Def. One of my favorite monosynths, and with the IO to be a studio centerpiece. Once you get your head around the sequencer it's Real Nice. Don't ignore one-shot mode~!
cool overview.......nice to hear some of what it's capable of......Personally, when I laid my hands on one for a while, I was a little underwhelmed, not a synth that immediately inspired me and drew me in, but that's just me...............Great job of showcasing a bunch of different things as you explore it...........
Hands down one of my favorite synths. Filter layout and design is still unmatched IMO. Hidden in some bizarrely perfect alternate dimension there exists a 16 voice iteration. Alas, this one will be more than sufficient! It's absolutely packed to the gills with inspiration. Perhaps this will cleanse the palette after your bittersweet conflict with the P12?
@@MIDERA The PRO2 has the lushness to go with the extensive features and modulation, vs. the Curtis filters of the 12. The feedback character section are more usable overall on the 2 then the 12, gain staging with a bit of "drive" (tape saturation emulation) in combinations of the filter "boost" and feedback and distortion, are just wild and definitly pleasing, though things can get out of hand quickly.
I much prefer the sound of the Pro2… if only they were the combined product! The P12 is actually a poly and sounds ok, but it’s not as good as the Pro2 IMO.
@@MIDERA was totally interested in what your conclusion was going to be. The Pro-2 is kind of magical. I know a lot of people prefer the Pro-3 but there is just something about the 2. I like it better than the P12 as well and I'm glad the 12 came in a module format. The P12 has this angst to it that I like a lot but the Pro-2 is special.
@@PleasantDiversion I actually don't like the look of the Pro-3 at all and feel like it's a downgrade compared to the Pro-2 in many ways.I'd go for the P12 module, but the keyboard version looks so much nicer. I can't imagine the P12 desktop is as easy to use as the keyboard version.
@@MIDERA PRO3 is a side-step. It is obviously lacking a few things, the extra LFO and envelope and oscillator, the flexible routing filter section. But it has things like better overall calibration, better implemented feedback, the 3rd filter. I wouldnt take it over the 2, but I think of the 3 as a better stand-alone monosynth, and the 2 as a better overall piece of hardware.
Such a great synth, love mine. Paired with a sub37 is a thing of pure joy and if you sit it beside a summit you feel like you are living in tron, lol;)
Oh the summit is ambient heaven. Tend to think of it as the Hifi synth, very cinematic. Obviously can do an awful lot more but just think “let its strengths be its strengths”. Loved your radias videos by the way, I held onto one a lot longer than I thought I would because of them :)
That sequence you got going at about 21:00 was a real ear worm. Lovely stuff and interesting to hear your thoughts on comparison to the 12. Sounds like you'll have some fun with this 🙂⛷️
Prophet 10 is my favorite of the bunch. Actually the PEK has a similar keybed and/or might be slightly better. They feel very similar to me. But it's *not* my favorite keybed. My favorite is from the Virus KB, with the TP/8s. The Prophet 10 has the TP/9s, which I just really don't like as much as the TP/8s. It's really surprising more manufacturer's don't use the TP8s. Ah well.
Yo congrats this synth is an absolute beast
Thanks! Was saving up for a super Gemini… but then again I suck at delayed discounting and just bought this.
You still need that Delta CEP A. You'd draw so much out of it.
@@ianmacdonald3010 Ah yeah, I know - I want that too -_- I have too much stuff.

@@soupforare REmind me how one-shot works?

Interesting - yeah, I think it sounds great, but I was expecting it to sound like the P12, and it didn't, so that was nice.

Yeah, good question. I then sit down with the P12 and try to love it for what it is… it does sound good, just not as good as the Pro 2!

Great to see a Pro 2 added to the P12. I always thought they were an interesting combination.

Nice man!! Great sounds, I've been wanting to pick up a Pro2 as well
Thanks! Yeah, got mine for a good deal and I really am enjoying it so far.
This made me want to get a Pro-2 so bad.
They sound great for sure!
