  • A little sample of Woob's Tokyo Run vinyl zoetrope in turntable action
Working with renowned composer and producer Woob, cinema iloobia was invited to turn his short film for the track 'Tokyo Run' into a double sided zoetrope design. This would subsequently be printed directly onto the vinyl release of the LP.
Drawing inspiration from a long lineage of animating picture discs, most notably by audio visual engineers Sculpture, cinema iloobia came up with its own solution to bringing the images to life with this modern take on a classic technique.
Vinyl Design / zoetrope animation - iloobia
constructed with clips from the short film 'Tokyo Run' by Woob
    additional zoetrope design by woob

Be glad you saved your money. DOES NOT WORK AT ALL like it looks in this video. Fuck me.

theonlyegg You have to view it through a camera or a strobe light for it to work. It’s like how car wheels look like they’re going backwards in videos. Our eyes’ FPS is higher than a camera’s, but when viewed with a camera, our brains fill in the missing frames.
