without the need for extra spacer on top?
If not why? I dont get it?

    Hello :)
We can use a quality blade for steel to cut the carbon fork?
    Best regards.

What is the maximum amount of spacers I can run underneath the stem?

If it’s a carbon steerer tube then no more than 40mm of spacers under the stem.
